I just did another daily race B. What am I, a masochist?

This race I qualified in P12 and had worked my way up to P10 on lap two when I get punted in the rear on the left hander after the back straight. Back down to P12 and that’s where I finish.

Meanwhile the person who punted me went on to P8 so that’s probably where I could have finished. Of course for all I know he punted more people off to get to that position.

I guess I am now officially done with the Race B.

Odd post but I'd like some clarification about the BoP.

One of the changes the 1.29 patch offered was the nerf/boost of some cars in the Gr.3 and Gr.4 classes. Nissan, Subaru and Alfa Romeo were mostly affected (for obvious reasons) and there were also some other minor HP tweaks mostly in MR/4WD cars as suggested below:

The nerf of the GT-Rs in both classes and the 155/WRX in Gr.4 definitely applies as noticed in the recent daily race leaderboards, but some cars don't seem affected as suggested.

E.g. I'm a dedicated McLaren guy and I haven't noticed the HP boost in the BoP check for the 650S. I'm at 542 HP instead of 550 as seen in the picture above.

Have I misunderstood something about the unit differences?
542 is lower than the last update (which was 544), which leads me to believe that maybe you’ve got enough miles on your McLaren that you need to change oil or do an engine overhaul. Just a guess. I’ve been happily using my 911 at GV and set my best time in it, only to discover that the oil was bad and the engine and body were worn!

Sorry if that’s too obvious . . .

Those values are PS, not HP. 542BHP is the same as 550PS which is 404kW.

1HP = 1.014PS = 0.7457kW

Race B and my lack of QT made me feel totally inadequate this week.

Ironically, I’m low on credits so I thought I would give Trial Mountain a go on Circuit Experience as I’d not got to that one yet.

Turns out it was one of the easiest yet to gold! Go figure. Also when I look at my times I’m pretty happy with the results.

Now I realize that once you get a gold, no one goes back to try to improve, but I’ll take my little bit of an ego boost that being quicker than a lot of you gives me. I need right now. :D

Perhaps I should have done this at the beginning of the week? 🤦‍♂️

Now to Daily Race A for next week. Anyone practicing this yet? I set up a room to simulate the race and with High Speed BOP I’m currently at a 1.59.1x for the course using cockpit view. Wondering how that stacks up?

Btw room is live now for a bit; search for DRA practice - RA272 only.
That's funny, the 49.4 I set there I probably did about 2 or 3 hours before you posted this. Fun little coincidence to both revisit it on the same day.

I have been playing gt7 for 2 months - still new. I really really enjoy it. The one thing I've learned from my races and from the fast people (A or higher) on this forum is that your qualifying time is worth its weight in gold. Being up front is paramount.

3 tips:

1) practice next week's races over the weekend to get a head start on Monday/ Tuesday
2) work on your QT during intermission between races all week long
3) watch and learn what the fast people in this forum (and youtube) are doing

A bonus tip) try not to get affected by getting bumped/ punted.... and don't worry about your DR

my two pennies...

Well couldn't help myself. Saved under keywords "cmdr" "trial mountain" and "circuit experience" for ghost. View attachment 1236902

Happy you're back!

Btw since there has been a lot of discssion lately about racing against sub-optimum drivers, would anyone like me to set up a lobby next Sunday for us forum-folk? We could do practice runs for the following week dailies as well as experimental testing alternative cars for the other dailies
I caught your sickness. Lol I couldn’t resist giving it a go after I saw this post. My previous best was 1:56.xxx😬 Thanks for the motivation to play the game outside of the daily races 🍻

What did I start? We’re all going to be trying to best everyone else’s time in the Circuit Experience now.

Well the obvious answer is to bend your back.

(Not everyone will get this, and those who do may wish they hadn't...)
I don’t know what that means but it sounds kind of kinky.

Lol I'm so far down the rankings I'm not even listed there on your friends list. Challenge accepted (but it might be a few days cuz new races start tomorrow!)!

I would be interested in a daily race practice lobby.

Yeah I'd be up for that! I set one up for the new Daily C earlier today. I really didn't want to use the Audi, but damn it was good. I ran practice laps in the F-type, the Aston Martin, Atenza, and the Audi.... with zero effort, my laptime was over a second faster in the Audi....and it seems to be pretty good on fuel. Judging by my usage over the practice laps, a no stopper on hards could be possible

Oh yeah, i'm down! Too bad for me that most people around this lobby are living in way different timezones... But once a lobby is open and i'm available, i will definitely join.

Ill try it again this week. However, if i get puncted i dont know if i can keep racing or do multiple daily races. I mean, i can even be last but all i want is a good clean race. I thought B drivers were all clean, but im wrong

Oh absolutely not. My experience - C or below, drivers aren't dirty so much as lacking control. B or above, they know exactly what they're doing.

Exactly, spot on. They dont make mistakes, Im on B and i know if I get a slow qualifying im within 13-16 in the grid. It all depends of the track. I remember when it was Catalunya no chicane I had a top 6-7 in the grid. But there was always one dirty soul and it was fustrating. All i need is to practice
EDIT: Can i send you a friend request? I dont have much friends who play GT7

Well, after trying a bunch of cars, it looks like the Audi will be the meta again this week for Race C, at least for time trials.

I used to hate (and I mean HATE) Maggiore after that Human Comedy mission, mostly because I was still learning the game. Now I realize I actually LOVE the full track, mostly because of the HC mission! I wish they’d make dailies like that one ALL the time!

Anyway, I don’t know how the Audi does on fuel, so on a one stop strategy it will dominate. I wonder if something else like the Megane or Swift will dominate on a no stopper? Anyone try yet?

The Audi ain’t the meta for the race.

And it ain’t the 2 you mentioned either. The 86 is an absolute beast and you can no stop it fairly comfortably.

2 races for 2 wins so far. The TTs have no answer because they can’t be fast and no stop at the same time.

The RA272 is so much fun to drive. I’ve only driven about 3 FP laps so far, but wow! What a brilliant machine. The only trouble is you get distracted by all the mechanical equipment on show. Those universal joints on the back of your ghost are hypnotic.

I might have a new favourite car!
So tell me.. do they rotate the right or the wrong way??
