Is it true that you can install engine/weight stages non-incrementally?

Like just buy stage 3 straight off?
Apparently yes, but I haven't tried yet. I just started out.
WHY did you report that... it's gonna get patched and now we will NEVER EVER have 230hp Daihatsus... Shame on you :nervous::(
230 hp without other bolt-on and turbo upgrades!

So I used a 15th aniv. car before buying the fit and purchased a set of tires. Now I can't afford the fit and the game is basically locked out for me? Massive oversight if there's no way out of this, other then to delete the save and start over.

Can you use any of the Anniversary cars in the first races?

Perhaps do some online races or seasonals when availble?

go to 'garage' on far screen, then choose 'car list' sell car should be an option. ;)

By the way, post-patch 'Status' menu is so much more easier on the eyes.

Thank you, found it! Bye bye Honda Fit, I never liked your "fat fish" look and design!

I would rather choose my own first car too...
I would rather have the Prelude, my very first car in GT2.

but why so much hate for the Fit?
Why not keep it, and out of anger: customize the heck out of it?

So i got my collector's edition yesterday, downloaded the patch and ploughed through the beginner races and B licenses last night.

Some observations. might not be entirely accurate cos i was sleepy...

My Asia edition freebies include the 15th anniv cars, an additional 3 15th anniv cars, paint chips, 15th anniv race suit and 1mil credits.

As the GT5 i played was on a US account previously, i thought why not download everything on my local account but re sign-in under the US account when i want to start playing. The US account started up fine and i got all my cars and stuff BUT, the credits do not appear in the US account. (I have not started the game using my local account yet).

So i reboot under my local (Singapore) account and the credits go in. So i guess the free credits are not share-able?

I could not sell my FIT until i bought another car (or win a car after racing/license), even with my 15th anniv. cars. Or thats what i thought, some seem to have a different experience so it could be me. After i won my Mito i sold off the Fit. (NO ONE TELLS ME WHAT I CAN HAVE!!!! MUAHAHAHA)

You can't really do anything without buying the FIT because all other options will not be selectable. The game sort of holds your hand as you first start out. So you MUST buy the FIT, cos that's the only way to progress in the beginning.

Garage does not really let you preview the car beyond a small thumbnail. Unless you "change car".

The 15th anniv. cars i tested could not be tuned in terms of exterior mods. No color changes, no wheel changes. On a whim i took out the anniv. Corvette Stingray to the novice FR race and thrashed the competition.

License test golds seem slightly easier to achieve.

Beginner race completion gets you a Mito. All Gold B license gets you a Clio RS and a go-kart. (or the other way around... hmm.. i was too sleepy by this part already)

Here's my Mito in Rhonda. I tried running around with the camera but can't get much further than beyond the bridge. So no free-roam exploration in photo mode. :(

Check out the black grill and de-chromed bits. Rims +1 inch up. BBS RS. All in, more fun! I just wish i could add some serpent stickers to the sides of the car. BUT buying cars and adding exterior parts might become a DRAAAG becos after doing either, you will have to sit thru a cut-scene of the car ...... ...... .......

As observed some of the tracks allow you to run off the track and you can use that to cut corners. It can be done. BUT, if you stay off road too long (not very long actually, just a few seconds), it will reset you back on the road where you went off.

BMWs still look like shiet and the E46 M3 CSL still has the wrong stock-M3 wheels. :(

There are many real-life race suits you can buy. I think the most expensive is Senna's, 500g credits.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

BUT all in all, i am happier now than when i first got GT5 (also on launch). It's more fun. And it made me really "like" some of the cars i've driven. Like this Mito.

That was the fun part about starting the career. Search through the used cars, take a look at what you can afford new, try to see how many races so and so car can enter in.......

Another question, how are the resale values looking so far? :)

I have the Anniversary Edition installed (digital)...at 00:01 (10 minutes ago) I put the game...and BAM! Update 1.01...1207 MB to download...lol...36 more minutes and I can see it for the very first time.

And try those lovely AE cars!! I want to try the Huayra so bad! I love that car.

Also I´m 28 years old and right now even with all the info I know and videos...I´m literally as excited as a 8 year old kid at Christmas trying to open his very first present.

