Having spent a few hours with the game here is my initial impressions.

Intro is probably the worst in GT series (Not that it matters)

The game is very accessible to new comers with easy to follow steps, menus are alot better and smoother, however it's really slow when loading the actual cars on the track when you press start race.

Sounds are terrible same old dissapointing stuff :indiff:

AI may be slightly better however in ARcade mode they are all scattered very far from you.

You start with a Honda fit which is annoying but won't matter again.

Career mode so far seems to be the same old grinding crap

Graphics have improved, the new rendering engine is fantastic, so are the physics loving driving the cars .

Not sure what to make of it yet but can't help but feel a little underwhelmed.

Of all the complaints about the game, IMO this is the biggest issue. What point is there in having a larger career mode when this is what they consider "racing"? I've noticed in all the videos so far that the gap between AI cars is huge. This means you're only ever near a rolling chicane another competitor for a couple seconds as you blow by them (in an overpowered car) in yet another attempt to catch the rabbit. Not exactly what I call racing and the less I have to do of it the better, I say.

The first time I tried an Arcade race I couldn't believe my eyes.

That's just poor.

Outside of racing online with your friends, GT5 (and it appears GT6) is pretty useless for anything other than taking photos and teaching yourself The Ring. Thank goodness the great community of GTP makes the online racing so enjoyable! :gtpflag:

I'm by no means an authority on everyone's wants but if I was the grab a few of the larger universal wants they would be as follows (in any order);

  1. Better sounds
  2. Much larger offline career with meaningful progression
  3. Improved AI
  4. Updated standards
  5. Cockpits in all cars
  6. Livery editor
  7. Newer cars (12' 13' 14')
  8. Series racing/rules
  9. "Better" online lobbies.

I'll stop there, but as these are big(er) ticket items, it's only natural that people are going to make judgments about how a few or all have been updated. Nearly all arguments point to a big ticket item (perhaps not listed) and it's just down hill from there if at least one of them wasn't addressed to universal satisfaction. It also makes a whole community feel they just aren't being heard.

I am also hopeful the patch has some larger broad sweeping changes. I'm still a day one buyer but being satisfied and being impressed are very different.

It matters to me. I don't want that freaking thing as my first car. God, who's idiotic idea was this? Could of at least picked a cool FWD car, like the EK Civic Type R.

I'm dropping that POS for a Miata or Silvia ASAP. Since buying the Fit leaves you with 13,000 Cr., it should only take a couple of races to earn enough money.

Man, I can't stand it when games hold your hand like this.

That's what I meant by t won't matter, in 2-3 races after I bought a civic type R.
To be honest it would have been fairly difficult to choose only one since all the standards and premiums are available.

The whole dealership is huge, there's too many cars in the game.

If it's because of too many cars to look at, they should have given you the option of viewing a recommended list of cars that you can buy for 30,000 Cr. or less.

Forcing players to buy a car they may not like, when your first five games have been known for letting you pick what you wanted to start with, is not a good first impression IMO.

Ronda at this moment...

Is that the x2014? or x2010?
I have no idea, I hate the things people who drive them...
I don't know... but the spoiler is little, I think that this RB is the x2010.

Its the X2010, its the only one that's had a life-size model made of it.

Just Ditch the Standards already and be done with.

Somebody on NeoGAF posted this regarding "no standing starts" BS:

;)
Sounds plausible, but...adaptive tessellation should help avoid that, plus what happens when it comes to online...I assume the standing starts still apply there. Plus, there are captions saying "start type" in GT6 implying that there is something other than just rolling...

Sounds like a good ole bun fight. Wish I was jorno getting this expenses paid trip...

The same thing was listed in GT5 start page, there was no option to change it.

That schedule is pretty awesome. Reminds me of the one I got for being with McLaren during the 2011 Brazil GP!

Not much free time, constant transfers.
