GT5's >MISSING< Tracks & Circuits [Moving on to GT6]

I remember Jordan from gt academy (he has some involvment with its production) saying that that GT6 has a stupidly high amount of tracks coming out with it, maybe some of the golden oldies will be back

GT3 and GT4 are better games than GT5. That's the sad reality.

Yes, I prefer the map on GT4 over the ugly thing we have on GT5. :(

I loved GT4 map, the way they distributed stuff... the 2 different used car dealers.

MUCH, MUCH better.

And GT2... for me it will always be the best GT 👍

True 👍 map in GT4 was great, but IMHO the map design in GT2 takes the prize :)

-> Well, too busy at the moment, so I'm doing a quickie reply.

^ Unfortunately, maybe is a very strong word here in this thread. And I'm not very hopeful about it. :indiff:

BT -> Another home run from Xenn as he cracked Super Speedway '90s from GT2 in full blown GT3 glory!

^ Can't imagine that PD made a last-minute redesign of SS ('00s) for GT3 and its duller looking compared to this. And DON'T get me started about Motegi!! :grumpy:

-> There are other videos, but I have to go back to work now... :indiff:

Which is sooo true.

The GT4 map blows the GT5 GT life menu out the water. That map felt like you're traveling around the world just to visit the manufacturers and the racing events. :D

-> Just browsed through Xenn's YT Channel. And out of all of his most recent uploads, the only tracks that caught my eye are:

- The one that I just posted 6 hours ago: Super Speedway '90s

- And this one:

^ Yes, you got it right! It's the ultra-fun and challenging track from GT1 & GT2, the Driving Park: Test Course '90s!

:sly:

-> Well, I asked my YouTube buddy FallenSaintsINC for hime to make me couple of map of Xenn's GT3 Demo discoveries:

Driving Park: Mini Oval

^ I will post the pic of the Figure-8 only, the Mini Oval was a bit rough though.

:)

-> Alright! The OP is thouroughly updated! Possible & Hidden tracks will be moved onto my blog site as each separate entities, unless such demand exists here in GTPlanet.

-> I've used Firefox to edit the OP since the revised OP came from my blog site (while using Chrome). Its a tedious process since none can be matched up seemlessly. :indiff:

-> By the way, my Forza list is live at Forza Planet! Click on my sig to check it out! :)

I still don't like that it has the current tracks old versions on the main list, as it's easier to read if they have a separate section right after or in other post, but rest is pretty good.

"Possible & Hidden tracks" could be linked somewhere, so you post them afterwards (lets say #647) and just put the link on the OP. That's because of the lack of a
function on GTP.

And if possible every track should have a youtube video linked (some don't) and a linked in-game photo.

-> While I was sleeping earlier, I can think of this:

Location {Real / Original}

Track {weather / time} (fate)

^ No they're not! You may think that these tracks ARE the same as the ones in GT5, but I've played and re-played these tracks from GT1-GT5 and they're not completely the same!

-> My question to you, what is your 1st GT game?

That may be true but PD are never going to bring back older versions of tracks they've transformed over the games. I mean I'm not sure what they changed on the Eiger track between Prologue and 5 as I never had P but they're not going to suddenly add the old version or revert to it, are they?

^ Heres my obersvation on each Eiger Track:

Eiger Trail - From GTHD Beta demo. Completely different map layout. Narrower track width compared to Path, tougher blind corners and consecutive esses, here is the 2nd LINK.

Eiger Path - From GTHD DLC game. The track is narrower, more rural setting, road textures are rougher so bumps are more evident, road grades and elevation changes are more severe.

Eiger Nordwand - Basically the GT5P and GT5 current spec. Overall track width is wider, has a 'professional' FIA-like atmosphere (ie. boring), elevation changes somewhat milder, stupid pit lane layout, not as fun as the previous two.

^ Take note, I never touched GTHD Beta (I wish I could). But based on my experience between Path and Nordwand, I can tell its own significant differences.

-> On the basis of older tracks never coming back; if everyone remembers GT4 with Fuji Speedway configurations, it had multiple configurations from each decade (see my OP) except the '70s layout. PD can do the same magic again with different tracks too!

I never said older tracks wouldn't come back I just meant it's highly unlikely they would 'revert' any tracks they have changed or updated. For example what is the chance they will make a HD version of the old High Speed Ring? Pretty much zero, they've already updated it how they see fit. Same for any of the tracks they've changed.

Tracks and layouts that have completely gone missing could certainly come back however, like the extra Fuji layouts you mention.

^ I can also recall that most Best MOTORing shootouts on Fuji was the '80s & '90s version. ;)

From my experience with GT through GT5 regarding the original tracks like Grandvalley, deep Forest, and autumn ring etc..The basic layout is the same but there are slight changes in the curbs and runoff areas, some of the corners are smoothed out and maybe slight elevation differences. They are the same but different.

(...) They are the same but different.

That's pretty much it. Same track, but at different times.
Same thing happened in GT4 with Fuji. We got the modern version, and the 80's/90's version. So...why not get the same thing with the original tracks?

Some tracks, like High Speed Ring are completely different though. Like, they bulldozed everything but the basic layout and rebuilt the whole thing with new topography of the land. That doesn't happen to any real world tracks of course and I just don't see them ever re-doing the old version, makes no sense to them.
