I disagree. The M3 E30 is basically a race bred car turned street legal. It participated in many different groups of racing including rally and holds numerous significant victories in motor racing.
No denying that the Lambo Countach is iconic but in terms of racing, the E30 dominated the world of motorsport of the 80's.

Accomplished? Yes. Great? Yes. One of the best cars from the '80's? Easily. One of the most iconic cars from the '80's? Sure.
The most iconic car from the '80's? Up to debate. In America, the Countach and Testarossa were worshiped. Not to mention the Porsche Turbo and Slantnose.

It doesn't exactly mean it's not going to be in the game. PD isn't finished with the car list yet hence the "subject to change" bit on the official car list page on the Gran Turismo website.

I know, but I have a clue why that occured. I bet they're having issues with the license by the company that helped nissan make the Deltawing. My 2nd theory is that they noticed a flaw with the car model that they're trying to fix.
 
Introduce some serious one make racing and formulas:
You design just a car like a formula ford, renault, lotus t125 and you have an entire season of event.
Also for more traditional categories like lotus exige cup, or a radical sr3 or a bac mono.
These are the cars i want in a racing game. It would be spectacular also because it allows you to progress between categories: from kart, to formula ford, to lotus t125 for example.
I m not talking about a realistic career, just a reasonable counterpart in gt world.
I would add at least: lotus exige cup, lotus t 125, radical sr3. Bare minimum in a racing game.
It is completely nosense for a game like gt to insert some of racing cars of a category, maybe forcing to race between different years cars. Just put more one-make racing series.
