After a few months people will no doubt have a good roster of Gr3 and Gr4 cars, plus a Gr2 and Gr1. We just have to get past the early stages of the game. Patience.

There's only 6 new tracks/ layouts compared with GTS. They've already had dailies on 4 of them. Of course you're going to get a cross over into the GTS tracks. It's no biggie.

Probably down to the timings of each race which means they need to have shorter tracks to get multiple laps in or they stick to a 1 lapper like they did with the Yaris at La Sarthe.
How are we getting a good roster of GR3, GR4, GR2 and GR1 though? Certainly not by doing dailies, about 20K per hour. Also not doing fun races, the 4h endurance race I did last night netted me 80K for 2nd place finish against pro AI. Also 20K per hour.

Including tires and transmission (Assuming you get one set of racing tires with the car)
One GR4 car is 500K 25 hours
One GR3 car is 600K 30 hours
One GR2 car is 950K 48 hours
One GR1 car starts at 1150K, but the Porsche 911 and Sauber C9 are already 3 million plus 150K to use. 58 hours and up.

But you can choose to grind Fisherman's ranch for 45K per 3.5 minutes. 770K per hour if CRB every time.
A 3 mil GR.1 car is 67 Fisherman's races...

And the first attempt at race B in GT7 today, an unexpected error has occured CE-210381 right at T1 :banghead:

Can the fully customizable transmission be used and adjusted in the BoP races? Because in the settings sheets I see the drop-down menu is not greyed out, but the option of customizable transmission is greyed out.

I guess not, you couldn't in GT Sport either. You need it for non BoP races though, but you can save some credits if only doing BoP races. Also no need for rain tires this week and just RH for race B.

Not racing online they won’t. Not even close. Tidgeney raced 22 race C’s back to back averaging 3rd place and getting clean bonus most the time and got 500k. You can’t even buy a gr3 car and one set of tyres for that. Now imagine how much work it would be to get 8 of each group car. If you want a roster of gr3 and gr4 cars you will have to grind credits in single player or pay money.

Thought of the day:

Single player mode is start at the back and barge your way to the front. Sport mode is try to start as high as possible then avoid getting barged from the rear.
The trick is to "barge" your way to the front without acting like a rude idiot. Anyone can make to 1st place in an offline race (most of the times) - the key is to do it like you would if you were online racing friends. Just my thought.

That is where adding the short variants of Nurburgring and Barcelona would be great.

Done a couple of races this morning. Not really enjoyed them as folks are very aggressive with lots of pushing and shoving so not my sort of racing

Quite enjoyed the Beetle GR3 in race B and haven't settled on anything for race C. I feel like I am driving with the handbrake on at times even when going up against the same car everyone just seems to run faster than me even in a straight line without slip stream being a factor.

Might give it a day or so then jump back in and hope folks settle down a little bit
Maybe your car needs an oil change? Saw someone mention that somewhere who had the same issue.

Good shout that was indeed the issue. Quite shocked at how much speed you lose even when it just ticks over to normal. Will keep an eye on that for future races.

Interlagos took some getting used compared to sport. A bit greasier and a whole lot bumpier! Had to turn my dd pro to auto set as it was shaking all over the place with my more detailed settings.

I’ve had four races so far. A couple in top split where I filled out the numbers and a couple in normal A rooms. Have to say that the racing this afternoon has been exceptionally clean. I’m very surprised and I hope the penalties are deterring people. It’s very easy to nudge someone from behind and get a two second, happened to me. The penalty zone has moved to the uphill after the last turn and it’s a killer so avoid at all costs.

RCZ and Mcclaren were the go to in the top split but in the A room there was a very wide selection.

Are people really saying that? Setups allow people to negate the downside of some cars on specific tracks making them more competitive and viable. If anything I was surprised that last week races we didn’t see a greater variety but that could have been because people didn’t have lots of cars to try.

I do like the comfort of picking a car and don’t have to worry on searching for a setup since I don’t have the time nor the knowledge to one myself.

No matter what level, preparation is a huge advantage in racing. And lack of preparation is a huge disadvantage. Luckily the longer you race the more effeicient you become in preparation.

"Friends" are super helpful. You can see what they drive on the ranking board on every track. From there you can just ask someone for a tune. It makes picking a car initial much easier.

If you're more of a YouTube guy, lap guides include all the basics you need. I often watch Mistah MCA or Tigney, even if I don't use the same car I can see what is usually the popular car of choice.

If you're not into DR/SR points and just want to race, keep your eyes open on the GTP Leagues & Online Racing section. Was the best racing in GT Sport and will probably be the same in GT7.

I hope they bring back tuning to at least one daily. With “C” this week being zero strategy, and Sport mode not really paying out credits to make a long race like that even worth it. It’s kind of a blah week for me.

Jumped into B for some A/S racing. Super clean. My Supra just doesn’t have it on top though. On another note, I really like the new physics and altered slip stream model for race cars in sport mode. Slip stream isn’t super overpowered now, so you really have to work to make up positions. Mistakes are more punishing too, so it just makes the whole experience all the more satisfying

Thanks for the suggestions. That’s basically what I do regarding setups. I just copy someone’s on YT like kie25. They don’t cover all cars though. I wanted to use the supra on daytona and I didn’t have a setup.

It’s extra work though. And I’m lazy lol

But I don’t mind the setups or even tuning if that’s make for more diversity of cars being viable.

Regarding leagues the problem is that the times I can play is very inconsistent so it’s hard to commit for a league. That’s why I love the sport mode so much. I can hop online and find a good race anytime.

Glad to be back with BOP races. But man, variety is not PD’s strong suit. Gr. 3 at Interlagos, we raced that a hundred times.

Race A is typical low powered cars on Tsukuba, props that we can use our own cars, I like to use my liveries and see my mileage increase. Race C doesn’t require any pit stop at a track I love Autopolis. Nice change from last week, I loathe Daytona Road and its bus stop.

Random weather and a risk of rain would be nice, putting strategy up in the mix.

I like B at interlagos. Nice respite from the high intensity of tyre and fuel management at Daytona last week. Managed to set a pretty good time which will hopefully see me through the week. I agree that Race C looks like a washout. Saw it streamed earlier and very dull. Lugging those GR4s around with no strategy whatsoever. Not sure what they were thinking there.

Done a few more race B this evening and it's still very much elbows out then kick em in the shins type of racing.

I lost my temper in a couple of races due to folks constantly hitting me at every opportunity with no attempt at a clean pass or even a trying to disguise their blatant punt and run racing. I quite surprised I managed to keep my SR S rating to be honest and certainly not my best moments.

Did get some good racing occasionally though and a few good bits of side by side racing from a couple of folks which was fun. Best finish I have had with the Beetle so far is a 6th which I was quite happy with.

This track can be a nightmare if you’re in with a bad crowd. Too many inviting push to pass corners. Seems a lot worse in the evenings. Maybe it’s more kids or something. It was a pleasure this afternoon with some real respect shown. I lost the leaders and was slowing up a couple of people behind me and they were very patient and didn’t barge through. Think I’ll do my racing earlier if I can.

You're still both thinking short term, I was talking long term. In a few months you'll have a few and maybe a lucky roulette win to help too. If the online payouts are poor then supplement them with offline ones.

Ok I miss tuning. I like setting up my gear ratios, stiffening or softening the suspension, and even the freaking ability to change BB. People saying that BoP would get rid of the "meta car" need to look at the Race C leaderboard.
BoP just eliminates one meta (finding the best setup tweaks) and replaces it with another (figuring out which of PD's setups is best).
