I guess it's Subaru week then!
Returning to work and a small setback medically have made it difficult to get on in the weekday evenings at the mo so the weekend is the only time I really get to play with a clearer head, not a huge fan of this as it gives a lot of players a headstart but it is what it is for now.
Skipping Race A as well this is just not interesting at all.
Race B- Since Deep Forest returned it's become my 'test' track of sorts, I'll jump on here to try out all sorts of new cars as it's a relatively short track, beautiful of course, with a good mix of turns and straights in there. Backwards it seems awkward, unlike a few others which play well both ways, this just seems like even the sight lines are affected going into the turns, it just all feels off. However after just a few laps running I'm typically top 5 starting and competitive pace in the race so won't bite the hand that feeds... the racing has been a lot of fun as well so far. It benefits from being short as even backwards it's very quick to learn and get the hang of.
Race C- Just a sidenote first, I don't think those coming straight to GT7 can fully appreciate the different between Bathurst on Sport and Bathurst now. I used to consider it the ugliest track in Sport, with harsh, cartoon like lighting and some really ugly textures around the track. It's night and day (no pun lol) with what we have now. the track is superbly detailed and the new lighting is wonderfully realistic and beautiful, hitting the top of the mountain as the sun glares through the windshield is awe inspiring, especially coming from Sport.
Track is tougher too, throws you around more, is a lot more realistic but oh wow does the VW just ignore all that or what? The thing glides through the mountain sector like I'm driving on pillows 😂 I have got better times in the WRX though, but still running at the back, just can't get that confidence through the track in the night time but there are places to be gained from penalties, spins and a lot of people quitting from the most strange of places but hey whatever, I'll take it. It's perhaps too tight for racing, but a supremely fun drive and gorgeous to look at.
I don't know if that would have been enough to keep me coming back all week but for a few weekend runs it'll do. I long for them to switch things up and rotate the races more often though. The mode is already starting to feel stale.
