GET IN !!! .....Yes it was after midnight, yes my lobby had mainly DR B and below in it but FINALLY I won a Daily Race this week. I know Spanish drivers on GT have a bit of a bad rep, but they can be really savvy at times. A lap and a half to go and the driver in front of me gets a penalty, so i just tried to keep close, no intention of passing them.....but just as we exit the last bit of the twisty middle sector the penny drops with them and they slow up, obviously they were either trying give me damage/back me up into the chasing pack or punt me if i tried to pass but i held my nerve, stayed behind going up the hill and flew past them as they served their penalty.......Te veo luego Sergio.. That's me done for this week time for a siesta

I fell for that trick once in Yamagiwa. Fighting for a podium finish, the guy in front of me has a penalty to serve in the final lap, so I just stay close behind him, right?
Well, he hits the brakes for a moment after the chicane, I go past him, and then he comes from behind and punts me into the grass in the final corner. That gives him his position back and enough cushion to serve the penalty on the final straight without me being able to catch up.
It was a clever move. Of course I hated it 😆.

Ok, that's me done with my Brand's Hatch adventures for the week.

I decided early on I wouldn't be using the Porsche, so went for the Lancer Evo instead. Quali at 1.24.6xx for most of the week which had me in mid pack in late night lobbies and towards the back at peak times. I got pushed and shoved into DR B by Friday afternoon.

Come Saturday I'm determined to improve my quali, which I do to a 1.24.186 which puts me consistently into the Top 10 on the grid. After a few recent races, including a 2nd place and a fight from 9th to 4th I finally get my DR A back.

Great fun all round. I don't mind getting sent into the gravel sometimes when clean races are so satisfyin

Its nice to read that Im not the only one in whole world using Lancer Evo:D Car is great, I dont know why its so unpopular? Good handling, great brakes, looks fantastic... I used it in GTWS and Im using it every gr3 race, no matter what track it is:) Ive done more than 6000km for now...
BTW, whats your PSN? Id like to add you to compare times, because on my friends list Im the ONLY ONE using this great car... my PSN is same as nickname here

I tested it in Brands Hatch and was fairly quick with it, just found the gearing not great for me on that track. Had to shift gears at several points where I was too busy with brake/throttle and steering. It might just be me, being too bad...😬

A very early report from Race B at Bathurst: qualifying so far is dominated by the Atenza and the WRX. Not the GT-R.
In my first race though, it was mostly Alfas again... I expected to get punted by them a lot, but didn't happen.

Instead I got punted by a Spaniard in an Atenza. Starting P2 with my G70, I managed to closely follow P1 for the first lap. But P3 had a run on me in the slipstream on the downhill straight. I moved over so that he could have cleanly passed me before the left hander, but nope, he decided that it was better to get rid of me for good by rear-ending me onto the lawn (which might have been true, from his perspective). When I had finally recovered and got my tyres clean again, I had fallen back to P6. Now chasing the Alfas in front of me? No way. They were just too quick in the mountain sectors. Even when I got cleanly through there, I lost over a second every time.

Got gifted P5 in the final lap by passing a slow Alfa (obviously with heavy damage). And a clean race bonus, surprisingly, despite the aforementioned incident and having touched a wall with slight damage once.

Could have been worse. I mean: will be worse.😆

In german it's "PferdeStärken", which literally translates to "horsepower".
Euro version of horsepower. I think the Japanese use it too, which is why GT bases certain numbers off of PS instead of HP (for example, the power limit in Daily Race A, or the N-class system in GT Sport).
Thanks for the explanation. Not sure why people on here decided to use an abbreviation not in the game. Just say BHP/HP and be done with it.

It is in the game, as standard in European and Japanese versions. That's why it was used - the person who posts up the next Daily Races is French.

The UK gets hp ("BHP" is, incidentally, also a vector quantity; "hp" is the scalar, and BHP is measured in hp units), as does the USA. Not sure if Australia gets kW like it should, but it should. Because localisation.