Shall be receiving my Anniversary Edition within an hour. Yes, I want to drive my Huayra as much as you want to.

Apart from being forced to buy it, I don't understand that either. They act like its the most vile thing on the planet. Its not bad and as someone who's done a fair share of driving cars of similar size and powe , I'm willing to bet it'll actually be a fun car to drive around in.

About 25% it seems.

17k fit sells for 5k.
2million GT by Citreon Road Car sells for 400k.

I think it was the same in GT5.

Oh well, that makes perfect sense. The new truck I'm going to buy in the next 12 months or so will probably also devalue 75% when I drive it off the lot...wait what?:confused:..

"Apart from being sucker punched in the jingle bells, I didn't mind meeting your ex-boyfriend". Sometimes the "apart from" is fairly important:lol:

Just another reason to call it the "Not so Real Driving Simulator" I guess.

It makes no sense if you use logic and the game is supposed to be a "simulator". It makes a lot of sense if part of the overall strategy is to make credits hard to come by to encourage Microtransactions or funnel you into grinding or repetitive gameplay. They had a formula for depreciation for the UCD in GT5. I'm sure most of us would have been happy with this same formula applied to selling our own used cars, with an initial "real life" depreciation of 10-15% driving it off the lot.

No no, that's a good bug and shouldn't be fixed. I love fast little cars. ;)
That's almost cheat level though. With the stage 3 turbo and all other upgrades it would have about 600 hp, and that's from a 659cc engine.

Gee, that's crazy high for such a small engine. I do like how high it is, but I understand what you mean. Someone may use it for seasonal events and online.

Guess it is best to fix it then. Awww. :(

I understand PD having a deal with Honda to force us to drive one of their cars early in the game.

What I don't understand is why they force us to buy a car that is on it's way off the market, the new Fit isn't even in the game. :boggled:

Wow...what a beauty of a game.

The intro which I refused to watch before...is amazing...you can feel the passion that they put in it and in the game. And the classic music sounding (which I sadly can´t remember the name of that piece) is just beautiful. At 1080p and 60FPS is beautiful...still one of those that you want to see more times.

In resume...menus are incredibly fast compared to GT5, really intuitive and easy to navigate...set up the cars and the wheel, etc...Super easy...a baby can use it.

The graphics looks way better than any video on You Tube for sure...there are some little issues with anti-aliasing but the overall feel and look once you are playing is really good. (also some videos on YT looks quite dark...the game is not dark at all)
Replays if in GT5 were beautiful...now are a masterpiece. Hands down...there is no game that can beat PD in that regard.

The music is quite classy as in every PD game and I personally enjoy it. They always put the right choice for every menu once you are selecting settings or "working on your car".

I had no problem to use my Anniversary Edition cars, you can even use them or test them at any track even without even touch the career mode...once you buy the forced Honda Fit RS you can skip everything...go to your garage and select one of your cars...and test it at ANY TRACK since the beginning...no track is locked...and no limit in laps. Which to me is amazing.

The Physics are awesome and the only "problem" that I noticed in the FFB is that you can´t feel when the front tyres slide...the loss of the grip is not noticeable even when you block the tyres (the wheel should feel real light and vibrate a little) yet in GT6 the wheel feels a little bit heavier...
But on my G27 with the FFB set to 5, Simulation, and the rest deactivated, you can feel the weight transfer of the car while turning into a corner (yet you will notice that there is no feeling of loosing grip from the front tyres as I said), and you also notice when you are loosing the car from the back.
So in regards to FFB it can be improved...but is not bad at all, is like they can´t put all the details and instead they "balanced" the feedback in giving you the feeling of weight in your hands. Also you can feel the kerbs and bumps and even the elevation changes as well.

The graphics again looks better than in GT5...there are some frame drops (I´m playing at 1080p) in the gallery view but racing alone there is no problems, yet I need to check with more cars since I even didn´t try the licence test of career because I was testing some of my cars on Ascari which to me is one of the bests tracks hands down in this game.
Brands Hatch looks formidable as well.

This game looks really really good so far...I´m impressed even by knowing its flaws...(sound and some graphics details...but hardware is hardware)

I need to actually play this game...but my first impression is like...I want to play this MOAR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 👍

Cheers for PD.
