I totally agree, the ps3 is at its limit with gt5, gt6 would be no better than gt5 is now! How could it be?

Don't get me started. The graphics can stay the same i don't care, they are beautiful enough with the premiums and the new circuits now.

New models, 500 cars, same graphics, new circuits, improved AI, new raceformat and better enginesounds and i'll pay for it.

That should be GT6 for me and it should be on PS3. Otherwise i would have bought a PS3 for one installment as i dont play other games on it almost 👎

Did Polyphony Digital used up all of the Blu ray disc space, like up to 20-25gb? And if they do make a "GT6" on the PS3 then they can select the dual layer upgrade for the game, 50gb.

...and besides, we all know PD and thier release dates. By the time GT6 actually comes out for real, the PS4 will be in our laps.

Yes but take into consideration gt5s development time, it was years! The other gt games were knocked out in no time at all and not on a system at the end of its life span

GT6 will use the same engine as GT5.... :sly:

Add 100 premiums, a LOT of tracks, "and voila"... 5 millon copies (wich I´ll buy day one)

And GT7 will, most likely, use even the same engine but "cranked to 199%"...

Today engines are incredible flexible (and expensive) and it will be ported without any doubt.

well.... forums are forums, opinions are being thrown every which way. Take it all in and we'll have to just wait and see. cause all our bitchin about any of this doesnt mean s**t until an actual press release is given.

Hmmm i highly doubt it... The rumors after GT4 was out for a few months about GT5 coming soon then how many years did it take with them saying "coming this summer" then about a few weeks before the date there would be a delay saying "coming next winter"... If it does come in 2013 great if it doesn't great... I am still having a blast on GT5 i will never sell it... I always find something to do... I ak actually on my 5th profile doing all the races legit again... Whether i am cruising or racing or drifting i am fully satisfied with this game and the whole GT series... Nothing else can compare to this game...

Basically what i am getting at why get your hopes up on something that isn't defiant yet...

I really do hope we get GT6 on the PS3 not PS4. In my opinion, GT6 should be a test-bed preparing for GT7 for the PS4. Make GT6 the game GT5 was supposed to be. Less cars (1000 is too much PD can chew) and all premium. Realistic sounds. Those 2 things will get me sold. Anything else is just a bonus. Then GT7 will improve on everything. More customizations, more car varieties, improved graphics, more realism (launch control!!).

The only thing i really, really want to see differently between gt5/gt6 is faster loading times, more premiums, more car selection(drop 150 of the 90's japanese cars, add more classics, trucks/SUV's, american i-see-those-everyday cars) and maybe tracks.
And i just turned into 1 of those people crying for more stuff :(

GT6 needs to wait till PS4. i dont care how long. I personally would be pissed if they kept GT6 on PS3. GT5 is good for me on the PS3. More DLC should be implimented for GT5 till GT6 comes out for PS4.

Why?

Finish modeling all the cars as premium
model all the tracks missing from GT4
Expand out A-Spec
add a livery editor for people that think that type of thing is important
add some new photo travel locations

Bingo GT6

Why do you insist on posting your ignorant opinion as fact?
What, pray tell, makes what R1600 said ignorant?

Because it is fact that Sony said they won't be announcing the PS4 at E3, it is very likely that they wouldn't do it at TGS, and there is no way that they would do it at Gamescom.

*sigh*. Not this AGAIN.
Same corn, different flakes.

:lol:

Doubt it's GT6. More like GT6P, as many others have said. It would make sense, as pCARS, the biggest threat to the GT series on the PS3, releases in March 2013.

Why would another prologue be a good thing?

Not that it matters because this was a 1 1/2 years ago, but...
http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/2010-11-24-kaz-not-sure-if-gt6-will-be-on-ps3

With GT5 finally releasing today, Yamauchi-san also responded to criticism of the online feature set, revealing to Eurogamer, "Online updates are planned of course for leaderboards and matchmaking - [they're] all planned in the process of evolution."

So, leaderboards and matchmaking huh?

I hope this is a joke...

I scrolled through the first couple pages of replies and didn't see you answering the question of "Why would you want it to be?" That's a very good question. I mean, if GT is a good thing, shouldn't we be wanting more of it? I'm not sure why GT fanboys have grown so happily accustomed to waiting a very, very long time for these games, and acting like not waiting half a decade is somehow a bad thing.

I don't want to wait PS4 to play GT6. Make GT6 for PS3 and then work on GT7 for PS4

Real GT fans would be sharing similar sentiments. GT5 came out in 2010. It's time for a replacement already. We're not supposed to wait for half a decade between installments.

I totally agree, the ps3 is at its limit with gt5, gt6 would be no better than gt5 is now! How could it be?

There's plenty of room for improvement. If you'd get out and play other racing games, you'd know this.

1) 500+ Premium cars, like FM4 (not counting FM4 DLC that followed; just the launch list). PS3 has no limitation to how many Premium cars can come with the game. They could have two-thousand Premium cars if they wanted to, and if disc space was a problem they can use a second disc, or a third disc, and have the player install those cars from the other disc(s). It worked fine for Forza, which was on DVD.

2) Updating all the tracks to look like they're running on PS3, rather than several looking like a PS2 game. Tracks like Trial Mountain are particularly offensive, and Laguna Seca is showing its age. Again, there's no hardware limitation here.

