Can someone explain the BoP to me like the dummy I am :) I thought it basically means that you just pick a car and it is adjusted to match the performance with others. Does it mean that no tuning parts are needed or do I need to get some basic stuff anyway to stay competitive?
You dont have to do nothing, game does it for you

What I'm asking myself.... how can you make bop races better for everyone in the long term?

All cars in race B and C have a bop applied to them. I would imagine after 2-3 days the top split is full of car xyz, worst case a one-make-race.
Would it be possible to give those cars a penalty e.g. +10kg and or -5 bhp (-3kw) after let's say 2-3 days into these races and delete all times?

Cheers! This will put my mind at ease. So I guess the small differences i hear on the performance of cars is related inherently to a car in itself and not the tuning parts. So a fully kitted version of the same car would behave identically to the stock version. That will save me some of those precious credits :D

I would also accept making the daily races daily again and then there wouldn't be time to figure out a meta car.

Also sign with a manufacturer through the Manufacturer's Series and you get a free Gr. 3 and 4 car of that manufacturer.

That’s definitely fair, and a lot of bOp races ended up as one car grids. But hopefully they have tried to address that, or they at least should’ve done. From what I’ve seen the Subaru at least looks like it’s more competitive in a straight line. Definitely better than sport
Unless you tune the grip vs power balance for every car, for each track(which I am afraid will never happen), the only way to make the cars 100%, or very close to it, is to make them handle almost identical. Now wheres the fun in that? you just get a different bodywork and sound.

I have a theory that would at least help solve the issue, rewarding non-leaderboards with a better payout than the LB ones.
The lower the car first pops up in the leaderboards, the higher the payout.

I think GT7 can have/has the playerbase to just present more "daily" race options per week. Often times in GTS I would find myself not racing because I did not enjoy the races on offer. Daily A was 95% of the time not my thing, just too damn slow, Daily B was always too short for my liking and no fuel and tire use are "meehhh"to me. So I was very reliant to the Daily C races.

Although I would also not mind your suggestion. At least it would not make one have to wait for a week for something new. This would for me personally also help in regards to limited amount of training. If I had a busy week not racing and could only get into the game on thursday/friday, you already were running 3 days behind on practice and it absoutely makes a difference.

I like your idea. The Problem with that is, at least imo, that PD won't get enough data to balance the cars track by track for the world cup. Nobody can achieve "the ultimate" lap in 1-day and race the cars to the last tenth of a second.

I personally achieved my fastest Q-lap last thursday in the Huracan, just a tiny bit faster than my time set on monday with the RX Vision.

My personal wish: After one year having all cars within ~0,2 sec in Topsplit (aliens) in quali whilst also achieving parity within the race itself (not a single car can get away with fuel 1 and still achieving 7-8 laps)
With races lasting one week PD may be getting ~10k+ races or even more data and possibly ~100k+ of quali laps

Interlagos, nice! Guess I’ll have to grind credits for a few days to try a couple of cars for this so won’t be able to race. Not so nice.
Sign with the manufacturer you want to try. Obviously won’t work to try different cars but adding one more to the ones you already have is nice.

Not a huge fan of autopolis but I’ll mix it up with interlagos for sure.

It’s a day later and I wanted to update. I still suspect my issues yesterday were server side, but I ended up putting my PS4 on DMZ in my router and I had no issues today. I figured it was worth the 5 minutes to set it up.

How do you do that buddy? 'DMZ in router' ?
I've been reluctant to do daily races because it's destroying my DR and SR because of freezes/disconnects.

It's worth a try I guess.
(I'm on PS4 Pro too)

Race C was fun. 10 laps with no need to stop.
Great job PD this race is so boring I ended up just parking up in the pits, so little imagination right back to the same races a GT sport was running. I was hoping it would be a new track at the very least. Or some strategy but there you go. Oh well least its nice weather in the UK this week I guess I'll be doing some gardening.

Looking at those races I suspect most of my racing week will be spent in B at Interlagos. Might do the odd C for a change but Autopolis isn't a favourite track

Autopolis is so boring, at least the dynamic time weather makes it more fun! Or is it just on a sunny/dry track with pointless fuel settings and no pit stop requirement?

Man, I miss those rare occasions on GT Sport where they would allow you to join the race in any car that met the class requirement. I hope those become more common eventually - WITH the BOP ruling. Just let us have some stupid fun, PD. Preferably without charging us extra.

Credit for the pic goes to @Sven Jurgens.

You need to login to the UI for your router. Mine was under Advanced Settings. You’ll also need to know your IP address on the PS4. I looked that up under Settings in the PS4 menu. Then back in the router UI, I selected DMZ and it asked me for the IP address I wanted to assign. Click save, and I was done. There’s an article on this site that goes through setting yourself up for the best online connection, but I can’t find it now. Basically, use a wired connection, setup static IP on PS4/5, and assign it to the DMZ. In my case, I didn’t do static IP. It is reserved though, so it shouldn’t change.

I see no difference to "daily" racing 🤣🤣🤣
My bad, I totally forgot about the Trial Mountain event for some reason. However that one had tuning enabled and no BOP which is why I personally gave it a pass.

Done a couple of races this morning. Not really enjoyed them as folks are very aggressive with lots of pushing and shoving so not my sort of racing

Quite enjoyed the Beetle GR3 in race B and haven't settled on anything for race C. I feel like I am driving with the handbrake on at times even when going up against the same car everyone just seems to run faster than me even in a straight line without slip stream being a factor.

Might give it a day or so then jump back in and hope folks settle down a little bit

Buying tyres lol. What a farce. Sport mode, especially BoP should just give us the full roster of cars in the group to select from with all tyres. Be way more fun and you might see some variety. Tough to try different cars when it’ll involve grinding to do it.
After a few months people will no doubt have a good roster of Gr3 and Gr4 cars, plus a Gr2 and Gr1. We just have to get past the early stages of the game. Patience.
Poor lineup this week, with all the tuning now available, new tracks plus return of some classics, this is what we get
There's only 6 new tracks/ layouts compared with GTS. They've already had dailies on 4 of them. Of course you're going to get a cross over into the GTS tracks. It's no biggie.
Don’t know why they’re so averse to having “slow car” races anywhere but Suzuka East, Miyabi (both of which are awful tracks), the partial layouts of Maggiore and Tsukuba. Race A is usually my favourite but there’s a whole world of track choices they never explore.
Probably down to the timings of each race which means they need to have shorter tracks to get multiple laps in or they stick to a 1 lapper like they did with the Yaris at La Sarthe.
