I can confirm I've put hundreds of miles on various cars that I own in Sport Mode, and haven't had to change oil for any of them. Not only that, but if I take a car that I've been using outside of Sport Mode that has "worn" oil, and race it in Sport Mode, it reconditions the oil to "new" again without having to change it.
Hmm, fair enough comment, it's not something I too bothered to test myself. I did note at the Monza Race A a couple of weeks back when it was the Chevy v Dodge basically, I don't use these cars outside of sport mode and the oil definitely went down to yellow. I remember it well as I was surprised as I'd heard what you've mentioned.

Possibly only affects cars classed as race cars, maybe.

Ages ago I definitely noticed a bump in speed at Bathurst when I changed oil on a racer but it might have been changed since then, that was my benchmark for understanding it but it was a long time ago.

Daily C next week 👎🏻 Just been doing some testing in a lobby and personally I don’t find it fun at all. Once again it’s a one class race with Porsche and also it’s all about getting hybrid off the final turn to help you up the hill. The dirty makes overtaking difficult too.
Seriously finding it difficult to like this game at the minute.

Holy cow, what a set of races!

Most notable to me is that Race B is going to be more than 7 minutes long for a change, that's something that is long overdue.
If you can run race b at Spa this week in 7 minutes your a god. lol. Seriously though I've seen only the fastest beat 10 minutes which I think is pretty much length target for race B if it's gonna run every 20 minutes. I've been in a lobby where connection issues caused the race to start 3-4 minutes late and between pre and post race waiting we had literally 1 minute 30 seconds after the race finished to get in the next lobby.

My favourite is having to wait a whole minute for last place to finish after everyone else and thinking "guess I'll only get one quali lap in then, thanks mate".

As for oil changes. I heard people saying it doesn’t matter so I stopped doing but then I heard some saying it’s still applicable so I actually don’t know if we do or don’t need to change oil. I still change oil on my cars just as a precaution, but I just wish they made it more easier to see when oil needs changing and to change the oil, like in the race lobbies.
They used to in previous games. They had the oil can icon on the HUD and it went red when you needed a change. Wouldn't be that hard to squeeze it in somewhere.

Stay at home in Blighty and take on the fabulous course in Kent.

I confess that if I get run off the road by a train of bad sports and I’m in last place because of their aggressiveness, I’ll sit at the finish line until there’s one second left just to make them wait for what they did to me! Fortunately that’s not very often.

Great variety of races :dopey:

My initial reaction when i seen these was **** yeah. Race A, that car is so hard to drive BUT with no DR/SR could be lots of fun trying to get used to it. Race B, Brands is always challenging and sadly might be a 911 one make but still looks like one i'd enjoy. Race C, on paper it looks amazing one of my fav tracks and i think it's been 4 years since we've had a GR1 race at Interlagos.

Regardless of your ability you should find one of these to your liking. No GTR or Alfa fests (even though i personally love GR4), each track is a real world track, one race has a car that's tough to drive, one has loads of downforce and mega fast......and one is at Brands in the most popular group.

I'll probably run lobbies practicing all 3 (but mainly C) on Saturday night so i'll let you know how i get on.

Little off topic but today is the first day I've checked notifications in Gt7 and there's nothing there. No likes on photos or liveries, no updates from other players achievements. It had been dropping down pretty drastically for a while, but today is the first to have 0.

Has me feeling a little sad, not for me at all, but as a sign of where the game is and the reduction in people playing and interacting with the it and others content.

Right up to GT7 release this was still a really busy area in GT Sport, talking 4 years after launch. We're barely 6 months through GT7 and it just is sad to see the interest die off so rapidly.

Brands is basically impossible to pass at. That's why I don't like it. If the driver in front of you drives even decently and puts 1% of effort into defending, you're not getting passed. That is why I don't like that track.

I am sick and tired of the broken penalty system and D/S ratings!

Someone tries to put me into the wall right before Eau Rouge (there's a kind of red box on the right side), I try to keep my car straight while he's pushing me from the left, he doesn't get a single penalty for it AND after the race MY SR goes down to A.

I hear you. I went from S to C in a matter of 3 races just defending myself from a string of vindictive idiots.

The game has gone stale for me.

Single player mode - not enough content. Completed nearly all the extra books. Missions need some new content, and driving license centre is like to see an overhaul on this and some more tests on there.

Daily races - the races just don’t interest me enough. Daytona was good a good race the other week but I didn’t race it much as the bad driving from previous weeks has just put me off racing. I actually did daily c today for the first time this week. I started P15 and made up 3 places before the faster drivers just decided it was better to punt me off and push to pass to get past me. They didn’t like the fact I was I able to defend fairly and cleanly that they had to resort to dirty moves.
Daily A was pretty fun actually. I think they need to more off these type races with semi race cars.

Scapes & Liveries - scapes I never really been into that side of the game, so doesn’t really interest me. Liveries I like to make them but I’m just out of ideas now, so that slowed down.

