Ive really been enjoying the racing I've gotten the last few weeks. After only getting to do a couple hours of racing sunday night the past two weeks and having great racing, has made me go for a bit everyday after work this week.

Over the course of all that i went from a high/mid B to a low A which has generally had me racing mid to rear of the pack most races. Which is fine cuse I've had some really good and clean competition in each one. Yeah some stuff has also happened that put me at the back, but it honestly felt like honest mistakes and racing incidents. Here is an example of the grids I've been getting, top ten are only .5 apart.....

I hope to do more racing through the weekend. Say hello if ya see me. And feel free to send friend requests

This was the line up for my first race after moving from DR B to A yesterday. Talk about a getting chucked in the deep end.

Didn’t make a single overtake and tried to hang on to the slipstream of the drivers ahead and stay out of trouble. Thankfully 6 drivers crashed and only one overtook me. Which I didn’t fight at all.

Have done two races since and there was no A+ drivers thank god

It's maybe 600 percent doing well but you loose 600 percent if you don't do well which I think is totally wrong and unfairly because the fact you work so hard to get a DR rating high when no bonuses are there also the miss match of cars you use but if something happens while in a race you are unable to catch up and of course ppl doing bad things like taking you out.
Frustration is strong with this one...what's going on?

Chasing DR can be an aggravating affair. If this is just a vent moment, that's cool, we've all been there...if not daily. In the end, though, you are much better off just kinda letting that part 'happen' while you try to enjoy the ride and maintain your SR rating.

That said, I/we've no idea where you're at on this journey (Dr/Sr rank, how long playing, etc.) so a bit of context could be hugely helpful.😁

Welcome aboard!

I don't think any other streamer production values as good as SparksTheory

@GOTMAXPOWER you are the star of this one 🤣

I don't think any other streamer has the energy levels of that man! That was our 3rd race, the first one I braked too late and hit him, the second one I missed the same corner and rage quit from the penalty. He made them into shorts so I could never forget 🤣

DR is a necessity and evil. I must admit I got into the chasing aspect. My old account which is mid A, stressed me out that I wasn't that good so hours would be spent on practice for races only to then feel that I wasn't ready so wouldn't race for fear of losing the DR, so I started to race less...

My current VR account I am high B. Now I'm not racing much in sport at the moment as, in VR, I have more fun in a variety of regular cars so I am doing the TTs, the non-sport weekly races and working through all the single-play content. But, I did notice that as I approached DR A on this account, my stress level started to increase again. The feeling that I need to practice more and more to be competitive in a race starts to rear its ugly head....

I liked race A this week (to a point). No stress, regular car, but I only did a few. Weirdly for no stress, it needs DR... I can easily lead from the front and win, which gets boring. With no DR, there is no progression against harder races so the race becomes dull.

I don't know what the solution is, but I do wish for more non Gr.4 and Gr.3 sport races. Give me a one make, tuned race that is DR enabled for a change, or select from a group of cars that you can tune up to a certain pp.. Give me some variety. I must start frequenting the user lobbies and was interested in leagues but the time never works out for those.

Reminds me of this last lap I had in the Manu Cup for the win except the cars were reversed

Edit: proud of my last corner switcheroo!!!

Wow, amazing hot overtake, he thought he would win, but he was wrong, xD. You know I haven't even entered a Manu cup yet, when I have some more spare time, maybe I should and back off the TT's for a while. I need something different to do.

I'm assuming it's to encourage people to practice?

Although the daily is the 24h layout and the manu is the enduro one not that it is massively different 🤔

Next weeks dalies (via GTSH-Rank)

Guesses

A: Kart?
B: Gr4
C: Gr3 with weather
Man, another beaut of a race B!!

Glen at the Glen 😁 I have to say I’m excited again for next week, gr3/4 I don’t mind.

My interest unfortunately in sardegna has faded as the week has gone by, I seem to have been lobbied up with all the guys who wants the see the world burn 🤨

Jeeez

But at least there is always next week 👌

Yep, Watkins is dedicated to Glen's name and favorite track, I hope it is for the Group 3 cup! What's wrong with Sardegna? Is it boring, it's a fine track to me. So are you going to do any Nurburgring races next week, the 24th layout is a lot longer to race on. It's not a walk in the park to do a perfect lap there.

