Something seems off about this. Would you really get banned for swearing on a different platform just because you're streaming a PS game? Every streamer and their dog I watch (except Rory because he is unphaseable) has moments where they get punted or make a stupid move and swear like a sailor at someone for a minute or two. I've never seen anything come of it for any of them.

It doesn't add up to me. How would they know and how would you even get reported?
I would show you my messages but I can't even access them in the app.

Yes previously I've really got in to arguements or had arguing chats inc swearing with people.

I've also messaged and sworn at people, PRIOR to being told off about it. I moved on. I don't do that now and haven't done. Learned my lesson and life really is to short.

I raced from 10am GMT to 17:30GMT with a 2 hour brake and the odd missed B race.

My friends list is all good racers.

I'm really at a wonder of what I really did.

Edit: for context how I am in the stream is like I am out of stream, in fact I race better not streaming hence why I don't stream often. I do swear and get annoyed and before I might message people but I don't now. Oh well I have a week to learn my lesson. :/

Unless they told you the specific time it happened, it's worth remembering it can take a couple of days for them to process a report - not usually but I've seen it (I'll always report random racist nonsense in the chat and don't think it's useless doing so).

I can't imagine it's anything outside of the game itself, so you can't recall saying anything in the lobby chats at all in the last say 72 hours? Nothing that could be misconstrued even into something you perhaps didn't mean?

Nope not a thing, I'm certainly not racist or xenophobic.

I've called out some poor driving but nothing that would be considered by passing the filters and definitely not via DM.

I have called people idiots in DM (stronger than that but I paid my penance on that) but haven't since.

I have other videos up that shows how and who I am. If this is a deferred punishment it's several weeks late.

I've been temporarily banned (usually 24 hours a pop) for calling others dirty scum after races, obviously for punting me and others off on purpose. They (PD) never investigate the cause, which is a shame.

My advice is to bite your tongue, even if you are 100,000% in the right! All it needs is for the scum to click on report player and without any investigation, you'll be the one who suffers... ⚰️

Wasn't at all suggesting that, apologies if it came across that way.

This is so contextual man, and the people reviewing it will not have that context, it's better to not say a thing, I would place money it's in one of these messages.

Sadly Sony will never confirm what it was and you can't appeal.

This is quite literally lifted from the PlayStation code of conduct pages:

Remember that any inappropriate, offensive, or threatening content you say, upload, or stream can be reviewed by PlayStation Safety. If the Safety team finds that you have breached the Code of Conduct, you may be suspended from PlayStation Network.

Yep, I learned from a ban as well; just click exit lobby. No matter how much you want to say you can't get back from that point and you've saved yourself some BS.

This is quite literally lifted from the PlayStation code of conduct pages:
The irony is sting when other streamers and im not a streamer can flaunt those rules alongside the "meme" drivers.

It harks of a autocracy very much like the way PD handles their game.

Anyways.

Was fun doing lap-times and contributing on a few threads and posting videos.

Go fast and brake earlier.

FYI you can make a new account and get around the ban. Only thing is you'll be starting GT7 from scratch.

They cannot. Anyone who ignores the rules does so at their own risk - it would only take one person to take a dislike and report them.
Does that need a new PSN account? I don't mind grinding the menu books but if it's a whole new PSN sub I'm out :(
You'd need a new PSN account, but you don't need more PS Plus. Any account on a console which has one account with a PS Plus subscription shares the benefits of it on that console.

You understand my vague frustration regardless of the T&C as many many people dislike some streamers

I get the nuance here but they get a by and I get a ban. It's frustrating.

Sure rules is rules but they aren't uniformly applied.

Or it doesn't seem that way.

T&C or pages like those usually say a lot of stuff that never get puts into action to be fair. There are certainly streamers with a much bigger pottymouth than newmedia that also have a lot more enemies who would jump at the chance to get them banned.

I do believe it's possible for it to be the stream, but having clicked through the stream gameplay, I would wager it was this message sent at 29:30.

