Feeback is great! I'm not sure how much you've played with the site, but as you start typing, the names of matching cars should appear for you to quickly select... That's assuming you have javascript, which I assume 99% of people have these days.

DOH :dunce:

I should have spent a little more time with it. That is better than drop boxes anyway. My main concern was people incorrectly typing an entry and then they would never find a match. The way you have it setup should work just fine for avoiding that issue.

Just to be safe, I added a validation that makes sure that whichever car is entered, if that car isn't in the list, the user will be notified.

One other question for you TornadoAlley, in your searchable spreadsheet, why did you choose eight cars? Did you determine that eight cars were necessary for a unique match?

In the pre 1.05 UCD I needed at least 8 cars to guarantee a unique list (there were several points with the same 6 cars but nothing else matched around them).

With what data we have currently there isn't any example of 6 cars appearing more than once but I didn't want to rewrite the code (not that it would be hard). The more cars the better but I didn't want to make people type in 30 cars to find a match.

OK, I'll leave mine at eight as well then for consistency. Thanks.

Just added more details on the "when will this car appear" feature. You'll now learn at what price, mileage, and color the given car will appear, as well as how many times. It's handy for planning.

I've also added links from the main http://gt5cars.heroku.com/ site to the UCD search. It's still in beta, but I don't think it's going to change drastically from here.

that's a pretty sweet site you got there. it's too bad we didn't have this back before pd changed up the ucd when we had 3000+ days documented

Thanks, we'll get the site built back up. I've actually just come to a gap in the current database, so I'm going to start filling in some of the gaps. :) Creating the search interface has already helped me be prepared to buy a few cars that I really wanted to make sure I could get.

Hello everyone!

I am looking for three cars that can not be exchanged with friends.

I'm on my GT5 2221.

I'm having trouble finding these cars:

Ford Ford GT LM Race Car
Mazda RX-8 Concept LM Race Car
Opel Calibra Touring Car '94

I've been looking at the list and found that no list is equal to another, the cars do not appear on the same day on a ps3 and not on the same day in another. to save one another and the days are different in these cars that appear.

Does anyone know whether I am close to finding these cars?

Hugs to all

I've loaded up TornadoAlley's compiled list into a web site. You can test it out here:

http://gt5cars.heroku.com/used_car_searches/new

It will show you what's currently in your used car dealership, as well as the next thirty cars. It can also tell you how many days until car X appears in your dealership (if known).

I'm sure it still has some bugs and rough edges, it's just a prototype at this stage, but I'd love to get some feedback on it.

Thanks everyone who helped compile these lists, you're awesome!

Does this still work for anyone? I keeps giving me the following message inside a red text box

"There was an error or no match was found.

* No results found"

Just got back from vacation, and saw a few of the automated error reports from your searches. I'll try to look into why they failed this week and get back to you. The search is still working for me, so it's probably an edge case I've missed. Sorry for the inconvenience.

This should now be fixed. Unfortunately, you hit the end of the current UCD records, which was the cause of the problem. I've fixed the site so it doesn't crash when that happens. On the down side, if you've played at all since then, you're probably now in unknown territory, so you won't get matches anymore, until you get back into charted territory (I'm in the same boat myself.)

At any rate, to see what your UCD *should* have looked like, you can click here.

Thanks for looking into this 👍

I'll keep trying to see it the UCD goes back to the beginning in the future

There's a few gaps in the data, so its possible that you'll find yourself again before you loop even. :)

Ok, I've tried the web site search tool and am having no luck. I decided to take the info straight off of tornado's spreadsheet:

Untitled-1.jpg

I still get the red box that says the cars can't be found and canot be blank.
I tried it with the - between maqke and model and without the - and same results.

This is using day 2 info for the first three rows and then day 1 info for the 4th row. (Logic says that the first row of day one would move to the 4th row on day 2)

Is there a specific input format this thing looks for that is different than what is listed on the spread sheet?

Looks like you've found a bug. There's supposed to be an autocomplete field to help you fill the fields out. Somehow I broke it. Bad me. I'll see about getting this fixed ASAP.

e.

Ok, I used the same sample cars cut and pasted from your example, and still get the same thing. Nothing seems to be working.

I'm investigating currently. I've fixed one bug, but I think there might be another, more nefarious bug. I know this is silly, but don't cut and paste the names... Instead, start typing the model, and when you see an autocomplete prompt, select one of those cars.

The other bug might have to do with how I've translated TornadoAlley's spreadsheet... I don't have anything concrete to report here yet. Will post again when I know more.

Sorry for the inconvenience, and thanks for bringing it to my attention!

e.

OK, all sorted now. After reading how you reworked day 1 into there, I had to re-check my assumptions. TornadoAlley's spreadsheet is "day reversed". He explains the ordering here: https://www.gtplanet.net/forum/showthread.php?p=4982783#post4982783

So the search you were trying shouldn't yield any results, but either of these searches should work:

Code:
| Day | Model | gt5cars.heroku.com position |
==================================================================
| 2 | Countach | row 1 col 1 |
| 2 | GTO Twin Turbo | row 1 col 2 |
| 2 | SL 600 (R129) | row 2 col 1 |
| 2 | Garaiya | row 2 col 2 |
| 2 | Skyline GTS-t Type M (R32) | row 3 col 1 |
| 2 | NSX | row 3 col 2 |
| 3 | Camaro SS | row 4 col 1 |
| 3 | Carol 360 Deluxe | row 4 col 2 |

| Day | Model | gt5cars.heroku.com position |
==================================================================
| 1 | Roadster 1800 RS | row 1 col 1 |
| 1 | Calibra Super Touring Car | row 1 col 2 |
| 2 | Countach | row 2 col 1 |
| 2 | GTO Twin Turbo | row 2 col 2 |
| 2 | SL 600 (R129) | row 3 col 1 |
| 2 | Garaiya | row 3 col 2 |
| 2 | Skyline GTS-t Type M (R32) | row 4 col 1 |
| 2 | NSX | row 4 col 2 |

Oh, and remember to select the car models from the autocomplete. I'll work on fixing that so you can type the names without using the autocomplete--though I find it much faster to simply begin typing the car's model and select it from the autocomplete menu.

Let me know if you run into any more issues.

e.

Thanks. It looks like it's working now. This only works off of master list 1 correct? In the example I put in it says there are no gt-r concept lm race cars. I checked the list and master list 1 does not list it, but master list 2 does. Or is there a limit on how far it sees out into the future?

Is it like all the other fortune tellers, I have to pay more to see further? LOL

It works off of both master lists, but since we don't know when or where the two lists are joined, it can't say for certain when or even if you'll get from master list 1 to master list 2. It could be the case that master list 2 is behind master list 1.

Ok. Just one more quick question and then I'll stop bugging you:)

There are an awful lot of missing days it appears on both lists. If I input from my system the cars showing, and my cycle just happens to be in the range of missing days, I am SOL, right?

Unfortunately, yes, you're SOL. However, you should keep trying once in a while, since at some point, it's possible that you'll come out of the hole, and appear back in charted territory. You could also log your UCD, so that when you do come out of the hole, you can fill in part of it, and help out everyone else.

e.

hehe actually most of the days are just a result of me cycling through the ucd using the refresh trick. i can probably cycle through close to 400 days in 30 mins if i really want to :D

Sorry, I have just been skimming this thread. Whats the refresh trick?

Load race, start race, quit, start race, quit, start race, quit, etc.
Progress as many game days as you like with only one loading screen:tup:
