So that with the friends...... is not a problem at all!!!

You will find here... = https://www.gtplanet.net/forum/threads/lets-be-gt-friends.405393/ ..... more than enough!
And if that's not enough for you. I'm on the list there, too, and if you send me an inquiry, I'll put you in our "small" group. We're happy about every new addition.
I'll do that as soon as possible. Hoping for the weekend to get my head around that stuff.
Just like in real life... Squeaky tires are usually at or above their limit. Try to drive AND brake/steer in such a way that you hear as little or no squeaking from your tires as possible. It can help with braking, e.g. just NOT to give 100% pressure, but only 60 to 80%... watch the "brake indicator" on the screen... the white bar is your braking force (or what I suspect even more the force that the tires bring to the asphalt when decelerating), as soon as you see the red pulsing there, your ABS is working and when it works, you have less braking power AND therefore a longer braking distance.
Actually, my sound settings are good for that. Turning music off was the first thing I did, and I hear the tires well. I'm also aware of the indicators. But it's hard for me to look at them while I'm driving into a corner. If I do, I usually miss it.

Hey Mr.Kowalski I’d say you should go all in and activate Hardcore Mode aka. Using MT AND ANALOG INPUTS simultaneously.
Your old Brain should still be able to adapt pretty quickly and you’ll soon find yourself TrailBraking like a young God 😁
Honestly, it’s not that much of a hassle. Give it some time to get used to the new Motoric capabilities which will come automatically as soon as your ripe synapses get used to the newly learned habits.
It’s all about Practice and I guarantee you if you love playing Racing Games or whatever you do, if you do it with passion and patience you’ll improve naturally and most importantly you’ll have fun.
Much more than you most probably ever had. No Pain no gain
Well, I've already started practicing the trailbraking, with almost immediate surprisingly good results. But MT is on my bucket list, too.

Every change to the suspension/chassis geometry has and must have an impact on performance, as do changes to the transmission ratios or the locking effects of the differential. But it must not have such a big impact on the PP if I can compensate for the disadvantages with a significant increase in engine power. And that's exactly what's happening right now.. it needs to be worked on. Taking these values completely out of the PP rating is NOT the right way in my opinion.
The entire point of setup is to make your car as fast as possible. No real racing series penalizes you for having a good setup. The whole point of any racing is to get your car within the rules, and then set up it to be as fast as possible. Not to set it up as strangely as possible to fall within some bizarre simulated PP value.

Well you're most certainly welcome.... My opinion.. MT is the icing on the cake... it's the premier class.. and yes it makes you even faster IF you master it... I'm too dumb/old/ lazy/unable to really learn and master it... Still working on keeping and improving my lap times at a high level. Then I want to be even more consistent.. and then at some point when I'm even older and gray or bald.. (or have a better steering wheel) I'll practice MT.

But you are misinformed... You say "No racing series penalizes a team if their car is too fast". That's not true.... See 24h from the Nürburgring the Ferrari on pole and the BMW on P2 from the last race got a "penalty" after their placement for the race to bring them closer to the field. Both had to add weight (I think I even heard that the Ferrari had to reduce power, but I'm not 100% sure). So they were punished to have as balanced a field as possible.

I just see the one PP number as a big problem just creating a balanced field with it when there is no other 2 value or rules. In order to be able to wear pants that fit me I also need at least 2 numbers so that they at least roughly fit my body, but all cars on a circuit should be matched to the track with only 1 number... that can't work well.

Sleeper of a machine, no real weaknesses. Have only had a couple of cracks at B so far, in the Supra and Corvette, both were okay but a lot of fuel management needed. How's the Hyundai do on that?
Hyundai is great. Like you say doesn’t look like a quick machine but it goes!
Fuel was good. After the Kemmel Straight and all through sector 2 I was able to run mix 3 and keep up and then sector 1 & 3 for the straights I would switch to mix 2. I had enough fuel at the start of lap 5 to run at mix 1.

Yea this has been my favorite combo so far. I've had some absolutely amazing good clean races.

I say just enjoy it, you can't control what car other players are using. We're all competitive and most are going to use whatever they're the most comfortable in and gives them the best chance to do well. This is a cracking combination and produces some excellent racing.
Yeah, it's like rolling the dice, you never know what total you'll get. Well is the online mode easier in gt7. I played it a few times on my cousin's copy of gt7 and I feel that I was still struggling to get a good lap time.

I think my concern at the moment is...

Is the PP system too complex to fix in this way across all cars and tracks? I don't know. Let's face it, PD aren't showing themselves to be competent at the moment in these finer details. I hope they do fix it in the way you describe though. That is the optimum solution. Can't see it being easy though.

I won't bash Sport mode today though, since I've just been in and tried the new TT in the Escudo, which is awesome. They have added tiered rewards, which actually adds some incentive to do the event. That as well as the other new events and track make for a good content update.

