What's my responsibility here? Someone passed me (legitimately) and swung in front of me right before a hard turn. I thought I had slowed early enough to not hit him, but obviously I was wrong. It was only a tap, but it was at the exact wrong time for him, so I ended up killing him.
As I said, I did try to brake early enough (even though I failed). But it seems to me that if you pass someone that close to a hard turn, it's not a great idea to pull in front of him, because this sort of thing could definitely happen. And if I were the guy who passed, I wouldn't have done it.
Here's a 23 second video showing the incident:
FYI, afterwords I would have pulled over and waited for him, but he didn't recover and exited the game.
I felt bad I hit him, of course. But I'd like to hear your thoughts on the subject.
Awesome! It can be a lot of fun, but also frustrating at times. Still, with the right attitude, it's totally worth it. Of course, maintaining a good attitude is sometimes harder than completing "The Human Comedy"...
I'm not one of those guys who tells everyone to do extensive searches before asking questions (in fact, I haven't really seen that attitude on this forum at all). But it wouldn't hurt to skim through some of the past posts in this thread, because I know I've learned an absolute ton from the people here. But whether you do or don't, let us know how things are going! Hope to see you on the track sometime.
