Being that the featured car for Race A is the Merak, its fitting that I should use the JOK'E' 229N livery aka the one that Jeremy Clarkson used for the budget supercars episode from Top Gear.

Got queued with @LeGeNd-1 on one of the races and suffice to say, I got pressured so hard that I had to step on it on the last lap after he got the FL and in the process I managed to get the FL on the last lap and win it as well. Good race overall.

Also just like the others, I only managed to do three for today and all of them I managed to win despite not getting pole on those three sessions as the pole sitter had a very low 1:26 while I can only muster a 1:26.1 qualifying time.

Regarding penalties, here's a funny little trick:

If you get a .5 track limit penalty on the final lap, and it appears likely that you won't serve it before the finish line, it gets rounded up to 1 second at the end.
So if the car or cars behind you are within a second, they will be awarded with your position.
Why not get yourself another .5 penalty if it can help you to stretch the gap to more than a second?

A 1.0 penalty and a .5 penalty count the same at the end of the race. :D
...and if I did this, I'd pick-up a full 1 sec on my way to glory and land myself right back where I started.🤣 Excellent point that I hadn't thought of, though!👍

Great freakin' week at LM, really wish I would have had more time for races. Broke into the 56's (barely) and was really, really competitive out on the tarmac. Some flippin' awesome runs with lots of side-by-side time. Discovered the esses can make for some spectacular passes when working through traffic, too.

Out of a dozen or so races, only had two verifiable homicides plus various attempts. The other two abysmal finishes were 100% mine to own. Like when I was cruising along with three seconds on P2 and touched the grass exiting the esses. I was suddenly treated to a high-speed, 450 degree view of my surroundings, left facing the wall.😁

All-in-all, gonna miss that combo. If we got to share track time, thanks for the race!

Wow sad back to short races again like nobody ever left those

Maybe those are too long as well?

Then you get people complaining about too many 3 lap races then they complain about lack of races longer than 3 laps.

Boy i'm getting tired of it and can't wait for AC2 to come out maybe they'll have online races longer than 3 minutes because that's all most gt people can handle so we get these really short races

LM in the GR3's was absolutely brilliant last week, loved it as well. Some of the best racing I have had in GT7.

Me when the casual racing game has races for a casual audience

If only we could race the Merak with an h-pattern shifter in sport mode. Old complaint I know! But still …

Is this the week that I finally try to get fast at Bathurst? Have never been able to come down the mountain at speed without binning it regularly!
Are you fanatec? The sequential mode isn’t horrible. Little bit of the visceral slammy slammy with left footed braking. Its a little weird, but not as weird as my phantom right hand in VR..!

Yes, sequential is def better than nothing for such a race. With VR it feels stupid to shift such a car with paddles

@AdxRE you are now officially an alien. Top 100 time for daily C, well done! Was this a one hit wonder or you are really that fast consistently?Tomorrow is my last day of racing for a while, but I will try to get at least below 2:02min

Won't lie, glad I'm on this side of the pond. If I remember correctly, some of y'all over there are in the 56's and starting lower in the grid. I guess nobody over here can put the beer down for a full lap, I'm sittin' P1 - 3 with a 1:56.9xx.😁

@cyirush I'm with ya' there. Have not had much time at the mountain in GT7. What I have had has left me a bit uninspired terrified. Then again, Gr.4's haven't been jiving with me lately either. Absolutely love running Bathurst, though. Should be an interesting week.

You watch, I bet I end-up running nothing but Gr.4 all week long.🤣🤣🤣

Does driving with bad/ red oil still have an effect on car performance due to BoP? Realized this after doing some laps and going to the GT Auto to add a livery and checked oil just out of curiosity... Had a few chances to hit the 1:09:5 a few times but mucked it up, optimal was around 1:09:6 so should be fun as the laps add up 😀

It definitely affects stand-alone qualifying. Not sure if it affects Q while waiting for the rcae to start, and people seem fairly sure it doesn't affect the actual race. My advice? Check it regularly and change it when it's "normal". Why take chances - it's cheap.

Thanks but the real aliens haven’t got to do their QT laps yet I reckon 🤣, I am almost 2 sec off the top time after all. Though the Time Trial 2 weeks ago at Bathurst (also on RS) helped quite a bit (Managed 1:59.9 on that one).

Not sure if you or anyone else feels the same but it seems to me the track is “slower” in this Daily C QT compare to the Time Trial, but it could be just me.

2:00.460 is what I managed in the McLaren. Lost two tenth when I smashed into the wall at T2 but otherwise as quick as I could go without investing serious time into this (or switching to the Genesis).

Also did 3 races. Race 1 had me spinning at the downhill section and required a 20-point turn. Race 2 & 3 went okay (Finished 4th and 2nd, Full A Lobby) except this moment.

Don’t be like me guys. 😂 That probably cost me the win in Race 3!

It's only early in the week and Daily B is hugely technical to get alien times from.

Just the amount of confidence you have to have in several acceleration exits and the super awkward first sector.

I might be able to improve just to make @Nebuc72 work a little harder but this is the best I can muster at the moment.

Oooh so close 😂 I messed up again: Was 0.4s faster than the below but crashed on the exit of final corner after being too enthusiastic ⚰️😂 There's always tomorrow 😝 Just 0.06 between us with the current timings 😉

Not sure how I feel about it. Lasted 3 corners. All self inflicted I might add.

On balance initial impressions are none of the races play to my strengths this week.

I do better at tracks that seem to be flatter than ones with large elevation changes or road feeling tracks.

This is ok, this is not Pokémon of racing so I don't have to catch them all.

It's probably my driving style that doesn't like these type of circuits this week and my style is to trail brake a little more and hit the power to hard. I should square a lot of the corners off more and take my own advice in race to brake earlier.

How many laps do the softs last on the McLaren AdxRE?

Oh how I wish my race result was due to self-inflicted errors.... 😡

I started in P7 and was in P5 by the end of lap 1, all overtakes rather than other drivers' mistakes, etc. P6 behind had a C-rating in SR.... I got murdered, sent to the very back as he tried to go to my inside inside the runner (T1/ T2) and then also nudged me into the wall....

Down to last and with damage. I climb up to P13 only to get taken out again, and also meeting the barriers once again. Lap 4 one driver who went off and had dirty tires, damage and a penalty decided to block me as I was driving past and again, boom, into the barriers I go.

Finally, same guy who killed me the first time has a 4.5s penalty and facing the wrong way as I drive past. Catch up to another driver who hits me wide and guess what?! Down again I go with damage as well. By the end of the race, I think I had been killed 6 times and the offensive thing is I lost a lot of SR and DR in one race.

Thank you, PD ,for allowing B and C rated drivers (SR) in the same lobbies as those who actually try to race fair and have the highest possible sportsmanship rating and etiquette!

God, I love this logic.... (not really)

Well I just ran my first lap in the QT Session and clocked a 1'30.287 so I have work to do narrowing it down. I'd love to get in the top 500-600. I notice I have to brake early in advance to control the car so it does not slide when turning through corners. I think this will be a fun combo at WG.

Does anyone have a replay that's a little better than mine? I can't find any ghosts or replays in the leaderboard next to my time. I'd like to see how to get past the sweeper part quicker. The rest I can handle and figure out.

EDIT: Just ran another lap at Watkins Glen and got 1'29.809, I didn't slide much and tried to be careful with my braking during the sweeper section and near the bus stop. I try to coast and let the car do it's job. Flow is the key to improving lap times.

Ok, well I'll start with the Mclaren one, then work my way towards the GTR and Ferrari! I'll post the videos of the progress I've made here tonight.