I've seen people suspended for less.

I think you are right.

I was right in the moment as the guy was taking different lines to cover in places that invite being hit because I was racing my committed line.

That said, was it that offensive? Maybe it depends on sensibilities. Was it necessary. No from my side and his with his driving.

Oh well we live and we learn.

Thank you @Mercia my US account works!!

As we're probably both aware, most "enemies" are spectacularly stupid

I'd imagine a small selection of streamers (qualifying World Final attendees, approved and invited influencer list) have a... limited bit of protection from above, but then most of them wouldn't need to lean on it. For others, especially if they're streaming through the PlayStation's features itself, it'd just take a big ol' swear and a particularly dickish troll to report them.

That said, was it that offensive?
Doesn't matter. If you drop an expletive, you've broken the rules... same as here on GTPlanet.

Though I thought you said you hadn't messaged anyone:

I have been racing all day won a couple mostly top 5 finishes moved my SR back to S and at NO time messaged or insulted anyone.

Not going to get in to the semantics, I just asked some one to pick a racing line.

It was in a public chat in a game provided way to communicate.

But as I said I'll take my medicine, I just find it a rather bitter pill to swallow.

Edit: I mean it's not like F1 drivers don't vent some frustrations...

It was innocuous at best and hardly offensive compared to the playground or real life either child or adult. And I've had children say much worse to me.

So where does this end. You can't call out rubbish driving, factoring younger people so you meter your language.

I did the best part of 15 races today. With zero incident and the day before and the day before that.

Why now? It just irks me. Sorry I'm annoyed especially as I'm at the better end of the lobbies I'm in :(

More than a month since my last win, and I honestly don't know when was the last time I got FL and CRB along with first place. As @TheNormsk mentioned to me just a few hours ago, I need to add a checkbox for FL in GranTracker.

OK guys, let me set this short clip up, then you tell me how much of a jerk was I?

I was P2, and right from the start, my R.S.01 accelerated faster than P1's R.S.01. No idea why. In fact, I had to slow down a little before we even got to the first braking area. I suppose you could chalk it up to slip stream, except I've never had it work this quickly.

Right after I had to lift for a sec, P1 slowed down way earlier than I expected, and I had to swerve to the right to keep from plowing into him. That brought us up side-by-side through the first turn, and I decided to just keep going for it. I ended up squeezing him on the next turn, which I felt bad about and it's the reason for this question. Anyway, after that, I was never challenged, and I finished with more than a 4 second lead. I had a brief moment of feeling like I could actually race!

Anyway, take a look at this short clip of the start, and tell me how bad I should feel for how I squeezed him. I mean, I feel bad, but on the other hand, he never caught up either, so I don't feel too bad.

That’s pretty mild compared to most B lobbies I’ve been in.

It was close. At the turn in, it looked like he did have overlap up to your driver's door, might have been the right thing to do to leave him space. I wouldn't expect anyone in sport mode actually does that though.

Honestly, I would have give him some space, but I got kind of flummoxed with the whole situation and was just trying not to lose it myself. If I were a better driver, I would have been able to do both.

This is kinda nuts. I just discovered recently that its possible to flip someone off in Pavlov. Which is fantastic, and made me wish for a bit of hand tracking in gt7 for us VR people..someday!

Anyway, being able to gesture, but not say, in the ps5 eco is amuse.

I love playing stewardship! The pole sitter had lost his first position as soon as he braked, as evidenced by you comfortably making T1 like Talon said.

Without having telemetry, I am gonna guess that the pole sitter panicked and hoped to regain lead by sticking to his line, swerving at last second to avoid hitting you, then correcting by swerving back and hitting you and then refusing to back off from the contact, believing that he had right to more space, when he already had lost right of any space as soon as he braked.

In real life, this contact could have led to spinning out of at least one car, and maybe even cause enough damage to be out of the race. Most stewards would likely have punished the pole sitter for the contact. F1 stewards likely wouldn't, since they don't punish first lap incidents anymore.

