Race A, pure skill to drive it, quite hard for me, just sometimes hit by other player system are not penalty them.

Race B is dominated by "FORMULA ATENZA", I was having fun driving Renault Sport Mégane Gr.4, It's tricky when in the tunnel, full throttle will easily to hit the barrier, when I check on other's ATENZA, full throttle to pass... well well...

Well done on the win. Doesn’t matter who you’re up against; you’ve still got to bring it home and the pressure of online is a different world to racing the AI. It gets very addictive! Hope to see you on track soon. Is your psn same as here?
Yea, thanks. There definitely is a different type of pressure! But fun none-the-less.

Unfortunately, I don't think I'd be pitted up against any Eurpoeans since I am in the States. Everyone I was racing against was either US, Canada, or Brazil.

Trying the GTR in Spain and ended up having to pit for fuel on lap 9, didn't manage that right at all. Hilariously a guy who could not help but get penalty after penalty for contact all race was right in front of me coming to the line and for some stupid reason decided to brake check me, got HIMSELF a penalty and finished last instead

Have I mentioned yet how much I love that penalties are back.

Shift just after the gear indicator. It will get you to the end with a little left over.

Did one Race C. I don’t own the Atenza so qualified and raced in the GTR. Started on pole, won the race. The Atenza isn’t all that.
Did the same in Race B.

In GT7 land I’m only a B class driver, I don’t doubt that for the A+ guys the BoP makes a difference but for the majority of us I think the idea of picking and sticking to a car you like is a far better call.

For me that’s the GT-R in both Gr3 and Gr4.

I have tried other cars and the raw pace difference just isn’t enough at this level for me to find it a convincing argument to switch.

As a case in point, I won 4 of the 5 race B’s I did last week, the only one I lost was when I switched cars to give the NSX a go.

Again, I’m not saying the BoP is irrelevant but I think for most drivers it’s not as big an issue as people make it out to be.

3 races at Catalunya in the GTR, 3 wins. Get out of the Atenza people, it’s not working for you.
I mean, it works just fine, it's just that the GTR is also very good. At DT Gardens a few weeks ago there were 2 or 3 GTR's on the Top 10 leaderboard so it's comparable to the Atenza on pace. I think the Atenza is still a little faster in a straight line but you can brake later in the GTR and I think it's better through the really slow corners in the lower gears. It could also be that you were the fastest person in those races and it wouldn't matter what you chose.

What's with the exploit on Race A? You can just overshoot the hairpin after the fast section then cut through the barriers. Just had someone using this in a race and managed to beat him, but only by "cheating" and following his shortcut for one lap to pull him back.

Just out of curiosity, will the Gr4 do Race C without stopping or is there some fuel saving still required?

I actually don't know as I've not attempted a Race C yet. Will probably do so tonight and get back to you. Or hopefully someone else can chime in with an answer before then

Do you drop down massively your safety rating, if you get disqualified (rage quit by putting the game to pause and did nothing, Mustang was horrible at Fuji).

Never doing any manufacturers cup race ever again, unless I practice more for them. There is no point, all you will do is drop your driver rating, unless you can drive GT cars. Which atm is not me. At least not regarding gr4 cars.

Did a race C today. It’s quite a dull procession tbh. I think people are very weary of exceeding track limits and it’s hard to make inroads with the gr4 cars so it’s a bit uneventful.

You’ll soon be up to DR A and the BOP disparities become very apparent when you get there. Especially as higher ranked drivers seem thin on the ground so you’ll be up against A+ and need all the help you can get.

4.000s penalty for that, and the subsequent 2.000s for the next "advantage"

Don't worry about it.
Use 2nd gear
Pretend the last sector is a ski-slalom...
only uphill
Nudge the pylons

I’m usually ranked 3rd or 4th in the lobby. The Atenza seems to need more aggressive fuel saving so I always have at least one lap where the door gets opened.

I've been dabbling with Daily Race C this week. The matchmaking appears to be much better in the evening (ps5).

I've been like the rest of the sheep and have been using the Atenza. I haven't set a qualy time, but my race pace is in the 55's or 56's (in my tiny brain it's in the 54's). Anyways, a guy right behind me for about 5 laps was driving the Suzuki Swift and on that same pace. Watched the replay and he was able to conserve more fuel that most of the field (nobody stopped). Obviously I can't see what he was doing regarding his fuel map, but just wanted to throw this out there for the people trying to avoid the meta car. I actually bought the Swift after racing/before logging off, however I couldn't be bothered to test it tonight. I'll give it a whirl tomorrow.

Can make it with no pitstop..have to keep juggling the power curve throughout the race. Lost 2nd position on last lap fuel to having to go full lean though, and an Atenza went past like it was a Gr 2! ( was using the Renault Magane)

I attempted Race C twice last night, and both times I had someone aggressively blocking and punting into me, ending up just quitting after one spun me out. Should have just went to bed, but no, I had to try Race B. i really should have gone to bed cuz I raged quitted after realizing that its a 1.5 penalty for touching anything. Went from a DR A to C…

Today returned back to Race B and decided to put in work. Used the M4 and put down a 1:20 in Qualifying good for Pole if not nore further back than 3rd. Race starts, Nothing but Atenza’s far as the eye can see. Finally find my proper lines and I leave them behind, managed to get 3 wins, felt good beating those Mazda’s. Managed to get back into the B’s and scored 1 more win and 3 podiums. Not too bad.

There is no penalty awarded. I tried it. I watched another racer do it every lap without penalty.

Bug?

Race C for me today. I ran it twice, and was surprised to see a few people pitting. This was my saving grace in the first race, as I messed up into turn 10 on the first lap, and had to struggle my way back up the order. The second race went better, qualifying 5th and finding myself running in a gap that allowed me to save a bit of fuel. I eventually finished 4th.

I'm not going to even try race B. That's way too much crazy for me. But I did do a few qualifying laps in a couple of cars. I'm enjoying the McLaren around there.

I was in P1 twice, but everytime I was forced to pit and lost the race. I’m driving an Atenza, and I wonder how to save fuel. Am I obliged to go slower?!

You need to change your fuel map, using the MFD - Directional buttons if you're using controller.

Faster people can give better tips but for the Atenza for me I run full (fuel map 1) for 5 laps. Drop it to 2 on lap 6, 3 on lap 7 and 8 as well as catching slipstreams when possible, this gives me enough left to run 1 again on the final two laps.

I'm still playing with it though I'm typically mid-pack runner here anyway.
