The new site is up. Basically what I did was build the index (again lol) in Google Sheets, and import the spreadsheets over to the site using Google Gadgets. This allows me to include filters and interactive controls. It's been nearly a decade since I worked with code, so I left the OLD lists right under the new ones just in case all this doesn't work. I rolled this version out faster than I wanted to, but the updated tunes really needed to get up. Things I still have to do: compare the lists entry by entry to make sure I didn't miss a tune, fix the double-tuner error in the Tuner filter, finish adding Real Replica tunes (sorry guys the filter's been fighting your tunes for some reason) and find out how to remove 'console is undefined'. Also, I only have the interactive lists for the Main and Super GT categories. I am building the others next. Lastly, many tuners and users sent me messages with suggestions. I think we all remember a few pages back a lengthy "debate" over suggestions too lol. That's why this version is up. I said I would listen to suggestions and I meant it. This version is the best culmination of everybody's ideas I could muster up. I really hope it works out and I really hope you guys see a little bit of yourselves in this version because it was created by and for all of you.

note :
HSV-010 GT Base Model '12TUNERXANDE1959600All
there was an error in this segment is tuned to, belongs HaB Racing's

I'll fix it. I still need to re-check every link. I've already found a couple ones I entered wrong. My apologies to anyone that has a tune tied incorrectly!

The main page shouldn't time out, it's programmed so the embedded gadget acts independently of the page, this is also the case if there's a problem with the gadget. The list below the gadget should be fine, and load separately (and usually before) the gadget. That's how it's all still working for me. I have insanely slow wifi and everything loads within 10 seconds. Can anyone else test it and give us feedback as to what you experience?

Edit, @redrick, google servers just went down and came back up. This has happened several times today, if that's causing the issue I apologize.

Also, while it's on my mind, how many of you would be interested in the actual index itself, say uploaded as an attachment once a week, so you can download it and edit it as you see fit?

Thanks, but I kinda hate it right now . It's ugly, I really need to work on a different template. The first version was function following form, this version is form following function and it's driving me nuts lol. I just mean colors, layout, and fonts, it's all so 1990s to me :scared:.

Wow, Great job. Was just in the main page looking all over and trying out every button. The ability to bring up every tune by a specific tuner, by tire type and even pp is a great option. I noticed once you enter one tuner name there is no way to erase their name and therefore when you select another tuner you end up with both of their tunes. I simply clicked on the drag tab and reentered the main section. Same goes for tire selection, once one specific tire is entered if you add any other tire choices all the choices show. Again just click on drag tab and reset the filters.

The ability you have given the community to pick and choose is fantabulous, thank you

It should show which filter you've chosen in a little box just below the filter. The box should have an X which will reset the filter to "select" and show all the tunes again. If this doesn't work please let me know. I'm glad it's helping!

Still down, or down again, as of this post. Yeah, index would be cool.
It's working now. Is the whole site down or just that page? Can you see the old list under the gadget? Is it possible you're blocked from all google sites? If we still get nowhere I may have other options but I'm honestly not certain why you can't get it to load. If push comes to shove and you can get every other page except for the main list, I may just make a master "all tunes" page via the old version and update it a couple times a week in the event folks can't access the new version's main list. I do apologize for the frustration. If you still can't get it to work, tomorrow morning I'll come up with something to get you up to speed. I'm still at work right now (on break lol).

Sorry for the triple post, but I didn't want to add this to redrick's reply.

So, you tuners want to know something cool? How many people do you think visit your threads? One an hour, one a day? Maybe a little more, maybe a little less? Well in the first ten minutes I took the site off share, I got 85 share requests from all over the world, 56 from Japan, and 29 from females (thought that was interesting lol). In the total time the site was down, about an hour, I got over 250 share requests. So in just one hour over 250 people, for certain, were using the directory to look at your guys' tunes! Who knows how many more just didn't send share requests. If you do some very rough stats, over 6000 people are looking at your tunes everyday. So as I've always said, just because your thread isn't dozens of pages long doesn't mean tons of people aren't using your tunes. Cheers!

I get messages from people every day in game, that I dont know from this site's member list.
there's a lot of lurkers on this site, anon ect.

