There's a difference between work offices and factories.really? Toyota, Nissan, Honda, Panasonic, Toshiba...limited output?
One is literally designed for high output...

WHy wouldn't they just hire other japanese designers?I could see that outsiders working with PD would have to do some adjustment to their work hours at the very least, and let's not forget language barrier, would take some months before outsourcing could prove beneficial if PD wanted to give it a try.

Have you ever been working with Japanese people ? They tend to value loyalty more than most of other culture - companies more often treated their staffs like families, getting new people would be something that is last on their work list, which is I believe one of the reasons why PD still maintain such low numbers of employees, or they also having trouble finding prospective designers - don't think Japanese designers move around companies frequently.
Anyway, that is only my opinion, when I was in college, I used to know some Japanese students, they are not easy to work with and they are taking work so seriously most of the time
Probably just extremely high expectations.Maybe Kaz hates signing off paychecks?

I'm inclined to disagree with some things you said up there based on 1st and 2nd hand experienceS with Japanese companies. The "employees are family" thing is not accurate in my opinion. It's not the employers who treat employees differently as much as the employees treating the employer/work differently.
Japanese people live to work and make personal sacrifices in order to perform their jobs. Loyalty is a big factor for employees, yes. They actually respect authority figures as well.
So yes, workers are pretty much lifers when it comes to who they work for but that doesn't mean there are no independent studios PD can hire or that there are are no recent design graduates they could hire.
I know many japanese people, friends, clients. They do take their work seriously BUT are MUCH easier to get along with and are willing to work in groups.
I'm sure they would weed out the ones who couldn't cut it during the hiring stages BUT I doubt they would even consider "outsiders".I see, do you think it will be different the other way around ? if outsiders work in Japanese company ( PD's office for example ? )
Yes but they need to grow or sooner or later they will closeI see, do you think it will be different the other way around ? if outsiders work in Japanese company ( PD's office for example ? )
I think Kaz prefer to keep his old team and not a fan of growing in size.
+1.....let's hope for a Good february......I'm getting kind of tired of PD adding a whole bunch of new stuff, when the stuff that was supposed to be shipped with the game isn't even here yet. "Oh, we made this track with course maker, but we'll just release the track instead while you wait for a feature that is on the box." Not to mention it proves that the "Every Month track DLC" will most likely be course maker tracks, which is disappointing.
Damnit I wanna make a tight and scary rally course!
They have robots for that.
Oh brother... Are some of you even sure that the Red Bell event is on February, or are you just exaggerating? Is the update not gonna be on Jan 31st?
That depends whether you believe anything PD tells us or not.Oh brother... Are some of you even sure that the Red Bell event is on February, or are you just exaggerating? Is the update not gonna be on Jan 31st?
pfffft, if you're a true GT fan, you don't sleep on the night of announced updates.Even when the update comes, people are going to complain about it coming out at 3am their time while everyone else gets it when they're awake.
My biggest fear is a hunch; I think we all genuinely want the franchise to go deep, when the reality is they are focused on going wide...I'm getting kind of tired of PD adding a whole bunch of new stuff, when the stuff that was supposed to be shipped with the game isn't even here yet. 5, actually. We still have 4 days until the end of January... Just saying...
If that keeps happening, maybe we'll never get them.
To be honest, it's hard believe PD nowadays. That depends whether you believe anything PD tells us or not.
If you believe them, then yes, we know the x2014s are coming in february along with the new track.
If you don't believe them, then they are still coming in january BUT that's only if you believed them when they told us they would come in january but since you're a nonbeliever you obviously would not believe them therefore you'll never get the update.
Hope that helps.
In the meantime you can easily, you do not miss anything of importance.........

The amount of expertise on this thread is remarkable.!!!
No matter what subject someone posts about, up pops someone who is a world expert on that subject!
GT Planet is indeed privileged to have such an elite membership.
Just my opinion!!
Nothing worse than going wide when all you want to do is go deepMy biggest fear is a hunch; I think we all genuinely want the franchise to go deep, when the reality is they are focused on going wide...
This possibility has lead to nearly all great past franchises dieing...
From a marketing perspective it makes sense, cast as wide a net as possible, get the most fish... But it doesn't apply to games... Yet it's not a universal industry understanding in fact the surge in social games are creating the illusion that contradicts that point completely... But that's a much larger topic.