You're not the only one. I think it's all of the above, at least for me. I've done maybe four-five Dailys this week... all Bs on the 2 account as Brands is one of my worst tracks. Only real reason I've logged in was to do the new TT challenge.

That being said, I did get a win yesterday (my only race). Started P3 (the top four times were within .025"). Luckily for me, the guy in P2 had an off so I went by him, shortly thereafter the guy in the lead binned it. So before lap two, I was in the lead. Also luckily for me, this track is very difficult to pass. The guy behind was a bit quicker but was very fair/clean and didn't do any crazy divebombs. We were also side-by-side at one point but he backed out before the turn as he was the one attacking. JBOX Mags I think was his name; if you're out there, cheers.

No one more surprised than me to get a W there, even on the 2 account.

Did a couple more today in the Corvette. That car handles that track so well. Very easy to drive and just does want I want. But, still about one second per lap slower than the Porsche. So, yea.

Yep, another WTF from PD. You can adjust controller sensitivity but not wheel. You need to rely on the wheel itself to adjust the sensitivity but, unfortunately, not something the G29 is capable of.
In my case, had the opposite experience last week.
Seemed to me that american A/A+ lobbies were cleaner than usual (at least didnt see the usual dirty regulars trolling the rest of the field).

I have even had a very grateful experience on druids hairpin going 3 wide with no contact at all.

Might skip this week’s Daily Race A again, but that’s OK. It’s just that I really prefer not to race at Tsukuba if the cars are over like, 200 HP. I just don’t think it’s a good idea. I think I’ll keep trying to break into gold range for the current online time trial instead.

If this was (almost) any other course, I would’ve loved to give it a swing. Or, alternatively, if the maximum power was much lower. Tsukuba seems best for say, a race between lightly-tuned Mazda Roadsters, kei cars, or perhaps the Sambabus. Or even karts.

I agree. Tsukuba isn't really good for anything other than kart racing or drifting.

I’m not so sure about that. I still think it’s good for racing, as long as the cars have about 200 HP or less. Like the aforementioned Mazda Roadster models.

Next week......can't see anything other than the GTR for Race B, the Alfa may be good in the mountain section but it will get annihilated on the straights. Race C surely must be a 911 one make. Oh and the RM only last about 6 laps.......

Never making any GR4 Daily Race predictions again. There is usually only 4 or 5 cars it can possibly be and not once have i ever managed to correctly predict which one it will be. Apologies to everyone at Mazda.

Your post reminded me of another situation, so just incase it ever happens to you......If the race is at Spa and your battling with someone going into the last lap DON'T pass them on home straight (or dive up this inside going into turn 1) wait and use slip stream and pass them up Eau Rogue/Kemmel Straight.

If there are things I've noticed about my own driving since I've started to take a more casual approach to the game is that it's become much more rewarding to me to have a clean race. To give a car time in front to recover from a small mistake, to give space going into the corner and give way if an overtake is too risky. To just look for a more enjoyable drive than being obsessed with gaining every position. Not that I was dirty at all before but I would definitely take chances, some stupid, some borderline with my gains vs. ruining some elses race, and the change has felt a lot more satisfying.

The acceptance that I'm probably not going beyond B at this point, and that that's okay has led to me searching more for a good, clean race than a higher position, and making sure as much as I can that the players around also get the same result. Whether they appreciate it or not

Definitely improved my mental health when competing online and not just in GT and in turn it helps me notice the other drivers around who are doing the same and prioritising fairness above results.

Exactly my experience.
Acts of uncommon kindness feel very rewarding.

Good call. I just joined the evo club 👍. Buying one of these after renting and finish 3rd on race c

Jumped into my alt account about 11:30 pm last night, which made it 6:30 am over in Europe.
The Lobby was an A+, 2 other A's, 4 or 5 B's ... the rest were C's except for me. I was E/A .
Race B and it was pretty fun, started 12th and finished 9th.

