GT5 Used Car Database [in progress]

I've written a small input app, for when I was tracking my UCD, that writes to a google spreadsheet. It presents a grid of the cars and popup forms with an autocomplete field like the ones at http://gt5cars.net/used_car_searches/new I would have to test if it's possible to let anyone use it and save to their own google spreadsheet. Assuming I could set it up, would it be of interest? The one nice advantage to it is the autocomplete field... After a while you start to learn which parts of the car models narrow the choices fastest.

Interesting idea, might be worth trying out. I haven't been devoting much time to it recently but if you're planning on doing it, i'll give it a go.

To encoded and jaymanji:

Thanks so much for all the hard work. I've only got around 200 unique cars left to collect, and both the website and the spreadsheet have made that job easier. Keep up the good work!

The Chaparral 2D does not appear on the spreadsheet. Does this car never appear in the UCD? I'm starting to think that as I've been waiting an eternity and it has never shown up. Starting to think I should just spend the money on something else?

I have it appearing 3 times in "Master List #1" and 7 times in "Master List #2". What game day are you on and have you been able to find if you match either of the collected lists?

If not a method that works for most people is to start a new game (different account on the same PS3) and look at the day 1 cars to see if you match anything recorded in list #1 or #2. That will give you an idea of where you are in your real game with respect to the UCD listings.

As i didn't know where to write, because there is no "contact" page on gt5cars.net, I write it here, maybe Famine will see it and suggest a correction. There are 2 cars on the list that don't exist in GT5 - Mazda RX-7 Type R '98 and RX-7 Type RZ '98. There are so many of them that is easy to make a mistake :)

We already removed those from the master list and the list encoded bases gt5cars.net on - though we haven't updated either publicly yet.

No idea where they even came from

Being on day 2857 I'm close to the end of the jaymanji list.

@Jaymanji: are you still collecting data there or went back to fill the gap?

I had thought about stopping after Day 3000 to concentrate on filling the gap. When they tripled the seasonal prizes I just concentrated on grinding and buying cars, so now there's a new gap from 3000 onwards :grumpy:
I haven't played the game at all for the past couple of weeks.

But I do feel like taking the 458 back to Le Mans this weekend so hopefully I'll update soon:tup:

Now on day 2895. Can I fill that gap? Should I submit data to Tornadoalley? In which format? (csv, ods)

About the easiest way to share data I've found is using google spreadsheet. That way as you update that sheet with your new info I can easily incorporate it into my lists. If you prefer I can also handle csv or xls just fine it just requires an e-mail update each time you have more data collected.

You mean the second link in signature?
That's ok. Do you need I login to edit it?

Sorry I wasn't super clear before. What many people have done is make their own google spreadsheet for just the cars that they are tracking. Then all I need is the link to your sheet and I track whenever you update it and incorporate it into my compiled list.

OK, I'll use your sheet template for a new google doc. Day 2915, now. A bit more than 100 to reach the uncharted zone

I cannot find where I am on either of the spreadsheets, or the website - Does anyone have any advice?

Also, Jaymanji, if by some fluke of fate I have a different progression to everyone else - did you manage to get any further with that app? Maybe i could add my contribution?

What day are you currently on?

The best (not necessarily easiest) advice is to start a new game on a different profile on the same PS3 and see if you can find where your cycle starts relative to what we have recorded. Once you know that you can find out if you are in an area that isn't recorded yet.

My actual account is on Day 1791.

Using GT5v1.10 Searchable UCD (Updated 7-23-11).xls;
Oldest car on the fresh account is from master list 1, Car 65 Day 11 Nissan PENNZOIL Nismo GT-R '99, but the newest car is Car 94 Day 16 Subaru IMPREZA Sedan WRX STi Version '00. Looks like the CIVIC SiR-II (EG) '93 and BMW 330i '05 are missing from the top.

I could be reading it wrong but looks like it is offset to day 11.

Pictures below showing cars from fresh account.

You are reading that correctly. Depending on how you look at it I would interpret you being shifted by 16 days (less two cars). If you advance your new game to day 2 then the new cars that enter your lot would match those on day 16-17 in the list. So if you are on day 1791 then you should look at day 1775 in my list. Which if I recall is a area void of info.

I would be happy to incorporate any info that you are willing to collect if you are interested.

I don't know if Encoded's still working on it but I haven't been collecting much data recently. If you're on Master List 1, you're progression is different to mine. Unless the 2 lists ever meet up that is.

Quick update tonight, not much new data though.
60 day gap with a few cars inbetween.

I'm there, going through the edge to uncharted zone, ML#2, day 3020. I've created a google doc. I'll give you access to it when collected some data. I'll continue this job until 3 rare cars appear, last standards I need.

Last Vertigo was on day 2201. Too bad I hadn't money to buy it. I'm waiting it for 800+ days.
Viper #51 doesn't appear since day 2575. As above, for less than 500 days.
Ford GT LM '02 since day 2502 (500+ days delay). I was poor as above.

The largest Ford gap was 1600 days, but most probably were one or more in the gap.
The largest Vertigo gap was 1000 days, but there is the gap in between.
The largest one for the Viper was 1500. This too includes the gap.

Finally, with the high probability there were one or more each in the gap, for all three I'm waiting a lot of time compared to documented appearing frequency. Maybe it will be a short job.

I reached the ML#2 3040-3100 gap.
Currently filling with data.

edit: the gap will be completely filled tomorrow. Currently on day 3085.

Hi all,

I've just spent the last few days reading this whole thread... I'm nearing the first gap in the master list #1 (days 195 to 220). Unless someone else is already working on filling this gap, I'll try to contribute.

I've been working on that area of the list but I don't know when I'll get around to finishing it. Feel free to contribute as you have time.

I have no idea which list I am on. My save says day 1670 but I cannot match to either spreadsheet.
I have started a new game under a different profile and here was my starting selection:

Is anyone able to help?!?!

Found you in master list 1 near the beginning. It looks like your day one cars match rows 13 through 42 on master list 1. I'm afraid that list is pretty empty where your current game is (1670).
