Tried some daily races on Bathurst, this was fun. I’m not very quick, but I’m still learning
This thread is really useful for me. I’m running with “abs weak“, and everything else off. Do someone use active stability management (ASM) or countersteering assistance? I don’t se any quick way to cut 6 second from my 2:07,xx laptimes. It’s crazy to se lap-times close to 2 min…

I can see the race settings allows a lot of driving aids, hope some future races come without any aids, including ABS off 😁

Take a look at this video. This helped me a lot.
Sector 1 and 3 for me I was not really losing time but sector 2 I was losing a lot of time. The top drivers are able to lift and coast in some places were as I was always on the throttle and brake.

Credit to @D_Dragline for the lap.

I'm now at that point where I love the challenge of the race, love racing against "real people" and not caring about the points since there is no way I can find out exactly what my point level is nowadays since PD shut the data door from Kudos site for GT7 data

Can you still track DR through KP on Sport? Like, after doing some races on 7, log into sport so it updates, and then check your Sport DR? Does it transfer backwards too? 🤔

It would have to be backwards compatible too wouldn’t it? Otherwise you could lose all your DR in 7, then just reload your account from sport and get your A+ back again in theory.

No, according to KP I'm still a C Rated driver, in GT7 I'm probably a low D, the rating transfer was only applicable for that week or so before GT7 went live, you cannot reload and regain past rating...

Daily B has been a dream to race today. Really clean racing and some very close finishes. 0.6 between 1st and me in 3rd across the line at one point, was like that for the whole race, really enjoyed that one!

I was hit and made to spin out but the guy got no penalty, it's so infuriating! What do you guys think about this one?

Meh, I've seen then given as a 2 second but for me there's not enough contact there for a penalty, it's a knock, i's unfortunate for you what it led to, but it was hardly intentional.

I agree it wasn't intentional but he still span me out, he should have been punished for that. It was the last lap so I had no way to catch up.

This is how far you went into the corner despite bouncing off the Beetle:

Thank you for such in depth analyst. 100% five * explanation and hope those " Deep Drivers " take note and stop ruining decent folk races. Respect
That's literally the point at which you stopped travelling perpendicular to the corner, trying to turn against your direction of travel (or "understeering"), and started to move in the correct radius, after contact with the Beetle. And the contact with the Beetle would have slowed your progress perpendicular to the corner, so that's how far you understeered despite contact correcting your course.

To reiterate, if the Beetle hadn't been there to help slow you down, you'd be in the outside barriers. Somewhere around two thirds of the way round the turn.

Hmmm..i can see the argument from both side on this. If that was me I would be pissed if I got a 2 sec penalty as it wasn’t a deliberate push or attempt to spin you out, but then also I wouldn’t be too upset if I did get a 2 sec.

I think what doesn’t help your cause which maybe why a penalty wasn’t issued is the fact you also hit them when you was sideways. Im wondering if the game saw there contact and was going to issue the penalty but as you also made contact with them the game saw that and cancelled them both out?

This will never happen. Almost all of the aids make u slower anyway. Top drivers have ABS on default setting (putting it on 'weak' is pointless). Only thing i see PD doing is ban countersteering assist online like they did in GT Sport after a while, since in some instances that is OP (karts react way better on kurbs with counterstreering on). There is no reason to punish casual racers just because u want races without assists (while ur faster without them).

How about race c having contact damage and no ghosting. Or a race D that runs once an hour. Damage and no ghosting would add a massive amount to racing online. I know it could be carnage but it also might make people think twice. The inconsistent ghosting is annoying as it is either way.

Got my first second place earlier in the week in the B race , started from second place and kept it all race.
Then got my first win the next race starting from pole. Lost a position half way in the race, but managed to claim the lead back the next lap and hold on to the end.
This has helped me climb from a D rated driver to a C rated driver. Figured I was somewhere near the top of the D's as I was getting a few C / C rated drivers in the races.
Wish that you could see what the ratings are so that you can see how you're doing toward the next level

I guess it's Subaru week then!

Returning to work and a small setback medically have made it difficult to get on in the weekday evenings at the mo so the weekend is the only time I really get to play with a clearer head, not a huge fan of this as it gives a lot of players a headstart but it is what it is for now.

Skipping Race A as well this is just not interesting at all.

Race B- Since Deep Forest returned it's become my 'test' track of sorts, I'll jump on here to try out all sorts of new cars as it's a relatively short track, beautiful of course, with a good mix of turns and straights in there. Backwards it seems awkward, unlike a few others which play well both ways, this just seems like even the sight lines are affected going into the turns, it just all feels off. However after just a few laps running I'm typically top 5 starting and competitive pace in the race so won't bite the hand that feeds... the racing has been a lot of fun as well so far. It benefits from being short as even backwards it's very quick to learn and get the hang of.