No of top 5 finishes added to Sport mode stats on the website, I assume in game as well?

Yes. Added to the game as a banner in Sport mode. It's really prominent now and nice to see.

I said yesterday earlier in the thread that gaming the flawed PP system for wins was not rewarding as win stats weren't prominent. Oops!

I think it would be nice to have some kind of gold, silver, bronze for podium places in Sport races too.

Edit: Have they fixed the suspension PP exploit? I think maybe so.

Its true bro, i just started using MT almost 2 weeks ago and even though im not expert at it yet, its like second nature shifting, short shifting, downshifting, etc, and i cant go back to AT as believe this newbie, it makes a world of difference, but i still see Maxi & Pirovacboy as darn aliens on their times lol

The penalties are usually given in all the Daily A,B and C races depending on what you do. (Hit wall, run itno opponent, cheat by taking shortcuts/driving off track.)

Just keep plugging away! You’ll soon chip into there times and close that gap. I think I’ve gained about 6 seconds from when the game launched.

Are you talking the old school one or the X version? I assume the old one. I want to try it. Very underrated car in other races for sure.

I will say the Vette is amazing. You can leave it on FM#1 for the whole race and just shift at 6k-6.5k through the race and you're fine. Since it's a big ol' V8, it has the grunt so it doesn't matter too much. I would let it rev out coming out of T1, but other than that, just short shift and she's golden. Keep an eye on it, but I never had to change the FM which is great so I could keep my radar on.
I wish I was racing against the lower downs again. Those were the days.
Make a burner account. I wish I would've done it a while ago. It's basically the only thing keeping me interested in the game at the moment. It's very fun just to mess with other cars and not take Sport mode too seriously. But, that's the key, leave your 'try hard' mentality on the back burner or you'll rank up and be right back where you started. I did a few races on my main account yesterday and got a podium in B, but went to the burner and was trying some MR cars.

My advice is pick beta cars and start from the back.

That is cool! I like that.

I seem to have lost my pole positions, which is interesting.
That is not cool! I lost a bunch, too. I had a screenshot of my info from a couple weeks ago and it shows 45 pole positions; now it only says nine.

I wonder if they're only giving us credit for a maximum of one per race per week. Meaning, if you set a monster quali lap in Daily C and did 20 races all from pole, it would show 1 and not 20.

On a separate note, 99% sure I was in a race with @Devdude yesterday. It was Daily B in the evening-ish hours, I was in the Ferrari and think ended up P5 and I think Dev was in a rented Supra in P7 at the end. I didn't notice until the end finishing order, thought the name looked familiar. If correct, GR; if not, disregard.

What we should do is write our PSN usernames down and schedule races, time trial practice, free runs so we can help each other improve in certain areas.

Won my second race ever last night, Race B, thanks to a last-corner slip-up by the leading driver. Still firmly in the C lobbies, and apart from the expected driver mistakes I'm getting lots of good, clean racing.

Then I tried a CSL 3.0 in Race A, and in spite of being 444PP, it was like 10 seconds off the leader. I never even saw them, but I drove a clean race and had a fun back-and-forth with an Integra for 7th place. It would be nice if cars in the same PP range were a little more evenly matched, but it's still great to see a ridiculous race like that, with pickup trucks and old sports cars all trundling around the track on comfort tires. It actually felt a bit like a multiclass race, which is definitely something PD should consider for future races.
Red Integra by any chance? That may have been me.

39 races, 11 top 5s, 1 pole, 1 fastest lap.

Definition of midpack mediocrity - I’m basically 2022 Alonso, a mobile roadblock.
Meh, this is probably a little better rate than mine and considering I'm at 310 races, I couldn't care less, it's all about enjoyment.

Someone gotta run in the pack anyway, or it's just 4 fast guys racing on their own, and they'd complain about that

The wins feel far sweeter when they come as well.

I have 364 races and 176 top 5's lol. Not a bad 50% margin. But only 19 wins!

I wonder what % of those top 5's are podiums. I feel like I get 2nd an awful lot.

Would like some fed back on this…..
So this idiot just took me off track. I question them in chat and was told it was my fault as I was bashing him in the corners. This was the first time I was close to the driver.

@Mercia Hyundai at Spa is a beast. Just done another race now. Started P7 and won the race. You can run on mix 2 all race and then mix 1 for some of lap 5.

On the incident, no feedback needed, guy is an idiot. This is what can go wrong if you decide to take 'revenge' in race instead of watching the replay back after to fully understand the incident, or learn that you've attacked the wrong car after all.

Probably not the kind of person to do that though

100% his fault. Not even up for debate. Look at him forcing someone else off and trying to tap someone in the rear just before your incident. Just a raging idiot who can't take being passed.

From his perspective (without a proper view), you were forcing him wide on the corner, but he left an opening anyway and you were within your rights to go up the inside. It's not like you forced him off track.
