Thanks for the info. It disconnected when the final standings were on screen, right after the time ran out. I didn't know my exact stats by heart, so I'm not sure if it counted. The DR progress bar hasn't changed, though.
The DR progress bar may or may not change depending on who was in the race. I could be totally wrong, but given that Sport Mode is online, the server should have your info and it should have saved.

I often pull out of the slipstream of the car in front as we approach the braking zone to try and avoid running into the back of them. Sure it confuses some people as they end up running wide at the corner and I gain a place
I do this, too. Mainly to get in the head of the person in front of me, hoping they're watching their mirrors assuming I'll dive bomb and they make a mistake. It doesn't often work in teh A lobbies, but every once in a while.

Just did my first Race C using 2nd account and was happy to start in front. Pitted from softs onto mediums on lap 4 but... Got a 3 second penalty and I am sure I followed the yellow line from the start of the last corner!

Was 7 seconds in front and ended up getting stuck a bit in traffic after serving the penalty since some started on mediums and some went longer on softs. Still won by over 3 seconds but annoyed at losing my clean race bonus and also could have easily had race ruined by being hit!

How do you go in pits without getting a penalty please?

Edit: Figured it out, stick to the right on last corner to remain within limits 🤣

Thanks again. The whole race consisted of B/S players, without exception.

Deep Forrest reverse is better than standard
You can see it that way but I prefer standard. The Gold on super license Deep Forest with the Nismo gave me a very hard time at least I learned the track 🤓
My last reverse experience with this track was the Vision Suzi from one of last Coffee Shop Books .
I remember I was more off than on the street 😜

Trying to link my YT Watkins Glen qualy lap using a controller but the option is greyed out here. 🫤🤔

I'm at 1:42:8 and think I can squeeze a few more tenths and go down to a 42:6 but can't get closer to proper players with wheels. Still happy though, did 1 race, started 8 and finished 8. Would have come 7th but I picked up 2 pens for crappy track limits 😂

wow, even more impressive. you won top tier races after starting at back??

i'm assuming you're what people describe as an 'alien'... meant in positive way of course.

Haha, no not quite alien level, but I’m not terribly far behind some of those guys. I’ve always thought that maybe I could have been an alien if I had started when I was younger or if I just had more time to practice and race. The rare occasion when I do get proper practice time I can keep up with the bottom half of the field in top split GTWS/FIA races but the top half are too quick. When I was competing regularly in GT Sport I always finished FIA seasons in the top 20 or 30 in NA region, but if you translate that to Global rankings it’s not nearly as impressive. That’s also true for NA region in GT7 daily races now. The competition is quite varied depending on when you race. Most of the very fast NA drivers don’t do daily races at all and if they do, it’s only at peak times when I usually cannot race. I’m lucky to have 3-5 other A+ drivers in my races, but sometimes there are none. The races I’ve won from the back were definitely a mixed field of lower ranked drivers than myself. So in a way, my stats are padded, but it’s not something I’ve done intentionally.

And if they finally get it fixed... hopefully she'll do more than just those 3 races a week.. why not 6 different races.. I don't get it... sort of like 2 different A races, 2 different B Races and 2 different C races.. one fuel and one endurance race each.
We will be spread too thin then..

It's possible to be fast enough on controller to make it to the world tour. The biggest difference is that wheel users can be more precise and thus save tires better. But you can go as fast on controller.

Edit: not me. Or maybe I would be as slow on a wheel as on a controller

I feel that way sometimes on wheel i got few weeks ago,but i am getting better with it, learning limits to cars on wheel and things but sometimes i feel like i was lil faster on controller but then again it could just be in my head when i get frustrated on a track

Anyone else using the Corvette in race C? I'm way off the pace. Probably my driving but it feels more sluggish down the straights than in previous races, Suzuka particularly.

Qualified 11th, pitted early to get out of traffic and was P7 towards the end before I got rear-ended by a dive-bombing Italian prick in a Supra. He was so much quicker down the straights, would have easily cleared me down the next one if he'd just waited. Ended up 9th after people got penalised post-race. Love the track but may need to switch ride - Iron Man Vette not cutting it.

But you finished that race, correct? The record should be intact. The server would know that you won.

It would be strange if it didn't save that because of a disconnect.

As for this week's race C, do I need to pit and switch from medium to soft, as in, there is no choice?
Nope, if you get disconnected before results saved flashes, you get counted as last. It happened after I won a race last week, waiting for all those 1 minute penalty people to arrive and got disconnected. My internet was fine, I messaged 2nd to congratulate him on his now victory and he confirmed it showed me as DNF. My DR took a big hit, finished first counted as last.

You always have the choice to take the 1 minute penalty ;)

I'm officially a donkey. Start on pole using softs, fastest lap all race by over a second. Get in pits and sneeze as I go to choose medium tires. It clicks on softs again. Finish 1 car length behind leader on 6 lap old softs. Penalty sends me from 2 to 15th place. I suck 🤣😤🫣

The last turn is a bit irritating, Im getting blinded with 700 nits of sun and cant see a thing. Just guessing where the apex is .

That aside, the top split lobbies are absolutely stacked, more so than Ive ever seen it. Definitely a renewed enthusiasm about the game right now,

I'm about to use the corvette myself and see how I fair. So far my fastest is a 1:43.03. It does seem sluggish down the straightway

Bust out the sunnies.

Edit - I'm kind of serious. I once had to wear my Bollé tennis shades while watching a scifi movie late at night. The curse of OLED.

Just found out 4 minutes isn't enough to start the game and sign up for the race on ps4 pro... 2 minutes was plenty for GT Sport yet GT7 dicks around forever before the world map appears. Then you need to change the tires first before it actually lets you enter, GT Sport just changed them for you. Did the QoL department get renamed to QoD?

Oh well, more engines while I wait  Can't sign up until 15 minutes before the race starts, so no point in 'qualifying' yet as I'm bound to forget to sign up, such a great system! 15 minutes is plenty to learn the track :)

So I just got done with the race c at Watkins Glen and got a penalty for cutting across the pit line even though I didn't. The guy in front of me stayed below the yellow line just like me but yet the game wanna penalized me even though I literally follow the same line. Smh

I’m 1.5s faster in the DBR9 so maybe it is the Vette being a bit slow. Shame.
I was able to get a little bit more out of it. 1:42.70 but yea its not the best car. The pace on soft tires is good but when i switch to mediums the cars goes to crap. If you're driving a BMW m6 you're gonna drive away lol
