Except for me, who went from 8th to 1st on lap one, and led the first 3 laps the 787B, only to end up finishing 25 seconds behind the winner, after stopping for gas.

I migrated to race B, where I had some success, until I met up with @deviln3, who whipped me good.

I always found the 787b to be good on fuel mileage if you don't wind it out too much, the rotary helps with the torque, in other words even short shifting it doesn't really bog down like other cars, at least in my past experiences with fuel saving

I'm friends with all 3 of your accounts, friends with Rpm since gt sport. I had no idea that was you.

Maybe I'll try it with manual transmission. 👍

I'm just shifting 1st thru 6th all the way left, like as soon as I see red on the bar. 6th to 7th I shift halfway. Barely making it. I hate messing with maps.
Oh, that would explain my massive fuel usage then. I was holding in 6th gear as long as possible like I did when I was practicing. I'll do that tomorrow and hopefully do enough fuel saving.

I said sharing not generating. The taking of the shot is a piece of cake but why can it not be shared to the gt7 web site or the playstation web site? Only saves to the app which is a pain if I am on this forum on my pc.
I keep a twitter account just for PS screenshots, as soon as you've taken them you can upload them with a couple of button presses to twitter and just pull it up on my laptop and it's ready to go. As your twitter account can be linked to your PS in the PS menu, it's very handy.. probably more so for PC users than on phone as the playstation app will serve the same function.

But worth looking at if it'll make your life easier than shifting usb drives around and things.

Just leave the account on private and it's not like you need to get involved in the twitter nonsense to use it + they upload in full resolution.

Well, I wanted to race in the big boy cars and I got put into a big boy field with Mainly A+/A drivers with one @sturk0167 in the room. My qualifying time didn't improve so P12 for me. I had a terrible start and I completely botched the entry to the Tertre Rouge section and hit the wall. Car damage of course but no wall penalty so that was nice I guess. Anyway, I'm by myself in the back as I let the few drivers behind me get by. I also have no idea how to fuel save and I had to pit for a fill up to get to the end. No entry penalty for the pit stop so I'm counting that as a win. The only reason I finish P12 was due to a few drivers quitting. My performance wasn't the best, but still fun to drive a high powered car around Le Mans.

So, how the heck do I save fuel in this race? What fuel map do I run and how short does my shifting need to be? I was shifting at half way on the display right where the gear indicator is. Everyone else seemed to have no problem with it.

Best Wishes Good Luck GIF
In the 919 shifting at just before halfway will get you through the race. No mapping required.

That's okay we pass you back as if you had stopped on the straights
I know, that Nissan had started the lap 6 seconds behind me 🙈. I can't match the pace this week, in the 919 I can't manage the hybrid enough to be quick and in a GrC I wouldn't be able to keep a good pace and manage the fuel.

Unlucky, in DR C there's not much fuel saving going on, pretty much everyone pits and if someone is trying it, they likely don't have the speed of consistency to get out ahead, while avoiding some of the dirty driving as well. Makes it a lot more enjoyable for me.

I met a Group C car in the Porsche Curves the other night, looked like their car wasn't the best through there...

reminds me of a Spa classic

I bet you get a much better variety of cars there too, I'm jealous of anywhere that the Peugeot 908 and TS050 are options.

I think I just realised why the racing is so bad in race a, I mean I am top two everytime and rarely get within seconds of another car. Last week I just slipped into SRA so I am not being paired with any srs drivers. Annoying.

The distance on the rolling start is weird, too. I did only one race, started from pole, and looking back, P2 was so far behind me as if somebody was missing between us. I was 1.5 seconds ahead immediately. Don't know if that's the usual grid distance or if it was a glitch.

So daily race B. Do penalties even exist for this race? It feels so much worse than any other track I’ve done for penalties not being given. People are quite literally pushing people off the track and there just aren’t any penalties at all.

It’s not a perfect system but normally I feel it’s pretty good and a lot better than nothing. However, at Kyoto it seems to be about as good as having nothing because it’s not doing anything.

Also seem to be getting matched with a lot of C and B safety rating even though I’m S. So that’s about par for the course as it seems like ten people race online lol. I’m about to move up to B so at least I won’t see C anymore but that doesn’t matter if players know they can push you off with no penalty.

Hey, I got my first victory ever though. Exciting! Slowly but surely getting better.

I think the pairing is all wonky because so few people are racing. And why would they? This forum is full of people who are diligent about clean racing and are getting hammered by bad drivers in these horrible races. It’s like the dailies are in a death spiral right now.

YES! I started P2 twice last night and both times I was damn near 2 seconds behind by lap 1 despite being very close on top speed to the P1 driver.

Noticed the same thing last night about the penalties. There's not even a penalty zone to serve penalties.

It’s just before start/finish line.

The only penalties I’ve seen in Race B have been from cutting the last corner in the esses, so track limits come into play.
I feel like I got a 1 second penalty when someone hit the side of my car in a turn. Or it could have been a track limits penalty.
@CMB350 spotted you in a few races last night, couldn't pass you though

Last nights races were fun. Did 5 B races. All B/S lobbies. Only got wrecked out in 1 race. Was probably slightly my fault, but avoidable from the other player. Nevertheless, last night was exactly what keeps me coming back to Sport mode - fun, relatively clean racing.

Won Race B from Pole last night. Strong start, dodged some chaos behind me, but then drove like a complete moron in sector 3 which allowed P2 to close up. Then drove like a moron in sector 2 of lap 2, which allowed P2 to pass me. Followed him closely through lap 3 and when he made a mistake into the downhill hairpin to leave the first circuit for the second and ran super wide I was able to take the lead back and actually be clean the rest of the lap for the win.

This is more my point, there doesn't seem to be any contact penalties in this race. It makes it very frustrating because this track happens to be a track where going two wide on the vast majority of corners is a seriously bad idea. It also rewards lunging up the inside of someone because, again, there is no penalty for doing that apparently. There are three tight near 180 degree turns in this race. The optimal strategy if your only goal is to win, is to lunge if someone is in front and use the side of their car to make your turn. There is ZERO penalty for this. I know I've seen penalties given out for this on other tracks so the ability to detect and dole out penalties has to exist.

Another really bad place is the esses, and the straights, you can straight up just push someone into the grass if you're side by side. No penalty, nothing. So the optimal strat is to do that, if your only goal is to win.

I think what I'm saying is that the penalties for this specific track are pretty much garbage for whatever reason. I'm open to admitting it's perception, but it's is so much worse than every other daily race I've done I have a hard time believing it.

Ya, that's what i was doing, but then i ran out late on the last lap a couple times. I like to be able to "over rev" for passing, and i think the halfway shifting wasn't leaving me enough margin for that.

but then drove like a complete moron
I hate when that happens! I just did that in my last race, although I was second, not first. Plenty of time between me and P3, and then I lose concentration for a brief second and I end up third. Gah!!

I have seen contact penalties (I'm pretty sure), but I think you have to be pretty egregious to get one. Last night I pushed someone off the track and into the wall, and not only didn't I get a penalty, I got a CRB!

DR C was fun when I first started playing GT7. The verity of car on the grid was great. You get a little bit of verity in DR B, but I’m getting closer to DR A again and the races start been one class races again.

This is my method to fuel saving in the 919

Shift on 50% of the revs.
4th gear exit on the corners
Mix 3 (or 4 depending on gap to car around you) through the Porsche Curves and then drop back to Mix 1 at the pit entrance.
With this method Im able to save a bit more fuel to allow me to push a little harder on the final lap. Managed to make a few position up due to other doing heavier fuel saving.
