Excluding digital sales, so if you would add them up you would reach something like 2.10 million again probably.
Seeing that the second hand shelves in game stores are nicely filled up with GT6 copies by now, i think GT6 will have a tough time reaching 5 million in the end even.
Would like to know how much money Sony put in producing and advertising GT6, to see if those figures would cover the expenses by a large margin. Won't be an issue probably but it is bound to grab the attention of Sony.

I have to wonder how many units Sony expected to sale. If they only expected to sell 3 or 4 million units, then the sales arent a disaster.
All the talk of GT7 coming very quickly has me believing they didnt expect very high sales numbers, meaning GT6 was something like a GT5P, a game to help fund the bigger project, in this case GT7.

Stars are balls of gas floating in space at super high temparatures, not porn. I like the fact that night time in game actually looks like night time. Not just darkness. As for sales, I dont care at all. I enjoy the game, thats all that matters.Either that or they released this half-assed game knowing full well it wasn't going to be much better than GT5 in fact in infinite number of ways it's worse, BUT LOOK AT THE PRETTY PHYSICS

Well, the price drop and GT5's servers going down really soon are indicatives that Sony expected better sales, they both seem desperate measures to help GT6 sell better.

GT5 servers are going down because infrastructure costs money. New game will benefit more from those servers. What desperance are you talking about?

Darkness or stars at the end of the day that's not what will get GT6 back on the right track in most people's minds.
Heck we've had Night tracks before this was made popular SSR5 and SSR11.
Plus even though you're enjoying doesn't mean everyone else was neither that's why this thread was made cause apparently there is enough wrong that's it's affecting the sales of a legendary game series.

He probably have no idea how much does it cost to have online servers that have to host millions of profiles, make hundreds of thousands mathchmaking daily, store photomode data, game save synchro data, GT5 items sending support and messaging, as well as that small annoyance called Time and Drift Trial and Seasonal Events uploading and downloading with millions of Login daily.
It must be cheap. Desperation all over the place.

Why have GT6 on PS3 if it's gonna cost them money supporting it when they could be using that money on PS4's support, it's stupid, maybe they should just drop the PS3 altogether and since you obviously are a Sony representative maybe you could also explain the price drop just a few weeks after release.
Makes sense given that your co-workers and Sony executives said the PS3 would be supported until at least 2015.
GT6 is costing them so much money it's not even funny then and they still plan on delivering monthly DLC and patches, lol wut? They must be crazy.

You're not using that word correctly. GT6 came out. GT5 is now largely obsolete. Therefore, they are going to end support for the previous title after it has already been running online for nearly 3 and a half years and is no longer selling in meaningful numbers. That's not a "coincidence." That's cause and effect.

I guess we are I might have went overboard, but my point still remains basically the game part is missing when y'all find it let me know cause right now I'll be finishing other games either that or returning my copy really soon.

Don't know if you play other games besides GT but 3 years is far from old, GTA 4 is still running, COD 2 and 3 are still running, all the FIFAS are still running. I guess Sony is extremely poor, they can't even keep their best selling exclusive alive for more than it took to develope. But excuses are excuses and apologists never seem to run out of them, it's so obvious but whatever.

I hope you realize you're talking to a user that is more of a critic than you. Rather than just sweeping across and hating everything that is somewhat related to GT, to see it burn like you he is more rational. Nevertheless, he is a massive GT critic and doesn't give any slack to PD, but no one has valid proof still after the several pages this thread has gone through to prove if sales are good or bad.
Doesn't sound remotely close to the dogma and apologist fanatics of GT that weep when they see negatives, because the emotional cord is still attached.

I apologize, to be honest I really don't browse around GTP to see what others have said and done before so I don't really know who is on either side, who hates or loves, whatever, my mistake because I jumped on that conclusion too fast without researching. I usually just respond to what is being said in a particular thread. Also, English isn't my main language so sometimes I can't explain myself as good as I would like to which at times makes me look like a troll. I apologize for that too. Other times I'm just too tired, I barely get any time to sit and type some long posts like other users do, if I had more time I would probably add more to the forums, even positive things.
