GT6: has it gone 'gold' yet?

That's completely impossible. How do you print all the GT6 copies and distribute them all around the world in 7 days?

Quote from HERE.

"I asked one of the SCEA representatives on hand if the game had gone “gold” yet – in other words, if the final build of the game was ready to be printed onto the retail BluRay discs for distribution. It hadn’t, but is reportedly on schedule and is expected to be ready for production sometime within the next two weeks."

So, according to that time frame, it should be ready by next week ("should" being key word here).

Also, games typically get shipped out a few days before launch so 7 days is more than enough time! They have many pressing facilities, not just one!

Let's just hope they don't pull another GT5 on us and make us wait another month because they couldn't get enough copies out in time.

They better not pull that crap, they've been pushing pre-orders for the past few months now, they should know how much they "should" have and how much demand (or not) there is.

Fingers crossed.

The fact that there are TV adds is enough confirmation for me as TV is very expensive. Advertising is the first to get pulled if there is even a threat of a delay.

Yeah, with less than 2 weeks to go, I'd say it's probably unlikely to happen now. I think there was still around a month to go when they did it for GT5 so we should be ok.

Same here in Canada, I haven't seen anything yet...I don't watch TV much though anyway so maybe I missed it. Tons of PS4 commercials though.

For sure if they are printed and ready to be sent 7 days should be enough to cover the retailers. But that would involve maybe another week to get it ready to print and ready to be sent. I hope so at least haha That's the only way we could get it earlier than December 6th ;D

For people worried about a last minute delay like GT5, don't worry. The reason we're getting it now is because PD is being pushed by Sony to get this last PS3 exclusive out now before it's overshadowed by the PS4. There are features and additions we are getting through a patch later because of this rush to finish. With GT5 there wasn't this pressure, and up until now Sony/PD have been incredibly firm and confident in a December 6 launch. Also the last minute delay of GT5 was only a couple weeks, not great but could've been worse... but then again there were a ton of delays in the years leading up to launch.

That wasn't the real reason. I think due to some kind of mix up they just missed the deadline for Sony's own blu-ray production schedule, so they had to wait for the next submission time later in the month.

Only complication I didn't mention before was world wide same day release... Any miss step by an assistant and we are opening pal disks in the us... :P

While I agree with almost everything you said here, but disagree with the part in bold. They were under A LOT of pressure to get GT5 out, it took them way too long to release - hence getting a half baked game.

I don't think they're too worried about PS4 overshadowing anything, unless another similar style game comes out for it (not too confident in Drive Club taking anything away either), GT6 will still be relevant.

I'm sure it's gone gold already.
stores/individuals will probably be getting their hands on it no later than next tuesday

For a simultaneous WW release you're likely correct in that they need to start pushing the product into the channels.

I've seen quite a few list minute releases but WW same day compounds that risk...

GT is also so popular some goon from the factory usually snags one and starts posting info...

Aren't PS3 discs region free? As long as there isn't a language confusion, which would be easy to spot, everything is ok, right?
