So like what I said, did I mention anywhere that this is how the final product will sound? (NO) ,but you'd have to be very optimistic to think you'll get a big improvment.

My optimism is boundless...I just don't get emotionally invested in it so it never leads to disappointment.

But that cuts down the FOV too much. In real life I can see the complete rearview and both side mirrors. It also cuts down your sense of speed quite a bit.

I think our eyes work differently than cameras in the way that eyes are constantly moving and adjusting themselves to see more while cameras can't.

If you attach a video camera to your face and look around a room for 5 seconds, you wouldn't be able to see as much as if you did the same thing with your eyes.

That's how it was explained to me, anyways.

As for the SLS GT3, it does look like it will be very nice to drive. I notice that unlike most race cars in GT5 this has slightly noticeable body roll. Sort of sounds like the Nardo in GT5 but i'll get a final opinion when the demo comes out. Can't wait to see their updated GT500/GT300 line up.

The most forward/zoomed cockpit view is the most "realistic". Unless you drive from the back seat of your real car.

If you're a woman, yes it is. I tried once that narrow cockpit view and I just had to lol. I think it's perfectly realistic from the very original cockpit view and yes I do have a driving license and yes I drive my car like in GT, lol.

You can't see both side mirrors in a real car either, unless you turn your head and look in the direction. If you drive a very narrow single seated car, you can simply look over with your eyes. Yes the most forward camera does need some work. Too bad head tracking doesn't really work.

I can see both side mirrors with peripheral vision. I need to turn my head a bit for my eyes to actually focus & see what is in the passenger side mirror, but looking straight ahead I see all of the windshield & mirrors just not in focus, but I still see them.

Right, that's my point. The windshield or road is the vast majority of your view. If your TV is your windshield, the only thing that should really be in view is the top of the steering wheel. Using head tracking to glance down would bring gauges and the steering wheel logo into view. Then there is the type of vehicle. In a low slung sports car, super car, or F1 car, the wheel would be higher and you'd see more of it.

In a perfect world, we would all have a seamless triple monitor setup from one console.

Wow, you can tell that listening to sound from $20 tv speakers >>> mixed with background noise >>> recorded from a distance by a $5 mic on a cell phone>>>broadcast over the internet>>>played through your $20 tv speakers? Incredible.

I added a bit of extra to that.

Not that I believe that there's going to be a huge sound improvement in GT6, but I wish people could just save their complaints until they've actually heard any sounds.

It's like having an opinion about the graphics based on this:

That just it,you can have a bit of information from that picture, you can post a GT6 picture with terrible quality yet will learn somethings from it,Is it representative of the final quality No,can you learn something from it Yes .

In the video you can actually make out abit how the car sounds (still feels a bit flat)

My opinion on the sound so far is that it's no different from GT5, in terms of overall approach, but I expected that.

However, the particular recording conditions for the SLS GT3 have highlighted the high frequencies, and this will be further accentuated on most speakers (compression tends to introduce top end sparkle, too.)

As such, all you can really hear is the gearbox and the exhaust flow noise. With headphones I can just make out the exhaust samples proper, and whilst I'm almost sure I recognise them from GT5, I don't know which samples they are precisely, and so whether or not they're appropriate.

They could still be placeholder, or certainly subject to change before release, and there is also the faint, almost vain hope that they'll unveil what they've been working on at an upcoming event. I personally believe that's for PS4, though.

Gotcha, I was just stating I can see both my side mirrors, just in my peripheral, as you said irl you could not see both. In my opinion and taste, the further away the camera the better. I like seeing my arms and most of the windshield and mirrors.

I hate the Lambo LP640/670 cockpit because even at the furthest distance it feels so close to the wheel. I think my favorite cockpit seating position is the High End Performance Infiniti G37 or Ferrari F40.

Exactly this, it was one of my biggest grippes with GT5.

This is my ideal view from in-car.

I absolutely hate a view like this that a good part of GT5 cars shared as the furthest back view.

They should just include a slider that allows you to move the "seat" to your liking (Like that "other" game). Baam, suddenly everyone's happy.

Edit: Ignore what game the pictures are from, irrelevant.

Nice to know 👍

I'm guessing you didn't by any chance have time to record any footage of the S1 Quattro right?

It has a different sky than GT5 did though, which means something has changed. Why would they bother changing it if it wasn't to include day/night or weather. My bet is that it will have at least weather.

Well, great. Switch to cockpit view at the last moment. I was going to look at the clock. Oh well, thanks for sharing!

Although the lighting of the sky is different, the clouds are positioned exactly the same as the GT5 version.
