And what about Rubber bands on the asfalt?

When The nascar launch at the pit lane, I dont see a mark :s. Althought could be because the tyres are cold (the wellknown tyre gauge of all Gran turismos would be more important to check out how much mechanical grip you have at the tyres)....

Thas its what Im talking about:

Itsn´t very clear too :s

There are other examples on the teaser....

I think it basically means tyre marks haven't made it into the game yet, whether we will see them in GT5 is still unknown, but I would say unlikely.

Which is pretty stone age in my book. :indiff:

Now you're going to say "Oh please, cut it out, they're just skidmarks. Who cares?". But really, there have been skid marks in other racing games as long as I can remember! How hard could it be? Since KY is claimed to be a perfectionist, I think he better implement skid marks this time around.

It would also make the crashes look a lot more realistic. A big NASCAR crash at a super speedway with a lot of smoke, but no skid marks would look pretty wierd in my opinion. I may be the only who cares though...

So, i downloaded the video from PS Store and watch it frame by frame. I don't know if go frame by frame on the PS3 is the same of watch it on a proper player.
But i start to count how much i need to hit the directional forward to one second change, and guess what ? It was exactly 30 times !
Could this mean that they took the footage of a replay ? *-*

Maybe i'm wrong, but it can be a possibility.

Very likely because:
1.The analyses of this thread pretty much proved it was NOT CGI
2.In Prologue the replays also play at 30 frames per second

No you're certainly not. I agree with you to 100% here and I'm again not the only one believe me.

I would also like to see skid marks but only when theyre done right.
I hate overdone black stripes in every corner (for example in Race Driver 3).
GT5P already has some really cool looking textures with pre-made skid marks, sometimes on Eiger, it looks like you made them.^^

I just had a thought (idea) I always wanted to share for along time now but always forgot lol. Alright look, as already said KAZ is a perfectionist right? So if he wants to implement skid marks than he wants to have them being done perfect too, right? But i guess it's only possible when they can simulate tire-deformation precisely enough (sth. that FORZA 3 is doing I suppose, not sure, they hinted at it in their trailer from E3.)
Btw, this post kinda destroys my previous one but who cares. :dopey:

Tyre deformation is not featured yet, unfortunately. I think it could be a nice detail if it is implemented in the final product.

I know Forza 3 will feature this, and Live For speed uses it (perhaps more games as well?).

Video of Live For Speed, to show you what I'm talking about:

i THINK gt5 Can Simulate it but it wont be eye candy. Just like GTR PC games and rFactor, pressures are there, how much rubber meets the road, but we just don't see it on our eyes, Heck even Forza 2 had those physics on tire we just did not see it on our eyes. Just becase we do not see deformed tires, it does not indicate that there is no tire physics.

I think PD has tyre physics without the eye candy. I am not worried about it seeing on screen, maybe with Patch or GT6, but for sure I will know PD will implement the physics, I just hope they put a screen like in FM2 where you could see all physics for your self.

dont know if its been mentioned but isnt the back wheel floating above the tarmac???

It appears that way because of the shadow infront of it. However the shadow infront of it is of the huge chunk sticking out of the right side of the car. It's just an optical illusion.

I think Gran Turismo actualy needs full 3D skidmarks with pixel-vertex shaders and 4XAA with HDR applied on rubber pieces sticking on the track - but that's just me.

Right, that's just what we need. :sly:

Better yet, why don't we use something like the Hubble Telescope to break it down even further.

2d Skid marks would be plenty! But heck we have damage now! Also confirmed Body kits, tires, etc.. all we are missing now is Day Night Cycle. Skid marks, and deforemd tires are eye candy. We can have it later on game.

It does have a shadow. The other 2 cars look like they have darker shadows but those are just the shadows from the trees extending out further into the track.

SLR driver with the sunglasses;

Again, I've posted about this in the other GT5 E3 Trailer .

Ok, the above image shoes a corner store Fielmann. I googled what Fielmann was it is a eyewear store. Now I was thinking about maybe there will be customization of your diver also. I'm sure PD had to get a license for that otherwise it would of been shown as FLelmann or Fielman or something similar. Unless that i is a lower case L but I can't really tell. What do you guys think?

When you play GT5 Prologue, there is a cafee there in one of the My Page Screens, Maybe we can drink brand Coffey there too?
So no I do not think that store will give us glasses for customization. It's just background picture.

Yeah maybe you can park your car on the street and walk down and chill at the coffee shop and conversate with other racers. :dopey:

And then you can level up your character's driving EXP. Then they have the garages where you can spend cash to fix/upgrade your damaged ride....ugh never mind. (...loads up RF Online). :)

..& now what if that were to be true?

Um that will too much doing other things beside racing. That should be a total seperate game. PD could release a MMO type to compete with the Need for Speed mmo game to be release later. But that is getting off topic.

- The LMP cars' headlights do not light up the road ahead of them

That does not look good for night racing

- Indianapolis Motor Speedway's grandstands were empty

- when changing the tires on the NASCARs the tire changer aimed for the lugnuts

- There was 30-40 3-D spectators behind the pit wall at Daytona and Indianapolis - WOW

Fielmann's is only located in a few European countries so I doubt that a Japanese company would put it in just to signify that customization will be available. That store appears to be in that very spot in real life. I used the store to verify that Bern was the location shown in the video. I found the Bern location of Fielmann's and then looked up the address in google earth to find pictures of the surrounding area. I'm not sure that they would need a license to show a real life location. Could be wrong.

No, They don't need it for real world locations. Just look at all the billboards and business in NYC Times Square in GT4. Times Square even had a busweiser ad that appeared in the game. I think they added a disclaimer at the beginning of the game. 👍

Anyone else notice the Coors Light ads on the nascars? For the longest time EA and others would not display billboards or ads relating to alcohol or tobacco. They would censor them or change them slightly to read something else. This was true for most games using real world places or race cars.. I'm glad the ads are there because it adds to realism. :)

No, is not floating, the shadow of the tire is too close to see it, and the shadow we see next is from the side skirt.

AND we cant see day/night cycle because we get pictures and not a movie with enogth time to see if the sun moves.

AND this time of day is already in GT4 Motegi.

Sorry my english.

About the tire deformation: I remember hearing someone saying that GT5: Prologue does the physics, but doesn't render it.

Alright folks, i watched that baby in 1080p slow mo on my PS3 and i spotted something that got mentioned similar before.

In the onboard cam from the Subaru, you can see that the car hits the ground first with the right side a bit smoother, then hits the ground harder with the left side, the hood goes up, down, up and then down again but i think the main damage didnt came from the landing...

Another thing ive noticed, which i dont like, is that theres a barrier straght beside the Rallye track all the way, which would mean we still cant go off track on Rallye courses. 8(
And i think that barrier is the reason why the Subaru is so damaged, at least it looks like that when you watch it in slow mo.

This was one of the first things i´ve noticed. Well but i dont expect cars flying down from the Grand Canyon cliff