It was the most mixed race I've ever been in.

I'll be trying my skills at Mt. Panorama this week. I used the WRX for my first few practice laps as that car had decent representation on the leader boards and set a 2:15.4XX with some troubles as I never actually driven the WRX in GT7 yet. I then jumped into the Atenza as I saw that was also atop the leader boards. I was a full second behind my best time with it, and I can't seem to find the time with it. More practice would help, but I liked the WRX more in the end.

Some more practice got me to a 2:14.6XX with an optimum time of a 2:13.9XX. I can't string a complete lap together as I have a small bobble somewhere or I just touch a wall and that slows me down obviously. Also, the damage on the track is going to be brutal this week. Hopefully I can avoid the accidents that are sure to happen and keep myself from hitting walls for no reason.

First rage quit in GT7. Race B is awful, at least the 2x I tried. Had p1 and p2 and just got destroyed before the first lap. With the damage and penalty system in this state it's a ram fest and pinball party on the hill.

That’s the right attitude, though it’s hard to not get mad and take revenge when you get punted off.

Did you win in a B/S lobby at Laguna in the Mazda vision Gr.3 today (in the Americas)? If so, congrats.

I'm spending all my time at Bathurst this week. It's the track I fear the most, drive the worst, but feel the best when I get even one sector spot on.
I'm not very competitive at the circuit, my qualy time is a high 2:15 and people are setting low 2:13s in the same car. I'm driving the WRX. The Alfa is too twitchy for my liking across the top of the mountain and the WRX just fits me.

I'm seeing mostly WRX/Alfa in the lobbies, with a smattering of the Atenza and G70. Only seen two GT-Rs in 6 races and none of them were close to top times.

I know there's more speed in the car but I think I'm pretty much maxed out b/c I'm running chase cam and an automatic. I know if I learn manual on the gamepad and learn to drive using either cockpit or bumper cam I can go faster, hit the apexes tighter, etc, I just don't want to :D

Anyways yeah, I think the WRX can definitely hang with the Alfa across the top of the mountain and while the Alfa out accelerates the WRX the WRX is overall faster at the circuit.

GL and maybe I'll see you on the mountain!

ps: one thing I've noticed is that collision penalties here are brutal as hell. Like best case scenario you're slowish down Conrod and hopefully you don't bin it braking after The Chase. Worst case you've got to traverse the top with damage and that first set of corners after Skyline is just mental

Wasn't me mate, I'm a bit off pace at Laguna considering I have won there before but the couple of races I had were solid enough. IF I can limit my time in the sand I should pick up speed, said everyone

Here's my best lap and tune so far for the GTR NISMO in race A.

It handles and brakes better than the Aventador which makes up for slightly less top speed. I'm about a quarter second faster in the GTR than the Aventador plus the top time uses it too.

Edit: Don't try a last to first challenge with this tune, it is WAY too loose to drive in traffic and or draft. Lower rear ride height to make it more stable.

Having such a blast on the dailies at the moment, fantastic week last week at brands and now mount panorama again, literally amazing racing going on, clean too!

3 or 4 cars always crash out at Bathurst. First try not to be one of them.

I enjoy tuning races but hate Tsukuba, but I’m actually enjoying this week fiddling with non-meta cars. If you start far enough in front you can actually have a decent race, as long as you don’t get bowled over on T1, which is what happened on my first race.
Any good stock cars for A?
The Jaguar VGT only needs the power restrict or to cut the HP down. If you bump both sliders to 70 it comes out to 492 HP. Add some ballast and you’re good to go. I know, it’s a VGT, but since these aren’t very realistic tunes anyway I have fun with it. Plus I don’t have to shift so I can fly out of the turns.

I also had fun with the Cayman Turbo, but it needs much more fiddling to get it to behave.
