GT6 coming 1st quarter 2013? (Nobody knows)

Time is what stops them. Plain and simple.

This whole argument has to be put into perspective. The "other" game has the same problem that GT5 had. There very highest LOD modelled cars only number 26 odd, that took them about two years to do.

Fact is, you want content of such a high quality, you are just gonna have to wait for it.

They have time. Nobody would seriously expect 1000 cars in premium quality in 3 years but another ~150 is certainly possible, and would give them a decent amount.

But also you say that it's going to take time to get them up to PS3 quality, how much longer is it going to take them getting everything to PS4 quality, whatever that may be? It's obviously going to take longer, so why not have another PS3 game in the meantime?

Also I don't see what the Autovista cars have to do with anything, they're too detailed for this generation in game anyway.

Talking abt GT6 on PS3 you know that right????????

Yes. Why on earth would they need less cars and less tracks if it were a PS3 game? That makes no sense whatsoever.

Thats the thing, both PD and T10 are already looking towards the next gen. PD have already said that thier car models are future proof, so we will be seeing at least GT5's highest LOD models, aka the photo travel models in the next gen (most likely as gameplay models).

Same for T10. Do you think they started autovista models just for fun?

Yes but like I say, that is going to take even longer. If GT6 were released on PS3 it's not like it would be the last GT game ever, the following games could be on PS4. We just need a content rich PS3 game to tide us over in the meantime.

Personally I would be very, very happy with a PS3 game of the same graphical quality of GT5 at it's best with hours and hours of content, just like GT4. That kept me playing for a long time and didn't even have online mode, GT5 didn't do that but a GT6 on PS3 could.

Quite a big problem actually, so you think pd will release gt6 on a system that being replaced a year later? No chance, Sony will want it as a mega launch title if that's the correct time span.

Well they have before, and Sony is not so stupid as to release it on ps4, then again it would explain why they're doing so bad.

A GT game next gen will take longer to make as standards and the older tracks wont cut it. The newer tracks though are close to next gen standards. They have the accuracy and modelling down, its just the 2D models, some textures and lack of shaders which let them down. Most of them things though can be a one to one replacement.

As for another GT game on PS3, not sure. Why keep adding new features in updates at this stage if you plan to release another game in the near future

LESS cars, LESS tracks but ALL premium, none of these half steps ...Obviously.

Because in 5 years they only managed to pump out 200P, even if realistically they spent 2-3 yrs modeling them, a GT6 in a years time will only see 200 more.

REMOVING standards has nothing to do with the PS3 capability, and all to do with TIME, imo WASTING it with GT4 relics, which could have given us another 200P (since most standards are regional RHD LHD clones) we could have had the most desirable S cars in P, not to mention TIME for other features, use your head.

TIME is running out for PS3, what sense in making a Content Rich yaddayadda at the end of its life??

Enough sense for you?

I agree with DLC for GT5 and GT6 for PS4. However if Sony doesn't drop the PS4 until 2014 then that may pressure PD to drop a GT6 on PS3.

I'd rather have GT5 with a few more updates and DLC then pay for a 50buck demo that's just gonna be a teaser for GT6. (prologue)

For now though I'm in the hope that when the on-line Academy is over, we'll possibly see an update w/DLC in July/August of this year.

Why do you insist on posting your ignorant opinion as fact?

http://ps3.ign.com/articles/121/1216256p1.html

Speaking at a "roundtable with reporters" at CES (as reported by The Wall Street Journal), Sony's Kaz Hirai answered a question about the PlayStation 4 showing up at this year's E3. "Andy (House) is absolutely right in that we are not making any announcements at E3. I've always said a 10-year life cycle for PS3, and there is no reason to go away from that."

Why don't you do some research yourself before opening your big 🤬 mouth and make yourself look stupid again.

Who's ignorant now?

To make a long story short; if you're hoping to see GT6 on PS4, be prepared to wait a very long time. Neither of the 2 have been officialy announced yet even.

If you want that game GT5 should have been, i hope they give it to us before the PS3 is dead...

In retrospect. The word "ignorant" was a poor choice of words on my part. I apologize for that. But that still doesn't change the fact that Sony might pull out a surprise at E3. I doubt it, but it is possible. You stated an opinion (a well founded opinion) as fact. That's wrong.

This is just another speculation and wishlist thread.

Everything mentioned has already been covered here, here, here, here, and originally here.

Oddly, since the creation of the original thread, not one single bit of information (about 6 or it's relation to the PS4) has been released.

In closing, please.. stop.

If you wanna talk about Averages you gotta look at the Averages using the earliest possible release dates.

