Next week's races are up on GTSH early...

Eiger (likely in Gr.B since there's tyre wear) + a dirt physics improvement showcase is kind of what I was expecting them to do this week, to be honest.

Probably stick in race b next week, as usual but I’m very happy about Suzuka, another proper racing circuit for us and medium tyres! 👌

Personally I hope it’s gr4 and the bop works for the g70 still - that’ll be a good week.

I’d take gr3 though.

MEDIUM tyres! 😝 I reckon that’s when the update might work better, with more grip for us 🤞

Who remembers their last DR E race? :D Mine was a bit messy (plus you hear me talk).

Wow, that was fun to watch, the inside was rattling a lot, xD. You almost had it, Sharky won! So, VR is a reality, I assume.

@brockie Medium tires work better for you, I always thought the hard tires gave more grip making the car drive more smoothly and having a stable driving experience.

No the softer the tyre, the more grip. You’ll be able to lean on them tyres a little more next week. Soft would be a nice touch here and there, on short circuits

Did a bit of messing around with some oddball cars in QT for Race C. Believe it or not I set my fastest overall time of 2:05.2 in the Mustang. It actually felt really good around there. I think I can easily find another 1 second there as I only did 10 laps with it and some of those were penalty laps. The Viper was strangely good too, only .2 slower but much harder to get the braking right. Weirdly it was much better running at -2 BB.

Trial Mountain Gr3 - Trifecta

I forgot to tell you all before I dozed off, I picked up my 5th win at TM around 2-2:30pm. I'm waiting for the video to upload. I also saved the replay as a backup too. They were riding my tail, so I had to take defense and block them. I got a CRB as well.

After 4 races my DR bar is full 100%, one more good race and I will get a C ranking. I worked hard yesterday and today!

Back at it for more Trial Mountain. I didn't improve my time in my first practice session so that was a bummer.

My first race was a disaster as I forgot to brake entering turn 1 and went for a ride. I had to apologize mid race for that one. I finish P14 for my troubles. I had to take care of some stuff and that took priority and I quit the game.

I came back a few hours later and got my time down to a 1:52.8XX so that's a great improvement. I start P3 this time and hold on there for the first 2 laps. I miss-time my entry for turn 1 and drop to P10 after I recover. Thanks to a big wreck on the final lap, I finish P7.

I'm still getting used to the physics, but it was easier to drive the Huracan compared to yesterday. I'll try the Porchse again and see what happens.

@Chris30

Don’t rush to the higher rankings, it’s literally filled with fragile egos and dirty drivers. Literally pass people higher on the grid clean, then they just missile into you and leave the lobby. I wish GT had a review system like iRacing to get all these toxic players out of the community.

I've been running the Porsche there and have been lovin' it. Did some laps yesterday to re-learn the course but the car has felt pretty planted. Same issues as always, really, watch for oversteer at T5 and understeer at T12. Place feels pretty good, actually...RM's would be nice, though.😁

Good effort, wins are super satisfying when everything just falls into place. I’ve not had a win in a few weeks, I almost had a win at TM, couple of crashes ahead saw pulling up to the leader and we were 2 wide heading up the hill after the long straight and we came together! 😁

I met fake Famine last night, he liked my Lamborghini so much he didn't pit and took the 1 minute penalty to get a better look:

It was actually a interesting experiment because I did the whole race without changing tyres to keep the gap (was half a second from working 😔) and the fall off isn't bad, hopefully that means pad is a lot closer to wheel now than it has been in the past.

I was so annoyed I threatened him in the strongest possible terms that doesn't result in a PSN ban (I fully understand if the real @Famine thinks the language is too strong for the GTP AUP and deletes this post):

Oh I'm not rushing. As a matter of fact I think I'm gonna keep my ranking between a B or C if I can. I will say that PD went down on the harshness of the penalties because in my 5th race at TM, I hit the rail hard twice an didn't receive anything.

@GOTMAXPOWER Lol, you better be glad it wasn't the real Famine! The fake Famine said he wasn't inviting you to his birthday, his may not be that special anyways, xD.

How is default abs with the new update? Ive been doing lots of laps with it off and on weak. Still haven’t tried default, yet.
I ran a 190 mile session for the laptime challenge at Tokyo, using weak ABS. And the braking was very inconsistent. Sometimes I would be able to stop it at turn 1, but then the next lap, braking at the same point, I would plough through the apex all together.

Still managed a somewhat respectable 02.9 there (now top 22) But was struggling to beat drivers I would normally clear comfortably by several tenths. Weak ABS might feel good, but no way can you use it now If you want to shoot for world beating lap times.

I got my rank up to a C, take a look. I finished 4 races at TM in 2nd place, and won 1 race yesterday, the last two I finished 3-4th. So, I had 7 top five finishes over a 36 hour period.