Ive come to the conclusion, that there is about 5 or 6 major groups/catagorys that drivers fall into. This is mainly style of drive. The people who really like my tunes, would follow just 1 of those groups. And they might hate someone else's because of it. And likewise, someone who loves say, something someone else did, might not be able to use mine at all, lol.
my point is, like you said, multiply that into your group of 6,000 people, and the 15 or 16 garages we have on this site, basically cover "all the worlds driving styles"
That is an awesome way to look at it :)
I only share my tunes, because I would like to help others if I can, and in GT5, I got a lot of help from motor city and priano, and feel it is only right that I give back to the community. I thought I was only helping the people I see here in the tuning forum. I had no idea how big we really are talking, lol.
im proud to represent one of the 6 major styles, and all of you should be proud of yourselves. This info will make us try even harder. :)

Thanks again XS for being the major role you are in all of this. Together, this forum makes a lot of happy people around the world ^^

Just the "Main" page is down. Still down as of this post.

 Wow, so amazing! :D

A little problem with your slider control, is when set at max / max PP, you can't get the slider back. Nice layout anyway :)

How do you want us to post our tune here so the integration is easier for you ?

You know what would be cool for future wishs? (Lol)

Wouldnt it be neat if garages were a filter?
Like, if say I liked one of motor city's tunes, I could hit motor city next to the car name, and bring up a list of his tunes?
Just an idea, lol.
spreadsheets are very cool

It's a double slider, both little boxes move, so unfortunately you gotta be kind of careful not to tuck one box under the other, otherwise yes it is difficult to separate them. I don't have a fix for that unfortunately. As far as submitting tunes go, just do as you guys have been. I have a formula entered into the spreadsheet that is hidden from view so I just copy and past the url for the post the tune is in directly into the html tag. It's actually pretty easy, it just looks like this: <a href="" target="_blank"></a> as opposed to the bb code we're used to on the forums.

I still cannot get the main page or the Super GT page. All the others come up immediately. The "Main" page and "Super GT" page display three moving dots (like the waiting dots in GT6) for about half-a-minute and then it says, "Error: Request timed out".

I'm not sure what you mean by gadget but I see no old list anywhere. I can't be blocked from google sites as I can get all the other pages. I have a gigabite wired network and no trouble with other sites on the internet. Any help greatly appreciated.

Thank you,

Rick

The "gadget" is the box with the three moving dots. If you scroll down the old list is underneath that. Unless it's the entire page, links, background, and all that fails to load and not just the content part of the page, you should be able to see the old list. Something I thought of is make sure that Active Scripting, ActiveX, and Java aren't being blocked by your browser, and make sure you have the latest service pack downloaded for your browser. I'm running both an old Internet Explorer and Google Chrome and both display the pages fine so I'm more inclined to think something in your settings is blocking active scripting.
Edit, is this what you're seeing? This is how the page displays when I take down the spreadsheet so it can't load. But I can still scroll below this and see the old list. If you're getting timed out of the entire page then I'm kinda confused. I'd still check if your browser is blocking scripting.

Yes, if I scroll down far enough I do see an old list. Is this "old list" kept up to date? I use Firefox. Never heard of "Active Scripting" but will look into it. Perhaps it's something I need to add on.

The old list is three days old, so it's missing some tunes, most from Real Replica Tunes, 2 from Praiano, 5 from Arrakis Speed Shop, 1 from The Devil's Garage, and about 10 from Tune 6 by C-Zeta, all out of a total of 861 tunes.
Honestly, instead of going through your settings, I'd just download Google Chrome, if you're not opposed to Google products. That's what I had to do to edit the list, even though I can view it in Explorer.

Very nice work! What about a section on the top Page where u can see, which setups are new, maybe the last 10-20 Setups? That would be nice!

You could only edit the list with Google Chrome?. Sounds like a bit singular problem to have to change browsers over. I don't need it that badly and can use IE if I really need to view it.

I cant believe anyone still uses IE at all.

I know I know, the latests version isnt like it used to be, blah blah blah.
A piece of poop dressed in a pretty red bow, doesnt stop it from being a piece of poop.

I use dolphin on my phone, and chrome on my comp.
the laptop in my house is on IE and I dispise using it.

Theres an old joke, about "what is internet explorer for?"
And the answer is, "its what you use to google a new browser when you get a new computer. "

I can edit the list in whatever browser I want, but Chrome didn't crash every two minutes like Internet Explorer did. It was just an alternative suggestion to editing the scripting settings in your browser.

Hi XS, I must say, you seem to be putting in an enormous amout of time and effort into running your directory(not that I'm surprised) and my word how much it has come along since you started it. I really think your changes for the latest version are superb. Car searches, tuner searches, performance searches...where will it end?!

I would once again like to thank you on behalf of all of us out here in the wide world of GTPlanet, tuners and non-tuners alike, for selflessly putting in this Herculian effort to help us all enjoy our GT expierience that much more. We all owe you a huge debt of gratitude at the very, very least.