Race C- Just a sidenote first, I don't think those coming straight to GT7 can fully appreciate the different between Bathurst on Sport and Bathurst now. I used to consider it the ugliest track in Sport, with harsh, cartoon like lighting and some really ugly textures around the track. It's night and day (no pun lol) with what we have now. the track is superbly detailed and the new lighting is wonderfully realistic and beautiful, hitting the top of the mountain as the sun glares through the windshield is awe inspiring, especially coming from Sport.

Track is tougher too, throws you around more, is a lot more realistic but oh wow does the VW just ignore all that or what? The thing glides through the mountain sector like I'm driving on pillows 😂 I have got better times in the WRX though, but still running at the back, just can't get that confidence through the track in the night time but there are places to be gained from penalties, spins and a lot of people quitting from the most strange of places but hey whatever, I'll take it. It's perhaps too tight for racing, but a supremely fun drive and gorgeous to look at.

I don't know if that would have been enough to keep me coming back all week but for a few weekend runs it'll do. I long for them to switch things up and rotate the races more often though. The mode is already starting to feel stale.

Race A has been a very nice combo this week, to the point that I've caved in and done my first daily races on GT7. Something I never thought I would do, after getting bored of Sport Mode with GTS.

Nevertheless, the S15 has been a fun car to balance on the limit, certainly a great way to teach you how to be smooth. Lobbies have been a little mixed in terms of DR though, even at 'peak' times, with things getting more varied at off-peak times. And this is on PS5, so not sure if it's worse for those in PS4 lobbies. Still, good fun either way.

Fun daily race but kills your DR. Had mine drop from A back to B earlier in the week even though my results were good. Had to stay in Daily B the rest of the week and finally back to A.

Pls don't shoot me but 2 questions:

1 - How do I get my shared, saved replays onto the PS App?

2 - How do you guys transfer your saved replays onto YouTube?

Thank you!

On a separate note, was getting sick and tired of starting next to ramming donkeys on Daily B. Previous best qualy time I had was 1:33:32 and had me starting 7 - 10 depending on lobby. Noticed that those with a 1:33:1 usually start top 3 and we'll far from the donkeys.

Just spent almost 2 hours trying to improve and finally...

Ironically, it's Saturday so I only get to enjoy my achievement for a day before everything changes again 🤣

Update: Race 1 started 3rd and...

Yey 🤣🥳

Replays are not saved as a video, that would take up way too much space for each one. Instead it's telemetry data that only GT7 can open up to show the gameplay.
In order to upload it anywhere, you need to capture video either with the internal recording function of PS4/PS5 or with a PC via a capture card.

And that's the only way to get them up to Youtube

What is wrong with some people? They get so angry over such little things.
Race B someone behind was clearly quicker than me but I was in no position to let them by as it was going through the twists in Deep Forest. Any they get by and I slip stream and past again. At the hairpin I’m not in the perfect position so have to brake a bit harder but the car behind slams into me. After that they tried to ram me off the road.

If I’m in wrong here then fine I’ll hold my hands up, but I don’t think I am in the wrong?

I managed 🙂 Increased screen recording limit from options, watched replay with Share (record) on and then used the YouTube app to upload. Created a new account lol.

Here is my qualy lap using controller and zero assists.

Possible penalty was applied at race end?
No it wasn't unfortunately!

I think this is the best explanation, unfortunately I wasn't in control of my car due to his contact. It's always interesting to review these incidents and really appreciate the feedback here.

That is not an elementary rule, and in that case i should be understood if i decide to do the same to each person that has did way worse to me if i go by your understanding response, also since you decided to speak that, do you practice what you are preaching to me in every race, every situation? Everyone else that has spoken has had very good input but i find your response very double edged and aggy
I did almost the exact same move on someone on the final corner of a race back in GTS. I felt that it was questionable but he left so much damn space that I felt I had to take it. He didn't quite turn into me so much as I smacked into him on the later part of the corner but got the position.

I wasn't sure so I asked him if it was dirty after the race and he said that it wasn't the cleanest but he was okay with it. Personally, I learned that just because there is an opening, I have to make sure that I know what the guy in front is doing. Luckily he was cool about it, unlike that dude in your clip.

True ,

Vert true, i have been watching how others drive more closely since then and because all the advice the fellas gave me in here, so im more careful when i see people go very wide and i dont, but then again i have been able to better judge & hear when its not intentional and they are actually messing up