I have to be consistent and win as much as I can and keep finishing anywhere between 1st and 6th.

Good going man, I reckon CS is where you belong, being your name too! Let’s hope you don’t have to change your name to Boris! 🤣

Hot damn, the R8 Evo is trash around Mt. Panorama. Tried a few runs with my alt account and it's easily 2 seconds + off the pace. Plus, once the rear tyres start to go, there is no quick way down the mountain without the back-end sliding out from behind you. What a sad mess. They nerfed ma baby.

I got Error E2-CE210610 in middle of a race. It also seemed that everyone in my lobby was kicked out, if the screen just before the disconnect is to be believed. Googling tells me that this is most likely a server-side issue.

PHG_Papa is running fine on his live video, though. So it is not a big outage, I guess.

Edit: My race counter did increase but DR and SR are unchanged. And now I have a new error code NP-104602-3, lol.

Edit 2: I was able to race again and it was fun racing with PHG_Papa and @Talon16 (although I never saw Talon around me as he was brutally murdered somewhere on the mountain).

I met him too, he didn't last long, neither did my A rating 🙈🙈

Try the mustang, just for laughs. It's actually very good and very stable around there. I haven't much time as my wife is about to pop our future f1 world champion but I'm convinced that car has speed in it. I found the R8 and lexus horrible,

First night I had some time to put some laps into Race B practice - Will admit took me a while to find my favorite car and wheel settings but I think I have what I wanted now. Still need to tweak some things, including (obviously) my own driving 😂 but so far, building up my confidence with each lap.

Haven't done a race yet, though! Also @newmedia_dev what happens now?! 😬😂

Have a nice evening! Off to bed, good luck at the races!

What happens now?

I think about it and decide if I can be bothered to race any more.. ;)

I tried the Porsche to see if I could improve my time but I was half a second or off off my best time. I should get it with more practice however.

Race 1 has me in P6 to start and I immediately get turn 1 wrong and fall to the back of the field. Still, some good racing back there and I make a sweet pass on the final lap in the huge sweeper after the backstretch for P7. I lost SR as there was a lot of contact.

Race 2 I switch back to the Huracan and it has me in P4 this time. I survive turn 1 on the first lap this time! Then I have a huge spin in turn 1 on lap 2 and it was all my fault. The tire model is working as I lost all grip and around I went. I'm not even mad at that one. I finish P12 after running by myself.

Back to the Porsche for Race 3 and start P2. No spins, but I came close a few times. I fall to P4 and have a nice battle with P3 but can't make a pass. Again, some some contact that I have no problem with.

My final race puts me in P4 and I have a moment on lap 1 where I come down on a river as they were going for the littlest of gaps I left entering the tunnel. I make a great save and continue on. I get to P6 entering the final lap when P5 clips the barrier that sticks out entering turn 1. There is a huge smoke cloud and I check up and make it through with no troubles and finish in P5 with a clean race bonus.

I think my time with the Huracan is done for now as it's a handful to control. It was before, but it's too much for me now. I'll stick with the Porsche the rest of the week and see if I can't get my qualifying time down.

Have a good night mate! I'm very pleased that after 5 races I jumped up to a mid-C, before I was stuck at a low D.
I did 7 races and 4 of them I finished in 2nd place, and one I came in first, the other two i finished in 4-5th position. So I was having a good lucky day in terms of the lobbies. A bunch of C/D drivers and then my last race was full of B and C drivers.

So, how was your day?

If reports like this started with e.g. “Race B:”, it would be awesome. Or at least mention which daily we are talking about at a very early point, - quite easy to do, and would just be so lovely.🙏🏻

I have a confession to make about yesterdays race C:
I shame quit. I did something that could only be interpreted as me being a complete arse, I freaked out and quit after T2.🤯
I started P3, but braked too early for T1 and two cars swooped by. At T2 I was on the inside, missed my braking mark completely and managed to take out both of the cars that overtook me, and I drove out of the turn unharmed. I felt I had just by accident become the most evil driver who takes out anybody who overtakes him. It would have looked like a perfectly executed “revenge” for my own mistake.
My initial reaction was to slow down, but then quickly realized that I did not know for whom I would be waiting. Then I just quit. Certainly not my proudest moment.🙈
I hope that me quitting would have left them an indication of my lack of ill intention (if they watched the replay). Oh well…

Apart from that, I have had a good time at Bathearst. Do you guys change tires? It feels like I don’t do slower laps in the end without changing them, but then again, I am not fast to begin with. My race laps are at 2:08-2:09 (if no traffic or mistakes). I imagine if race laps were 5 seconds faster, tire wear would be harder and changing them would make more sense (like Tidgney recommended).