Online Lobbies & custom races - this were I’ve been playing most and having the most fun! Replicating daily races but putting weather and strategies in place has produced some really good, fun races! I just don’t understand why PD are reluctant to use these two features. Strategy does seem to make an appearance now but I wouldn’t say they are great strategies.

Back to daily races topic. Next week I’m going to try and get back into the swing of daily races. Daily A should be good I hope, and Daily B hopefully should be good but I fear the dirty drivers will be make this race horrible to run.

Think the whole community is suffering right now. Nothing is really being done to keep people playing, and you can certainly tell now. Sport lobbies are still low, and even with the lobby fixes I feel like there are less online than there used to be.

Septembers update seemed to be quite a blow to the game. The media team hyping it up for it to be probably the most lacklustre in months hit a lot of people the wrong way imo, the community reaction across the board was very (rightfully) sour and essentially any notable GT creator (except Steve) spoke out against it.

Game is just seeming stale for many. Updates are few and far between, the content is low and there is just not enough day to day variance in the game itself - by Wednesday or Thursday nothing is fresh anymore and you've another half a week until the dailies reset, and even then GTWS is gone for now so that's even less to do.

tldr: shuffle races when?

New here but been lurking for a while.

Was disconnected from Spa and Watkins Glen three times today. Keep getting that CE error message with some long number and an ‘unexpected error’ message.

Is anyone else getting this? I’m in the U.S. My internet is fine.

I've had it in the past, just before race starts?

I got two unexpected errors this week, once on the last lap when win was in the bag and the other during warmup. That was 2 out of about 20 daily races I did this week. I cleared temp network data and it didn’t happen again but might be coincidence. I don’t think either race counted… don’t think my race count incremented so I am assuming entire lobby blew up… but not 100% sure

It's tough to swallow how much the daily race experience has declined lately in different ways.

I had paused a week after barely getting back up to SR S last weekend, but today I finally tried to improve my SR a bit, to get into cleaner lobbies once again. Race B should have been a good opportunity to stay out of trouble, with its ridicolous gaps between the cars.

Didn't go that well...🤦‍♂️

First race, I start P4 with the Ferrari, cleanly around the hairpin, and I get a good run on P3 up camel straight. Great. But just as I'm alongside him: disconnect. Internet issue. And there goes my ratings...
Second try, I'm back down to SR A, qualified P5, and the game freezes right at the final screen before the start. I wait more than fifteen minutes, because sometimes the races start after several minutes, but no... So, this shouldn't count as a disconnect, right? Well, seems like it does nonetheless. And there goes my ratings...
Third try, obviously my SR is tanking, I'm now in a lobby consisting of half B/A and half B/B drivers. Starting from P6 (which means in first gear, heading towards the pit wall, by courtesy of the idiotic rolling start PD has implemented here), I manage to get cleanly through half of the first lap, just trying to stay out of trouble. But in the first Stavelot corner two cars have left the track, re-enter just in front of me, I slow down a bit to avoid hitting anybody and suddenly find myself in P5 within a pack of cars on the back straight and already know that this won't work out. I have to slightly lift again because P4 isn't yet up to speed again. The %#&!*@ in P6 doesn't. He hasn't slowed down at all, hits me from behind just before the braking zone for bus stop and pushes me off track. I manage to avoid spinning and get back on the tarmac, but now I don't have enough distance left to brake cleanly, and slide into P3 in the right hand turn. And I instantly know what is coming next: 4 sec. penalty for me. No penalty for anybody else. I quit. And there goes...

Sorry for the rant. How I had once achieved to climb the rankings up to A/S seems like a distant memory right now...☹️

Agree. We should watch something other than F1 once in a while!

I’m watching in the US on the Motor Trend app.

Did you clear the network data on your playstation or with your internet provider?

I appreciate their attempt at something different for next week's Race C but it's just going to be a 919 fest, no different than the races with all Gr.1 cars allowed.

I miss when the frequency they tried to adjust the BoP like in the GTS days. Now it seems they don't care nearly as much anymore. They added the Low-Mid-High speed BoP thing and called it a day.

You should pull over and let everyone pass and then run clean laps in last place. This is what I did a couple weeks ago on a long Race C and after two races I was back to SR S. It hurts your DR, but not very much.

If you want to laugh then, all the low/mid/high speed BoPs are identical anyway. They were different for a while but when they adjusted MR physics they all got put back to being the same.

That's only for Gr.3 too. Any other group was always identical.

I agree, I should have done that. My misconception was that the circumstances at Race B would provide enough space to avoid the trouble.

BTW also my DR has gone down quite significantly already. Seems to me that even the game freeze on PDs side counted as a disconnect against me and cost me some points, but I'm not sure about that. Can anybody confirm or rebut that?

Edit: Actually I'm now down to SR B. Which means three "unfinished" races - for different reasons - have sent me down from S to B. Which leads me to the assumption that the game freeze on PDs server side did indeed count ratings wise like a disconnect from my part. Not great.

In GT Sport, an unfinished race would deduct 5 SR points, and consider you to be the last place driver (DR deduction).
They are pretty secretive now about the points, but I am assuming it's the same.