Hello buddy, hope all well. Nah I won’t be doing the ring, it’s probably 5 laps 😝 sardegna just holds a special place with me since gt sport and racing gr4 Megane for a month toward the end of its life, this time around it’s very hard to race and no opportunity to overtake means ppl just forcing their way through - it’s abit of a disaster tbh 🤣

I'm the same! The same! And they even named the place after me 😝
You own that place! 🤣😂 I just need an end to sardegna, but I’m sticking with it this weekend just because I love to race it, just can’t stomach the opposition 🤮

Sorry if I don’t add this to a multi quote @Famine

But.

Just tried the vans and that is garbage. Stick to one lane! How are aliens hitting 1.51? Sure there’s some gear changes needed @newmedia_dev i used your tip and don’t brake but what is this all about 🤣

Ugh, well see I've done about 20 races there. The vans are slow-moving but I'd rather deal with Tokyo than the Spa 24 lap races. Wouldn't you? Well it's your decision what you choose to do. Next week will be pure fun at Watkins Glen. I'm sure @GrumpyOldMan will be thrilled too. Well idk, he has Covid-19 still I assume.

There are 2 tips keep dropping down to 4th and if you have the throttle control keep it in 4th by holding it just below the limiter.

I think it's "Back to the future" inspired because 88.5 (rounded up to 89 mph) is the sweet spot.

But aliens be aliens for reasons us that only live in 3 dimensions can imagine. They are 4d beings!

Edit: on the flip side the utter freaking morons that play this game.

What's the point of being B/S when the rest of the lobby is A/B and not even fast. I don't have a better match making system but my god how absolutely sweaty do you need to be A rated that you'd ruin your SR that bad for a few DR points.....the desperation is strong and this circuit doesn't help bad or good drivers either.

I've had some good races at Sardegna, mainly because I've been starting near the back of the grid, watching the carnage unfold in front of me, and threading my way past the wreckage!

It is one of my favourite tracks, but I'm very slow compared to others (including you and others on my friends list) - slow but steady seems to be working out in the races though 🙂

I've been starting my races near the middle of the pack, which is probably safe for me instead of being at the front. Being at the front takes a huge risk in faster people from behind you ramming you and causing you to run off-track in the sand. That is why I don't bother trying to get real low lap times because it will put me near the front depending on which lobbies I'm put in. Yeah, I'm a slow average driver too, you're not alone mate.

Bang on mate, I just stay away but I’m trying to give space (seems ridiculous I know) so ppl in front and behind don’t shunt me 🤬

And I went back to the Lamborghini because it’s stable for me, sorry @mellofello9 i just don’t get on ok with the Porsche even though I put my best time in on that

Those were some of the best lunch plans EVER, lol. P2/3 Start and P2/2 finish. Woo to the freakin' hoo.

First race was uneventful after lap 1, but was happy to make it through T1. Hit the brakes late and had to dive to avoid making contact. Opened the door and killed speed but was able to hang on 'round the outside:

Second run started with calamity...someone missed their brake marker. Made a mess of the joint but I somehow got through in P2. Was happy to stay there unchallenged the rest of the race. Lookin' like it might be a good weekend!👍

@brockie all good in the hood! The 911 just works for me and I've been finding more and more time in the thing. Was running laps between races and shaved three tenths off. Got three more to go, apparently:

Awesome video dude - Porsche was my absolute mr reliable for ages but since the update the Lambo (thug car🤣) just seeems the most drivable for me. I’ll give the Porsche some laps on Atlanta 👊

I'll be honest this week has broken my love for GT quite a bit.

A "van race" with no DR a B race which is both a DR and SR killer on a great track to race AI but humans suck and a C race I can't technically get done in even my lunch break.

The only and I mean only upside I am going to take from this week is that I know how to get off barriers better and a collateral benefit that for the manu races tomorrow my lobbies will be less points but more pleasant...I hope.

What an awful circuit Sard A is for actual racing. The choke points are to tight and the amount of us that just finish better through attrition is crazy.

This is a week I will gladly move on from.
