I posted my day 283 a while ago. I didn't know where I was before the patch either. I tried to match the day 283 data to the spreadsheet but it found no matches on either list. I'm in uncharted territory, or was at that point.

As stated above, but in simpler terms: You control the Used Car Lot, there is no time frame to buy cars as they will not ever change unless you enter a race or other mentioned above in which six cars will be added to the top of the UCD list and six removed from the bottom (if filter is set to deaer acquisition).

Many people including myself use the licence tests as a quick way to pass days in the UCD by simply entering the first test then just skipping from the first to second, third etc up to test five which upon doing this and exiting will completely restock the UCD with the next cycle of cars.

it's actually faster to start a race, exit and then start the race again and so on. that way you don't have to deal with any loading screens. much faster than loading the license tests

A little more data from me. I think I've formatted it consistently with the last lot - TornadoAlley, if it looks wrong shout at me and I'll do it again ;) I've removed PI from data recorded prior to 1.07, again pretty sure that I did that from the correct point although I didn't note it at the time as I didn't immediately know they'd changed.

It looks good. I've nearly completed a program to go through all of the entries to correct any differences in capitalization (which is one difference in our lists). Once I have that finished I can run another program to look for any time the same set of cars appears (right now the same 8 cars in a particular order). This will be an easy way to check for any signs of the list cycling back.

I uploaded a new sheet with everyone's info. jaymanji you are a beast getting another 200 days entered in!

More progress, so here's my UCD data from my days 89 to 112

I do enjoy all the new colors that the cars now have in the post V1.06 list.:)

Another thing that I've noticed is that there are an awful lot of 1998 cars. This seems to be the game's favorite year. Does anyone else get this impression?

Respectfully,

I hadn't noticed any preference for '98 but I can't say that I had been looking that closely.

Both the google docs spreadsheet and the downloadable spreadsheet with search program have been updated. Master List #2 now contains 747 of the 808 unique cars throughout while Master List #1 only has 603 of the 808 unique cars :ouch: (come on Master List #1 people we can't let them win :P)

I think I finally have enough of the process automated that it doesn't take long to get entries in and spell checked/corrected.

right now i am focusing on trying to find if/when the cycle loops back around. so far i havent found any evidence of it and i am over game day 6000

I too am interested almost more in that question than in filling in the list. It is possible that at some point you would find yourself at the beginning of list #2 (I have no evidence for that but it is possible).

Lmao, find a pattern to a system that used a CPU's random number generator to create results. And it different per console. Yawn the whole post is mute.

Moot. And it's identical on every console in the world - merely with a randomly (possibly) generated start point.

Other than that, you're on the money.

I have doubts as to the list cycling back. My reasoning is that some of the LMs/Race Cars do not show up until day 900 or so. If the list cycles back, you won't see these cars again until another 900 days..

But surely we need to fill in the list, so you have the data to compare your new position with ?

(I say we, but I have been playing DeBlob2 non stop since Friday :) )

That is true. As it stands we have 54 days at the beginning of list 1 (looks like I need to get to work) and 116 days at the beginning of list 2. There are several gaps throughout the lists.

Right now it would be very possible to miss the cycle because of the large gaps in the data.

So has anyone found their position since 1.06?

Anyone who knew their position relative to other players in the old list (v1.05) has the same relative position since the update. The issue is if you didn't know that position then the data is still pretty sparse for new comers to find their position.

Your best bet right now would be to start a new game on another account and get the cars that appear on day 1. You stand a decent chance of finding where you are that way.

Ok, well I found myself on the old list but could find a match on the old list after 106/7 so I'll check the new lists this evening but after a first look, its not looking too good

i agree. but i make sure to check it at least every 20 days to make sure i don't miss that 54 day span at the beginning.

1998 was when gran turismo first came out

Very true:tup:

If I remember correctly, the initial release date was late December 1997/early January 1998.

So this would nicely explain why PD has modeled so many 1998 cars.

Of course it doesn't explain why so many of these '98 cars remain in the game after 13 years, but I guess its easier just to leave them in once you've modeled them rather than model new models and discard the old ones.

Hey all, just wanted to say thanks for all your combined efforts with this database, it has been monumentally helpful!

I have a quick question, slightly off topic but I hope you don't mind,
I'm most likely going to buy a new GT5 disc tomorrow. I already have a save on the PS3 but for reasons I'd rather not get into I may not get the disc back. So I'm asking with this new disc, will the UCD lineup at my current game day be different?
I know the starting day depends on the disc, and the game save tells you which game day you're on, so if I buy a new disc, will it just go >however many< days from the NEW start loaded onto the new disc? Two rare and awesome cars are waiting for me in my UCD and I don't want to lose the opportunity to pick them up, but I really want to play GT5 again :)

Thanks for your help guys, and sorry for going off topic but I think you would know best on this matter.

From what I understand I don't think the starting point for the UCD is disc specific but is specific to a single PS3 (someone correct me if I'm wrong). You should be able to use any disc as long as you don't switch PS3's (i.e. copy your save game and move it to a friend's PS3).

Yep, that is correct. I copied my save to another PS3 and the UCD was different when I loaded up that save.

I've found that I'm not on either list since the UCD change for more colors, etc.
My three accounts were on the pre-change list, earliest one on rows 172, most advanced one around row 2500. Now none of my account's UCD is to be found.

What order is the list in so I submit my UCD? I have a day 1 account on mine now, so how should list the UCD? Start at the bottom, right side one, then left side one?

I you are wanting to contribute the order within each day is
Car 6--------Car 5
Car 4--------Car 3
Car 2--------Car 1

And of course the most recent day is at the top of the current UCD. The best way to report them is by starting at the bottom right and recording up from there so you preserve the order. It is also very helpful to me if you use the master list of car names found in the online spreadsheet.

We welcome any help you want to give! 👍

I now have 2 discs and 2 PS3s.

Each disc displays the same UCD sequence in the same console. The UCD sequence is transposed between consoles - they are about 400 days apart - and, once the transposition is accounted for the sequence is the same. Oh and uninstalling the game data and reinstalling from either disc gives the same start point as was originally observed on that console.

So:
* The overall sequence is identical and not random.
* The start point on that sequence is determined by the console and not the disc.
* The start point is not random either - though how it is generated may neither be useful information nor feasible to attain.

Though this post won't stop people making posts in the thread to say "LOL ITZ RANDOM!".

still haven't found a lop/cycle yet and going on game day 6847. I wonder how many days that the game actually counts until it stops counting the game days?
