Imposter alert
(But I made it stick)

My first 4 races at Atlanta aren't promising, although most of it (but not all of it) was my fault.

Details on how this information was obtained can be found here, but it's boring.

1)Track limit penalty for avoiding being obliterated by an uncontrollable re-entry from a speeding lawnmower.
Well, I had one this morning where I didn't see him coming back on the track - and he was at a 60 degree angle - and the right side of my car hit his front left fender, and I got a big penalty (3 or 4 seconds, can't remember which). So I guess your track penalty is better than what I got.
Well apparently I'm a dirty driver - I'm in the NSX, got a bit out of control at the start of lap 2, then had a car on the inside and T1 and another chap bounce off me on the outside. An unfortunate racing incident in my view, but what do you guys think? He was calling it dirty in the chat - first I've ever been called that in 4 years!

I stopped on the last lap and let him by as well.

Nah, like the others said, you weren't being dirty. And I thought you made a great save before the incident, too. I would have been spinning 'right 'round, like a record player...

Its going to be rough week for DR I think. I avoided last weeks race B because I am a liability around nurburgers gp and it would have been futile.

I love Road Atlanta normally but to have any success over 5 laps its either luck to avoid chaos or be a professional asshat and get away with it.

Did a few laps of RBR in the 18 GTR, 1:28.1 which I am not particularly happy with. I hate how T1 is so bumpy; it's the most important turn on the track and it seems so random on whether or not the car is going to go or bounce and spin.

So I jumped on the 2nd account and did a few laps in the....... Lambo. Did a 1:28.9 and ran a race. The GTR car do 3/10 so I figured I'd be a little safer with the Lambo and do 4/9 (accidentally started on the RMs). It wasn't enough. Decided to pit again on lap 11 for fresh RS. That didn't exactly go to plan.

Qualifying at RBR is frustrating as hell, your whole lap is wasted and turns into a rehersal lap if you don't turn in at the exact right millisecond for T1. :dunce:
which is why the last time this combo happened I didn't bother setting a QT.

I have some work to do this week. Still experimenting with different cars for race B. I haven't found the one that clicks yet. I can stay consistent but I'm running in the bottom 10 with a big gap to the front.

On a side note has anyone had issues with their DD pro lately? Mine locked the steering to the right and then disconnected twice tonight. Never happened before. I'll check to make sure the drivers are up to date tomorrow.

I'm so trash at RBR. Just in general these sweepy tracks like RBR/WG/Spa are the bane of my existence. Have liked the Mustang so far...I think I can get a 1:28xxx out of it but not confident at all in my abilities here. Much happier at GV/Deep Forest/Panorama.

Quick run on race B this evening. Qualified 3rd and then at the end of lap 1 I ran deep into the chicane and had a bad run out. I’ve been in a couple of races with the guy behind me, and typically the races are always “exciting” - saw him coming on the inside of turn 1 at the start of the next lap, left him room, but at some point I need to go around the corner as well. Without him there, I’d have got around just fine… without me there, I’m not sure he’d have been as lucky. Fortunately, his live stream has preserved the evidence for me 😂!

Did my first race B. No idea what my QT would yield but it was 14th on the grid. I need a faster car than the Lancer.. In the end not too bad considering my car was slow. It handled well, managed to survive some scuffles in front of me and came in 10th with a CRB. Who say you can't get a CRB in race B!

The top cars in my race were the F-type and the Vantage. I think I'll try British next...

Only one thing can get me away from the new Zelda game and that is the Red Bull Ring. I'm in the META GT-R and have currently have a time of 1:28.9XX which I think I can get lower. It should have me in the upper half of the grid I hope. I don't need much practice at this track so I'll jump into a few races tomorrow. What's the pit strategy for the race? Also, yay for pit strategy! Looking forward to racing at one of my favorite tracks.

Got up to DR C today on race B, enjoying sport mode a lot the past few days after playing primarily single player and 1v1 netplay with a friend since launch. It's really nice how noticeably better races are the more I play as the matching system adjusts.

I really like the 86, it's probably not the best Gr4 car but I find it a lot of fun especially at a course like Road Atlanta. Got a couple of 3rd place finishes tonight, looking forward to more throughout the week!

I've been gaining an appreciation for Road Atlanta thanks to the Gr 4's speed and knack of finding a rhythmic groove around a circuit, at least in time trial, in race it's largely what I was bothered with the the first time it was put in a daily - it's a shovefest with no room and no run off to recover.

But at least I'm finishing a little higher up.

It's also a gorgeous render, similar to Watkins Glen it's a pleasure to drive such a detailed representation of a real track. Credit to PD.

RBR is still a chore for me in GT cars, it's an odd one because it's a favourite from the F1 games but for some reason I can't get into it at these speeds and unfortunately it is a divebomb fest on almost every corner. The tire strategy gives it a little flavour this time so I may give it a few more goes at least but roll on next week for me.

It's really good fun, and the track fits it well.

I managed a 1:04.6 yesterday, good enough for P17 at the time, but when I came back home later, I found out that I'm still only fourth on my friend's list...😱

Yeah, my parents had always told me to chose my friends wisely...😆
Well if you're 4th I dare not look

As usual with Race A I gave it 1 lap and 1 race and that's that, don't get the thrill of driving clappers around, I do that in real life.

Another shovefest as well by my 1 race experience. Not a good week for those SR obsessives.

With all the talk about race b, what is your qt/dr/starting position. Just curious where I sit
Right now I'm at DR C SR S, QT currently 1:27:877. If I'm in a DR D lobby I'm almost always in the top 5 starting, DR C lobbies I've been either in the middle or back of the pack so far.

They is a verity cars used for this race so strategy is a bit mixed one with this.
I don’t think they is a preferred starting tyre. 8-16 I’d start on mediums, top 7 pick either, but maybe top 3 start on soft.
GTR 18 - majority are doing 3 mediums rest soft. This strat requires you to be a little gentle on the softs. Seen people finish with no tyres left
Genesis - I’m doing 5 medium rest soft with this car. Extra mediums allows me to push harder on the softs
AMG - 4/5 mediums
Supra - 5/6 mediums

Might be worth to doing a race and been conservative first, seen how your tyres last and also see what others do, but as I said they is a verity of stops possible.

Just seeing a few others saying they don’t like RBR? I’m quite surprised by that, thought RBR was a fan’s favourite.

I have decided to really try hard this week and rescue my abysmal DR/SR which had fallen to D/B. My first last night at 22:30...Won by 19 seconds 👌👌. Started on mediums and couldn't believe how good the Gtr is on them... I actually didn't pit until end of lap 6 because I was putting a gap on 2nd consistently. Should really have got fastest lap too but I am still falling foul of the track limits at turn 2. Backed it up with 2nd the next race ( and fastest lap). Next 2 races I was back to C/A and got a 6th a 7th from p14. Going to enjoy this week's C 👍

Race A looks fun. I'm real glad we're getting a reason to use the Copen, or any kei car for that matter.
There's a Copen league floating around in the GT7 Leagues & Online Racing section. ;)

E: I'm looking forward to trying the Copen at this track. I wonder how many people have figured out that the strategy with this car is to short shift it?