You did nothing wrong. You already gave him space when all the space already belonged to you.

I'm done with daily races this week. I just had two miserable races that called into question the whole worth of GT7 online races if they are not matched correctly....

I started the evening trying to improve my QT in daily B but it just was not happening. Trying to get turns 9 and 14 correct is killing me. After about 2 hours I gave up... Went to daily C and I usually do okay in that one and when matched with comparable DR rated drivers I can often get top 5. Instead I got matched with this line up. I mean, WTF!!!

Gran Turismo® 7_20230624223124.jpg

Now I am a lowly B rating at only 27% progress but it matched me with 2 A+ and 9 A drivers. They're so far ahead of me it's not funny. First lap I was feeling relative competitive and stayed with the pack and was actually finding P13 holding me up, but one of those A+ appeared to be one of those, "let's not QT and race from the back" kind of drivers. He blew past me and P13 so quick that it threw off my rhythm and I lost it into the complex and crashed out. I did continue but ended up last, 1 minute 8 seconds back. It was not fun.

Thinking that, for whatever reason regular DR Bs were avoiding race C on a Saturday night, I thought I would give B a go after all.

Gran Turismo® 7_20230624231124.jpg

DOUBLE WFT!! This one is even worse! 3 A+ and 8 A drivers. Also why do I have a DR A behind me again? Starting out was not so bad and I made it up to 11th mid lap 1. What I did not know was that pole sitter had deliberately pulled off to the side at the start so as to race from the back. So I actually had an A+ and A nipping at my heels entering turn 14. A+ driver makes the move first. Now this corner is my nemesis, I hate it, and he gets on the inside as I am trying my best to hit the apex and not fling myself into the gravel. He gets inside of me (quit precisely, admittedly on replay, but not visible to me at the time) and he slaps me in the side as I continue my racing line across his path. I'm sure he would say it was my fault but I'm going as quick as I can possibly drive. It's not my fault, mr A+ decided to start from the back after QTing in pole. He's obviously so much faster than everyone else, I would expect a higher level of sportsmanship. Not my fault PD put me in a field of A/A+ drivers; it sucks to be a low B in such a race. Anyway, I was not please.

Then through turns 1, 2 and the beginning of 3, Mr A driver makes his turn to pass me.

That moved looks a bit dirty to me, particularly where I was punted off at turn 3. Not impressed.

That allowed the other Bs to catch up to me and at T4 having been unsettled by Mr A driver, I got a little lose (my fault from over accelerating) and then one of the cars behind caught my rear quarters and I was spun out into the wall.

After that it was a lonely drive to come in last (16th).

Disgusted, I switched the PS5 off, thoroughly PO'd with the night.

Seriously what was going on with the matching? I should never have been in those lobbies.
Screenshot 2023-06-25 at 12.31.54 AM.png

I'm clearly a low DR B driver as that is where I have plateaued. I have no capability to race against A+/A drivers. Even mid/high B drivers usually leave me in the dust... Where'd all the low B's go? Down the pub...?

Question, if you exit a race after seeing the lobby but before you start does this still kill your DR/SR or can you exit if you do not like the lobby?

It's a shame everyone uses the NSX for Race C, I've been using the RS5 DTM because why not and finished top 3 each time. BoP still hit and miss but a bit of variety from opponents would be good.
It's good that so many use the NSX - I don't know whether anybody else has noticed, but most of the quitters seem to be driving the NSX!

There were 8 of us left in one race I ran yesterday, all of the quitters were in the NSX.

I guess people see that it's setting the fastest QT, and then find it's not so easy to race with.

Oh hey that's me! I crashed out of the lead and tilted that race... definitely not a fun one. I do find the fields kind of mismatched this week. I'm surprised I've been racing with the mix of As/Bs the whole time when before it wouldn't be so hard to find A/A+ only lobbies. At these ratings mix I usually find its just my own race to lose since the pace from P1-3 is often much faster than the rest of the field, which leads to a pretty one-sided race.
