GT5's >MISSING< Tracks & Circuits [Moving on to GT6]

of course they are different, but if a pd employee reads gtp it is way easier to read all the tracks that aren't in gt5 just by name.

which is why there should be separate sections, like with hidden tracks.

That first version of Eiger is pretty sweet. I wished if they just put that version in for fun. I wonder what keeps them from doing that. Is it because the track is not of GT5 quality?

Because....PD.

They're impossible to read and they don't tell us squat.

^ I know huh? ;)

-> My buddy Korza pointed out some tracks that were shown in GT5P's ending credits namely this highlighted area:

Don't want to disappoint you there buddy, but, that might just be there accidentally.

That map seams to be attached to another map, so, it was fitted there just because.
Or, because it's size is just perfect to fit that blank space between each map.

Isn't it the Grand canyon mini course, which was in one license test at the GT4 prolouge?

Now that I think about it. Yes. Indeed it is.

Also, Van (just thought of a new nick name for ya, hope you don't mind), are you also considering making a "photo" section? Like, for locations that were never actual race tracks, but instead, a photo location or used some place else. Like the car park in GT5 Prologue Spec II, or the win tunnel.

-> Well, I asked my YouTube buddy FallenSaintsINC for hime to make me couple of map of Xenn's GT3 Demo discoveries:

Figure-8 Circuit
gt3figure8.png

Driving Park: Mini Oval
gt3test2oval.png

^ I will post the pic of the Figure-8 only, the Mini Oval was a bit rough though.

:)

FallenSaintsINC here. I think the oval was more accurate then the figure 8 drawing. It's a little difficult because I'm using a laptop mousepad, I might redo it sometime if I ever get a mouse. Also, during the oval video the arrow is in the way he drove but I remember that wrong way was displayed even though the car started facing that direction. I don't know if that's because he replaced Laguna Seca with it or what's going on there though.

Those two tracks don't seem to have their own maps, so it uses a "default" map which would be Laguna Seca.

Some tracks are a bit dodgy with their directions, hence why you'll see "wrong way" sometimes.

Midfield Raceway 90's is my absolute favourite track. I think it's probably one of the things I want most in GT6.

I think everyone thought it was a given that it would be in GT5... No brainier right? Wrong! We can hope for GT6 now. I don't think it's the best track ever, but it sure was a fun track. A great go to test track.

-> Taking a little rest now. There was something that was bothering me, so I played GT3 again to double-check about Deep Forest. And the version of DF was the '90s (of GT1 & GT2 fame) and not the '00s (from GT4 on). ;)

~> Yup, the Deep Forest in GT3 is infact THIS ONE:

^ An excellent drift track on top of that too!

^ Oh hai FSI!!!

-> The reason I selected the Figure-8 map was simply because its emphasis of the course. It represented far better than the Mini Oval track, on which has the same design layout as the real Test Course '90s but shrunken into microscopic proportions.

^ I am well aware that most your discoveries does not come with a map. But FSI has a knack of layout-ing these maps as long as there is a red dot for that person to follow. But unforunately, the world isn't perfect. ;)

^ That how I felt when GT5 was released (with deep angst towards PD). And propelled me to create this very thread. :)

You know...the intro to Spec II, with two Audi R8 racing on a car park?

Can you believe it?! I couldn't find this video online. Anywhere! So I had to upload one that I had in my HDD

Still related to my subject...there's more sides to the GT series that all we know and adore. Missing cars and tracks may be the main thing that drove you to do this list and add your contribution to the other one.

However, I love photography, and with so much potential wasted, I think I should start a similar thread as this one, only this time, I'll be focusing on [Locations] that were never used, or left behind.

I'm talking about the docks and the inside area of Daytona for car delivery in GT5 Prologue. The forest path way seen on the home screen of GT5 Prologue. The airport used in GT Concept Intro....you got the idea, right?

Watching GT5P videos and intros made me think how much more awesome it felt compared to GT5... it still had that "state of art" thing that we are used when getting new GT games.

Don't get me wrong, I love GT5 but... I think most of you can understand the feeling.

The next GT game can be epic, really... if they add 30% of those "lost" cenarios/tracks it'll be awesome already.

It's simple right now: give to us the Gymkana areas (open space and autocross) from GT4P and GT4 games, some of the old Photomode locations and 3-4 tracks from GT4. (Amalfi, Citta di Aria, Midfield, and some city track, you choose: NY, Seoul, even HK!). Give us that stupid and simple empty space then we can go there online with 10 friends and do drifts, burnouts, photoshoots, car meetings, WHATEVER WE WANT. One simple open space. The possibilities!

GT4 Gymkana (open top standard car. WHERE ARE THEY? :( ):

This stuff on GT5? BANG. Can be a big part of an epic Spec3 update or epic DLC pack ready. I don't care if the tracks are "standard"... just put them on GT5 and give to us. GT5 lighting take care of making them look interesting enough. One more thing: if you watch GT PSP intro for example, the Citta di Aria (Ferrari Enzo scene, around 1:00) and the New York track shown there looks good with ok textures and all. I remember some comparision between GT4P and GT4 where the textures on the New York track were made worse to not cause slowdowns... So, they have the assets, even with good textures.

GT PSP intro:

I know it may be useless to talk about this over and over but: give us that content! OMG, the possibilities... I hated the Hong Kong track but now I just imagine cruising on it on GT5 with better textures. I'll not even talk about how awesome it would be to have Amalfi back. OH GOD, please! :scared:

I think this is the right thread to dream about.

You and Deko and Van are right on the money, and hearing about the secret locations on Prolouge and the older GTs, I wish that they were on the games. Yep, this is sad to see the hard work on the stuff PD done don't get a chance in the final product. It should be put inside the game, even if it's a free DLC or for a few bucks.

And even hearing that T10 does this as well with the FM series is a huge shocker just like PD and GT with the lost cars, tracks and features that would been enjoyed. Don't get me wrong, I love the GT and FM series, but some things that they both do just makes you wonder though.

I really must get Prologue back. I always wanted to play Gran Turismo HD too. Can someone point me to GT HD somehow? (Where can I buy?) Sorry if I'm a little off-topic!

GT HD Concept was never available on disc except in very limited numbers in Japan, it was a PS Store download that is no longer available.

I'd imagine they're probably quite rare and therefore expensive. You're not missing anything anyway, it only had ten cars and the Eiger track.

Yeah i think you are correct. I cant find it anywhere.
