Hey guys, since the change of the UCD how much has been changed, i was using this place prior to check when my cars were coming, but now im completely off track, and it seems all i get is the normal cars, very rare i see anything over 100k, could some1 possibly PM me with the new list if thats too much trouble to ask?

Thanks
Mark

Thanks! I just looked and I'm on 1068. But doesn't everyone start at a different point in the cycle or have i missed something? At least I know how much cash i need to keep aside!

As far as I know , everyone starts on the same cycle. (day one cars available are the exact same ect.)
Well , after the patch 1.05 or something the UCD got messed and the cycle (if there is one) changed for everyone ,
so that just the cars availeble on specific day are different from pre patch.

I remember getting the patch and after getting as far as checking the UCD some of the cars were sold out.
(at the same spot where I had bought a car pre patching)
Basicly I didn't have the car in my garage , which was sold out.

buy the Sauber....:D
get a 1000 ticket and start cycling it...dont think its available to win by racing/license

Don't do that unless you're willing to spend days on end trying to get a car there's 1 in 1000ish chance of getting. Probably even more as some cars have different colors.

Ok, I gave the simple version: to prevent the odds from 'getting' you, send a 1000 ticket to a spare account, clone it and send daily to your main account. Dont use the tickets until you have lots of them...I do 10-12. Then copy that account so you can dupe it and open tickets until you get the car you want or you reload a copy to try again..this way you only have to do a max of about 100 cycles to get 80+% of the cars to show up(dups, color variations will total about 20%)
I have 200 cars and collect race cars and a few other types and pretty much every day I get something I keep by flipping tickets :) It DOES cut into my racing time though...:guilty:

Ahh good idea 👍 good thing I have a spare 1000 ticket

perhaps true in general but there are at least 22 race cars at level 22 and above including the Audi R8 cars...so maybe a level 24 ticket?:sly:

What is level Car Ticket Random Pick?

I believe he means that when the ticket is used, you receive a random car of that level in exchange.

Exactly.

not very clear what he means.

Random Pick is just that, random.

If thats the only cars a level 21 ticket can get than I definitely prefer the 1000 ticket

The downside of the 1000 Ticket is that it could take several hours, days, even weeks if you are trying to get a specific car as your odds are less than 1 in a thousand each time you use the ticket. Considering the time it takes to back up your game save, start the game, load the GT Mode menu, redeem the ticket, find out you didn't get the car you want, quit the game, restore the game save, and start all over again can take over 5min each time.

Thus on average it may take you as much as a hundred hours of constantly going through that cycle just to get a specific car with the 1000 Ticket.

The nice thing about tickets that have only a few cars in the pool of random selections is that you can usually get the car you are looking for fairly quickly.

naw, you just cycle say 10 tickets then your time is productive...I've rarely not got a couple good cars a session that way, and only looking for 100 cars out of the 1000 give you much better odds too. Its easy to see the short coming, harder to figure out how to work around them :D

I'm not sure why you are trying to insinuate I am wrong or unable to grasp ways of improving your odds.

Yes, you can collect as many tickets as you like (of course that in itself can take as much as 10 days for 10 tickets, unless you have gifts from other PS3s), but the same is true for any ticket, so it doesn't magically make the 1000 ticket all of a sudden a better choice in terms of the chances of getting the car you want than every other ticket which all have significantly better odds, assuming of course they have cars you want.

For that simple reason, the only time the 1000 Ticket is a better choice than ANY other ticket, be it Birthday or Level, is when the car(s) you are looking for are ONLY available via the 1000 Ticket. Otherwise, using your own scenario of using multiple copies of the same ticket type would also apply to any type of ticket - all of which have much much much better odds of getting any specific car than the 1000 ticket.

I certainly hope you can understand the logic, reason and math behind that.

Not only that, regarding the strategy of collecting multiple tickets to "improve" the odds doesn't actually improve the odds of course, it just saves you time from having to constantly restore and restart the game - but at the cost of having to spend more time replacing* used up tickets on cars you didn't want.

*If the car you are trying to get is worth 1m or more (and thus can't be duped), then it will take a lot longer to constantly replenish those tickets should you get a car you want after having already used up several of the tickets prior.

I still didn't understand what is that of the tickets.

Can you explain it better please? From which level can i get that and how does it work? I don't understand it.

Thanks and Greetings.

For what it is worth I had some down time and updated the spreadsheets to reflect all of the data that encoded has in in the searchable website (everything before this post).

Jaymanji has almost single-handedly filled in most of what I called "Master list #2". I had taken a break from GT5 and might pick it back up again and while playing fill in some of the gaps on "Master List #1".

I think PD may have finally implemented a used car listing that we may never completely understand but it has been fun to uncover what we do know and give some ability to find what cars are coming up.

Awesome! I hope your GT5 Sabbatical was a fruitful one!

I like many others, really appreciate your work, it's priceless for planning purchases, and I'm very grateful to be in "charted territory".

... and after a day by day check of the OCD, finally I started using the list too. It was around day 2000 looking for last 100 standards. Today I'm in day 2550: about 50 cars already bought, 41 planned, 2 out of the list that don't show up for more than 1000 game days!!!(Vertigo and Supra Tom's Castrol '01, as of 06/30 update).

Thanks to TornadoAlley & Jaymanji for the update, and of course to all past contributors.

I've taken a break from data entry at the moment, though I intend to keep on it.
Got a bit carried away trying to tune that damn Fiat 500 and lost a shedload of game days on my main game:ouch:

I'm always glad to hear my efforts have been helpful:)

anyone have any ideas for figuring out issues with using the searchable list? I've been getting a missing script error with previous versions and now after upgrading OpenOffice to 3.3 I get no error but also NO result...should I get a message if the search fails?

wow, just searched manually and found myself...
bummer is its list one day day 1281 and it only goes to 1286 :( then a 1400 day gap
so I guess I'll see how hard it is to keep up with tracking it and contributing to this effort

So how are you guys getting from the UCD to a list on your PC? talking about recording the days on the UCD...any methods better than manually typing it?

I haven't found any method super fast. I keep a window open that has the list of cars in alphabetical order to copy/paste from for recording the cars.

I have considered taking pictures of my TV of the listing (would require several pictures with decent resolution) and then working on filling in the list when I've got down time other places/watching a movie.

If you decide to contribute (and we always welcome more help) then the easiest way for me to get things imported is through you sharing a link to a google spreadsheet with only your data in it.

I wrote the search program using Excel. You should get a message that says no match found. I have not worked with OpenOffice enough to know how their scripting works/translates for VBA for Excel.

If you just wanted to record the cars that appear, copy and paste is the best way to do it. I took the standard car list from TornadoAlley's Master List onto my excel spreadsheet. Typing out the price, mileage, PP and colour is what makes it hard work.
Of course any contributions are welcome and much appreciated.
You don't have to be mad to record your UCD but it helps:)

I've written a small input app, for when I was tracking my UCD, that writes to a google spreadsheet. It presents a grid of the cars and popup forms with an autocomplete field like the ones at http://gt5cars.net/used_car_searches/new I would have to test if it's possible to let anyone use it and save to their own google spreadsheet. Assuming I could set it up, would it be of interest? The one nice advantage to it is the autocomplete field... After a while you start to learn which parts of the car models narrow the choices fastest.
