My enthusiam for sport mode has been faltering the past few weeks. Regardless, I joined my first race of the week at 22.30 UK time on Friday night just now. Race C. The lobby stuck, we waited for 9 minutes and then an unexpected error CE-00000something occured.

So I switched the game off and I'll go do something else...

On Racing Softs? I think someone made a mistake, because PD never lets us use RS tires. That would be way too much fun!

The real question is, did you break anything?

Lol no, I'm naturally calm. I do love this game and its given me countless hours of joy, but it does test even the most patient of people at times. It really does a good job of sending you to other pastimes on occasion. Free time is precious etc etc...
All very true, and many, many weeks that has been the case for me. But I absolutely love Catalunya, even if 4 laps is too short, so right now I'm back to loving it. Good luck for you!

Race C in Suzuka was really fun. Raced 4 times this week so far, 2nd/2nd/1st/1st in a lobby of A+ to Bs. Fastest time in finishing the race for me was 18min 25s. I'm still not so familiar with the lobby splits, is there a lobby split that reaches up to A+/A only? Or is there only a mix of As/Bs on most weekdays?

@Famine (or anyone else who knows) - What time of day do the various servers around the world change the weekly races? I made the silly mistake, oversight really, of assuming it was always midnight local time but of course that's not the case everywhere.

Thanks.

Hoping race C is Gr3 cars... would be good practice for the Manu race.
Did 3 practice runs with each car on BoP Medium settings on RS tires just now. Will still expect some changes in times when the official race is up but also depends on fuel and RH performance to find the best race car, as you obviously know 🤣👽

I don't know if the BoP for next week's C and the Manu race are the same, but my best lap is with the Supra at a 43.1, then AMG with a 43.2, then the McLaren was a 43.9. I was struggling with the McLaren and know there is more pace there. Just seems like the McLaren struggles with the slower corners as it doesn't quite have the power to pull out of them.

I still want to give some time to the 2011 AMG as that car has some pace in it as well.

Yeah, you being 1.5s faster than me is normal, so I have a chance for some mid-place finishes

I don't recall precisely, but it's somewhere around 5-8am UTC, and they all change at the same time.

The first race A and C of a new daily race schedule are at 7am UTC, the first race B is at 7:10am UTC.
That sounds about right to me. Does it change based on Daylight Saving Time? I would think not, since not everyone has DST, or has it at the same time.

EDIT: Thanks!

7am UTC is always 7am UTC - it's a universal time that doesn't get adjusted for anything.

Other timezones might change in relation to how far off UTC they are (through daylight savings, etc.) but UTC remains a constant.

Thanks. I should remember that from my Developer days, but honestly, the one thing I absolutely hated was dealing with time zones, so I'm not surprised I didn't remember that.

Still not sure about featuring such a powerful car like the '13 Viper GTS - or any Viper, for that matter - at a relatively smaller course like Sardegna Road Track B or C. I guess I'll just have to do some qualifying laps to see how it feels. Maybe it'll still be fun, who knows?

It's a shame everyone uses the NSX for Race C, I've been using the RS5 DTM because why not and finished top 3 each time. BoP still hit and miss but a bit of variety from opponents would be good.
I started with the RS5 DTM and liked it but ultimately switched to the NSX. I just found it faster and more controllable in the curves resulting in an overall improvement in QT of over a second. That was hard to ignore..

I did a couple of C races in the early hours last night. First race I started 7th and I was up to 5th but did some grass cutting and barrier meet ups that dropped me down to 9th but still managed to climb back up to finish 6th when I wasn't driving like an idiot.

The next race had a very mixed field. There were 5 DR A drivers (I'm lower B) in the race and a lot of faster Bs. I QT in 10th but got up 9th only to drop again when one of the As side swiped me in turn 1 lap 3 (so much for better driving ethics of A drivers  ). I did gain one spot to finish 9th (so I guess that was okay in such a stacked field) and most people finished around where they QT'd.

Every 800pp race in single player, I find the Audi to be an absolute killer. The thing sips fuel, is easy on tires, and can outrun just about anything. In Sport I can't compete with it. It's odd. Love that car though!

I really really really can't believe this.

I have been racing all day won a couple mostly top 5 finishes moved my SR back to S and at NO time messaged or insulted anyone. I learned that lesson. I even streamed for an hour or so.

I quit my last race with the pedal calibration issue. I was racing to improve my SR nothing more nothing less.

This is pathetic as I did nothing wrong.

Edit: At that time I was actually at the shop buying cigarettes and some beers.

Im absolutely dumbfounded quite frankly.

I've also played CoD for nearly 20 years and never had this sort of thing before. Especially when I didn't do anything.

Further Edit: Kimi gets to drive like he does and yet never gets banned or suspended.

Sure we are all rubbish in our moments but largely it's one offs and not vindictive.

This really has done me. As it means I can't even race ACC online.

What's your car livery like?

Do you have a headset and were you saying rude words out loud?
I do and I did but no worse than kie and it was limited to the what the f you doing and only maybe twice. It's all on stream as I only use the headset when I stream which is as rare as unicorn tears to be honest.

Edit not in a group chat and secondly that's a YouTube thing nothing to do with my behaviour on PSN.

As I said I learned my lesson on that one.

Would it matter? There's no voice chat in GT7

That'd do it, especially if you've already been put on the naughty step...
Ok I'll swallow my medicine but, quite honestly my content is my content and I didn't message, insult or reach out to anyone.

I expressed an opinion on a platform that isn't PSN.

It's going to take a lot to bring me back to this game now. The poor standards of driving and conduct are lost behind frustrated people condoning the behaviour (not in the best way and I hold my hands up on that)

But as I said we can watch endless meme driver videos (I've actually never had a problem when racing him...weird) and yet I swear briefly and in the moment on YT and that constitutes a ban.

As I said I learned my lesson calling someone a muppet in a dm but I moved on and wasn't repeating that.

Edit: noted, won't use names.

Edit: I can't even do time trials now.

With the lack of SP content and enforced week away from racing competitively. I don't think I'll be back. I deserved my first ban for being to hot headed messaging people. I learned from that and just focus on the racing and move on.

This is gutting quite honestly.

Edit: here is the stream. I do swear in the moment and in context and a little angry but I step away have a smoke and do it all again. It's only 45m long so skip around. It's largely looking at the seat with a guy trying in between.

Something seems off about this. Would you really get banned for swearing on a different platform just because you're streaming a PS game? Every streamer and their dog I watch (except Rory because he is unphaseable) has moments where they get punted or make a stupid move and swear like a sailor at someone for a minute or two. I've never seen anything come of it for any of them.

It doesn't add up to me. How would they know and how would you even get reported?
