I´m having a crazy idea of the yet to see "course maker".
Having in mind that this new huge track will be based in a real world location it makes me think that we might are not only going to use real locations to make our tracks but what if PD for example gives us the whole planet and we can select a certain place/area, which then will be the sandbox place in where we can make our own tracks using the already made real data.
"Real data" will be the terrain and elevation changes (think as if it is a base plain planet), as if using Google Earth, you go to where Pikes Peak is located and place your "area" there and then you just place the tarmac over the real one where the actual hillclimb is. (actually I made Isle of Man and Bathurst a while back in Outerra Anteworld on PC which is basically a fully rendered planet Earth 1/1 scale with real data which looks exactly like the actual real planet, it has Google Maps included and you can use it to place your roads and such) (also you can get that info the same way PD got their info for the Moon surface...with GPS and satellite data, CAD, etc)
Of course you can´t create it with 100% accuracy but you can create something so similar to what the real place is for sure. Then add some assets (trees, different tarmac surfaces/textures, bridges, buildings, etc)
So no legal issues there (when it comes to track licences) because it will be a "hand made" work from us.

Full stop crazy boy:
Before someone say it: I know that the actual amount of content needed for this is huge (resources, a lot), as huge as the idea of having an entire planet where you can create your tracks, a world that doesn´t look too fake or poorly done when it comes to quality, enough assets and variety so you can make believable environments...etc.

After all...aren´t some of the best tracks in the game those made in real locations but at the same time being "fantasy tracks" or as PD call them "original"?? (those asking for Seattle or Great Canyon maybe have something to say...)
Now I´m not a dreamer, though I know this sounds way too crazy. Also having in mind the hardware and what PD has to do to implement this sort of "massive tool" and how "slow" they are to develop their own ideas...It makes it impossible.
Still...WHAT IF...is something slightly far away similar to that with some real locations picked by PD (as those in GT5 but this time real ones). It can be some sort of that way that PD is going. So "my" idea can be not as crazy at all after all...but for being developed it can take ages in PD´s hands for sure.
Just imagine the possibilities.
It is sad that "just a guy" like me has this kind of ideas and not a multi-million game developer company...
Last thought...I have not a single idea of what the course maker will be as any of you, I have no expectations and I just illustrated what I would do in a "badass" going out of places way.