GT1 - GT2 = 1 year, 11 months, 18 days (718 days total)
GT2 - GT3 = 1 year, 4 months, 17 days (504 days total)
GT3 - GT4 = 3 years, 8 months (1340 days total)
GT4 - GT5 = 5 years, 10 months, 27 days (2157 days total)
Average = approx 3 years, 3 months (1,180 days)
Using this GT6 should be expected around Feb 16th 2014 (Q1 2014)

--------

If you include all 6 main console games.
GT1 - GT2 = 1 year, 11 months, 18 days (718 days total)
GT2 - GT3 = 1 year, 4 months, 17 days (504 days total)
GT3 - GT4 = 3 years, 8 months (1340 days total)
GT4 - TT = 1 year, 1 month, 5 days (401 days total)
TT - GT5 = 4 years, 9 months, 22 days (1756 days total)
Average = approx 2 years, 7 months (943 days)
Using this GT6 should be expected around June 24th 2013 (Q2 2013)

---------

However if you really want to get technical and include all 6 main console games + the PSP game.
GT1 - GT2 = 1 year, 11 months, 18 days (718 days total)
GT2 - GT3 = 1 year, 4 months, 17 days (504 days total)
GT3 - GT4 = 3 years, 8 months (1340 days total)
GT4 - TT = 1 year, 1 month, 5 days (401 days total)
TT - PSP = 3 years, 8 months (1338 days total)
PSP - GT5 = 1 year, 1 month, 24 days (420 days total)
Average = approx 2 years, 1 month, 24 days (787 days)
Using this GT6 should be expected around Jan 19th 2013 (Q1 2013)

---------

Now if you really want to overdo it and find the company average time.... You do the calculation based on every release PD has ever had.
9195684.png

Average = 318 days between releases from PD which using GTA 2012 as the last release date would put GT6 expected around March 15th 2013 (Q1 2013)
**Yes I know I didn't add some demos/concepts because I couldn't find actual release dates for them, and some have a "day added" by the day calculator because sometimes I forgot to uncheck the option to count the release day as an extra day**

It could just be GT6 Prologue.

I hope not. Polyphony needs to just buckle down and actually finish a full game. No more of these glorified demo's you have to pay for. I don't think people understand how much work goes into just making a demo, let alone one as large as GT5 Prologue was. I know that's what they are use to, but their tunnel vision and developing in a bubble is what got them into trouble with GT5. PD needs to stop doing this.

I also see E3 getting thrown around a lot in this thread. No, not going to happen. The handful of sources out there that are close to Sony, and PD, are actually saying Gamescom 2012 is where GT6 is likely to be announced.

How exactly is it a "well founded opinion" when I clearly just posted the FACTS.

As I've stated several times in this thread, it's not uncommon for companies to hide away certain news in order to bring them out at the right time. Having everyone thinking that there won't be any next-gen console talk at E3, and then suddently having the head of Sony on stage talking about it, creates a lot more buzz, than if we knew in advance. Again, It is more likely that Sony is telling the truth, and that they won't announce, or even talk about the PS4 at E3. But it's not a 100% certainty.

PD is busy with GT academy, I highly doubt we'll see anything regarding GT6.

GT Academy as far as development goes is already done, and at this point is probably only being worked on by a pretty small skeleton crew until its online server is shut down.

In my opinion all this talk of gt6 on the ps3 is utter rubbish, it will be at least another year before any signs of a ps4 and that ties in with the minimum amount of time pd would need to develop gt6 or more likely gt6 prologue. Gt5 with dlc tracks/cars and updates will be more than enough to tide us over until gt6, why would anyone want gt6 on the ps3 is beyond me, it can only just manage gt5! After the disappointment of the half baked gt5 on release day pd can't afford anything less than a stunning comeback with gt6, the ps4 is the machine that will deliver kaz's dream of the perfect sim, the ps3 can't do that.

I wish GT6 had a thing where you can change like the GT-R wheel wells to the camaro and make the camaro a camaro GT-R like the Rolex and continental tire series

GOOD. Now that PS4 isn't being announced at E3 this year. I hope to hear about GT6 soon. Which I can see it being on the PS3 right about now. *Relaxes* :)

It really depends on what you want.

For me:
- Take the 100 or so most popular standard cars and upgrade them to premium. Add a few new cars that have been produced since GT5's launch.
- Dynamic time/weather for more tracks. All if possible.
- More tracks in general. Bring the GT4 tracks missing in GT5 back to start.
- Livery editor and storefront/auction house. These aren't essential, but they'd be very nice additions

That'd pretty much do it for me. Then I think:

Do they really need a PS4 to get those done? If so, how long after the console launch would we have to wait? Or if they can do it on the PS3, how long would it take from this moment?

Why did you want GT5 on PS3 then? You saw what they could do technically with Prologue, why didn't you think it was madness then? As for the PS4 delivering Kaz's dream, how do you know that? When you were playing GT4 on PS2 and heard about PS3 I'm sure you thought the same, but there will always be limitations. So what happens when the PS4 isn't up to it? Wait for PS5? People are getting too hung up on graphics and forgetting about content, the thing GT5 lacks the most.

Also let me ask you this. Technically do you have any issues with a premium car on the ring in GT5? If so, what?