3) Update the menus so that they're faster and more logical, without needing to bounce around confirming half a dozen times (yes, GT5 had an update that sort of improved that a bit) and not configuring the menus so that they look as though intended to be clicked with a mouse.

4) Livery editor. PS3 has no hardware limitation here.

5) Something like Forza's Storefront. Again, no hardware limitation here. Allow me to share with several million players and also allow me to share more of everything, like with Forza.

6) Allow me to save race replays as videos. Forza does. Are we suggesting PS3 can't do this?

7) More car upgrades and more tuning options. Again, Forza has this. Nothing about PS3 limits this.

8) Better rain. Even PGR4, which came out several years earlier on 360, has better-looking rain, and the rain in F1 2010 and F1 2011 makes GT5's rain seem last-gen, not just in terms of aesthetics but stuff like how rain is deeper in some spots than in others (effecting grip differently), how the track can be varying degrees of wet, and how a dry line can form on a wet track, not just visually but also felt by the player.

9) Rubber-in and marbling. F1 2010 did it, so there's no reason PS3 can't do it for GT6.

10) Qualifying and flags. Once again, no hardware limitations here.

11) More control in Course Maker. Really, this isn't as difficult as some people make it sound. We don't need polygon-by-polygon control; just more control.

12) I almost forgot to say "more tracks". Once again, this is simply a matter of disc space, which isn't a problem. Even if they can't get it onto a single disc, they can always go to disc two and have us install it.

Did Polyphony Digital used up all of the Blu ray disc space, like up to 20-25gb? And if they do make a "GT6" on the PS3 then they can select the dual layer upgrade for the game, 50gb.

FM4 had no problem squeezing more content onto two DVDs, so PD should have no problem with disc space, but if one disc isn't enough they can always use two, three, or ten, and just have the players install that other content.

+1. People seem to take to simple view to this subject. This "we need more power to get better!" mindset is certainly incorrect, gt5 on the ring in a premium car is the best looking game on the market, and at this point, I see no purpose to waiting 3 more years for better graphics when we could get an entirely better game soon.

It amazes me how much specualtion people put into 1 release date on some German website..I'm to the point now that i'll believe it when it's sitting on a Gamestop shelf.

It is likely to be prologue. kaz has been quiet lately...plus it's only been > 2 years. there is no way gt6 will come out as a full game in 2013, unless PD burns the midnight oil for the next year.

I just notice some posts, this thread is moving to wishlist slowly.

Actually its alright he have GT5 he can base GT6 from GT5 he don't need to develope GT6 from ground zero, all what happened to GT5 is: things didn't go like what he was planing, thats all, I'm not saying GT6 should be a fully developed GT5 all what i'm saying is in a very small time 2 years is a bit enough.

Unless, he is planing for something really different from GT5.

I mean it kinda makes sense.
PS1 Era
GT1 = Dec 1997 / May 1998
GT2 = Dec 1999 / Jan 2000 (2 years)
PS2 Console released = between March & November 2000 (depending on region)

PS2 Era
GT3 = Apr 2001 / Jul 2001
GT4 = Dec 2004 / Feb 2005 / March 2005 (3 years)
PS3 Console released November 2006 - March 2007 (for most major regions)

PS3 Era
GT5 = Nov 2010
GT6 = 2013?? (3 years)
PS4 Console Released in Fall 2014????

So that kinda kills the "Dead Console" aspect as the PS1 was all but dead when GT2 (basically an update of GT1) came out & the PS3 had been announced in May 2005 shortly after GT4 (basically updated GT3) came out. There is no reason to belive that GT6 won't be the same kind of 'Slightly Updated Shovelware' (for lack of a better term) that GT2 & GT4 were.

Take GT5, throw in a different UI, Qualifying, some new Premiums, Motegi, Bathurst(?), Repaved Daytona, a few more tracks having Time/Weather change (all things which really could be added to GT5 via DLC/Patches for minimal cost to us) and throw the GT6 logo on it and we'll all run out and spend $60 on what amounts to GT5+$30 DLC.

Gt6 would be the release date of gt5 if kaz got his way guys ;P

kaz removes prologue games = at least one year early.

GTPSP wasn't created = another year early.

At this point we should have been tuning in to G4 and listening to the press conference with Kaz duing E3, explaining what GT6 will contain and showing us a trailer, maybe even a demo. But that all has been delayed.

I don't understand why in the hell people want GT6 as a PS4 launch title. The PS3 has a huge base of customers, so why not take advantage? And if you think GT6 for the PS4 is a good idea then ask yourself this: would I pay $400-$600 for a new console just for a single game? That would have you thinking.

Release GT6 for the PS3, and develop GT7 for the PS4. Stay in the "2 games per console" cycle.

Yes, Yes I would for GT6. I'm on the GT5 + DLC for PS3, GT6 for PS4 bandwagon. The PS3 is maxed out as it is, any improvements would be incremental. I'd rather we get a few more pieces of DLC and then transition to GT6 on a new console. Pushing out a GT6 on PS3 would inevitably delay a next-gen GT title, and I really don't want that. My opinion ^

Agreed, if they make the terrible mistake if having gt6 on ps4 then I'm just going to skip out on it. It would only add to sony's losses. This notion that we need more power to get a better game is laughable. There are so many things they could fix and keep the same graphics that it would be an amazing game. Update the tracks to nurburgring and spa quality and it would look like a new game to.
