Hello people. I found my place on master list 1 around day 570 but I lost the run of myself a bit doing some seasonal events and I've gone off the list I was looking at, which went as far as day 599. I presume there's a gap from 599-863 so I'll try generate a list from where I am until I overlap again.

Here's my current UCD it's probably around day 620 or so.

https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0AmzfD_pE1D66dExyckVpNnMtNHEzZlR5SDJRb2JoY2c&hl=en_US

I checked your list and it matches list #1, starting at day 601. The order is jumbled, however. Look at TornadoAlley's file, the first sheet, it illustrates how to read the UCD in the right order.

My new PS3 is keeping me on list #1, but 34 days into the future... so to speak. My day 1 UCD used to be cars 160 to 189, now it's cars 364 to 393.

For those that might be interested and haven't done something similiar already.:

I imported the "Cars" tab from garbuckle's GT5 Matrix to TornadoAlley's latest UCD Database update. Then, using a simple LOOKUP formula combined with a logical test for applying conditional formatting, I colored the database based on whether I had the car or not for easier reading. "Big Deal," you might say, "I can tell what I have by the checkmarks on the GT5 UCD screen." However, this makes it easier to plan racing versus collecting by making it easy to scan for a color to determine how many cars are coming up in the UCD that you need. Plus, for people who have their cars spread over multiple accounts this is an invaluable way to determine what you still need since you may have one car in one account but not another.

If anyone cares for my best explanation on how to quickly and easily accomplish this, let me know.

I did a similar thing after garage completion to collect colour variations :) but didn't use the GT5 Matrix. Yours is a good (and better) idea 👍

I've started to work on the next gap of list #1, from day 1286. If anybody else is working in the same area, let's try to coordinate our efforts (PM me or leave a message here).

I will try to make note of colours also when a car is not paintable and/or doesn't give a paint chip.

I will be arriving in that area on my primary account (finally out of the dead zone) in a day or two, but from what I have seen you cover WAY more ground than me in the UCD, so I don't know that I would be much help. If you have a plan in mind, let me know.

If I do it like last time, and take pictures of the UCD, could I send you some of them so that you could transcribe the information into a spreadsheet? That would save quite a bit of time, I think.

You send me clear pictures and I would be more than happy to transcribe.

This zip file contains 50 images, the equivalent of 100 days. Bottom right car of picture 001.jpg is car #7840 in master list #1. Hopefully the pictures are clear enough!

Do as much or as little as you want, just let me know if you're not doing the whole thing so that I can take over. 👍

I will definitely complete it. Might take a bit, but it will get done. 👍

It looks very good! I have a few remarks:

- TornadoAlley uses the exact spelling of the UCD, as far as I can tell -- it looks like you're using the Matrix spelling; e.g. Renault Sport vs. Renaultsport, also Lutecia Renault Sport Trophy V6 24V Race Car '00.

- We have to be careful with very similar model names, e.g. MX-5's and RX-7's among others: car #7868 does not have the word Miata in the model name.

- I think TA normally takes care of adding the name of the contributor, and in this case I would suggest that he put your name, as you are doing the hard part of the work!

Anyway, that is a very good start. If you find the progress too slow, I would suggest you drop credits and odometer reading, but that's a personal decision.

Spelling conventions are easily changed as I am using a list like the data entry page of the Matrix. I will go back and and check that MX-5. I usually don't make such mistakes as I have collected 80% of the UCD and am usually very careful. As for the name, I couldn't care less. Perhaps, AJNS73/segovia? :)

TornadoAlley, I am using a macro to auto-complete the manufacturer and model names to speed the process. Can you deal with a .xlsm file, or should I convert it before posting?

Also, I'll be about 25% of the way through what segovia sent me 2 days ago. Do you want it in chunks or the whole thing at once?

I am fine with macros. You can post it either way but I probably won't get a chance to update anything until next weekend.

In that event, I will just post it when it is complete. 40% through now.

UPDATE: 70% done. Days 1307-1376+

I think there are 599 cars in your spreadsheet, it looks like you might have skipped one somewhere, unfortunately...

I'll take another series of pictures soon. If you and/or others are interested in transcribing, I'll put some of them here.

Got to be kidding. The only place it could be given the way I entered them is at the end of the group. I will go back through them tonight and tomorrow and find the issue.

Luckily it was found in the 6th set. Verified the 4 sets after that as well. Should be good to go.

Good timing guys - just enough advance notice to do some seasonals before some expensive cars I don't currently have turn up :D (Still no R390 road car though :banghead:)

I'll endeavor to do some spot checks every now and again, but your method is pretty good so shouldn't be a problem ;)

While I'd like to say I could help transcribing, I'd probably be too sporadic to be of much use... :(

PS. I thought Nomad Diablos were meant to be rare? Must be 'cos they're all within a few weeks there - 3 of them haha!

Just found I'm on List #1, and 84 days off. I'm on day 1885 and I see nothing in the excel sheets, how can I contribute?

Not sure if this is news, but the all accounts on my PS3 started on the same list day, but one car (not full day) ahead of the previous account.

If you are not in a dead zone and you can establish a definite position, then when you reach a gap, do one of the following: (1) Start using some method of recording your cars from the bottom right to the top left. Move right to left and then up, right to left, up, etc; (2) Snap a picture of your screen with 6 cars showing. Move up one hextet and snap another. Then either record them yourself or post them in this thread and someone will transcribe them.

If you are unclear about how to do anything I have described, ask before you post any data. Many people have contributed a lot of time to this project and it would be a shame to double work or have erroneous data in the final spreadsheet.

Good Luck! And thank you for helping out.

Here are some more pictures for volunteers to transcribe. This data goes right after what's in ajns73's file (post #1315), in other words the bottom right car in picture 002.jpg is car #8440 in master list #1.

An FGT finally showed up! It's towards the end of the sequence. There are 93 pictures, which means 186 days. I suggest to work on pictures 20 at a time. I'll take the first batch, so pictures 002 to 021. If someone else wants to work on them, post it here. First person would specify they'll work on pictures 022 to 041, for example, and so on.

Edit: A Nismo GT-R LM Road Going Version '95 also shows up, it's on picture 042.jpg.

Ok, I'll take on pics 022 - 041.

Am I right in thinking bottom-right car of 022.jpg would be #8560 (in day 1427) on ML1?

Edit: Wooo! I spy an R390 Road car on pic 017.jpg :D Not (too...) long to go, yay!!
