FML.....also the 2 stop strat to get rid of the incorrect IM tires is not a good plan B.

Been to hell and back this morning!

Got sucked into a wee bit of retaliation at Laguna which dropped my SR to A. Next few races I’m in B lobbies but with B and C SR drivers. Holy expletive deleted! If you think S lobbies are bad, this was a whole new level of dirty. There was even one clown with a D SR! How is it even possible to be B/D? I’ll let you all guess what country he was proudly representing lol …

Upside is I survived, got a podium as they’re slower, and got back to S. Then had a great race B/S race.

Lesson is don’t let your SR drop!

But also supremely happy!

I have had this game since Day 1 and I have NEVER even come close to pushing myself so hard to improve on my own time!! I didn't look at the LB, just at my own time and wasn't going to stop until I either do it or die trying lol.

75 laps later - I did it! I will not even attempt another TT run, just race but definitely not now as honestly broken lol.

My recent adventures in the lower echelons of SR made me realize I’m not entirely clear on what causes SR to drop (apart from taking someone out deliberately!).

I had several races recently where my SR went down despite having, as far as I can recall, zero contact with anyone.

Do track limit penalties cause SR to fall? Or hitting the wall? Or other kinds of self-inflicted offs/crashes? Or contact with another car even if the game doesn’t give a penalty?

Remember in GT Sport there’d be the little up or down arrow during a race indicating which direction your SR was going?

I seriously don't understand how you control that car like you do. This is far from the first example posted! If I try that, literally 10/10 times I am in the wall, facing backwards, in the middle of the run off, then reset with 43.7 seconds worth of pens.

Hat's off to ya', that's crazy!

@GOTMAXPOWER uses a controller so he has a great advantage in car control with all of the built in controller aids over is simple wheel users. PD should really do something about this 😏

I got real drowsy so I had to sleep for 7-8 hours this afternoon, I woke up at about 7:30pm, so I feel refreshed. I saw the tracks that are gonna be featured next week. They're doing Monza again for the B slots next week? Wow, what a surprise. That is one of my favorite tracks in the game.

Lol, no Techno is your friend and guider to being the best driver in the world, I'm the one that needs more motivation. I had to push myself during my 12 years of schooling, I graduated in 2011, but I had to put tons of work in. My diploma didn't fall in my lap. I need to study y'all's replays more.

That red Ferrari was me 😂. I was racing on my second account and a driver two places back missed his braking point badly, swerved to miss the Peugeot that is apexing in the photo and crashed directly into the back of me. My car hit the red barrier, smashing into pieces while my car got launched in the air 😂

It’s funny actually, my car sort of continued on and landed back on the racing line facing towards Lesmos, I lost a place or two but was able to continue with no major inconvenience lol.

Kimi wannabe, the difference is the original account has the pace to be deep into A+ and is quite funny in the chat, this bargain store knockoff is slow and drives ugly. Not a great combination.

I found a little trick at Monza turn 1 to avoid being hit from behind, it can be a bit finicky to get right but if you force your car to be a ghost in the braking zone you have 100% guaranteed safety 👍

My internet was down for half the day yesterday, because someone cut the fiber cable in my area. Man did that suck - ended up not being able to do any races yesterday. I'm jonesing for hit.

Sometimes I think it depends on the track. For example, I remember one race where if I went off track, even a little, I didn't get a CRB (and I assume my SR went down?) And yes, in some races, track limits affect SR. Also, contact with other cars that don't result in a penalty - for example, bump drafting can sometimes affect SR.

Anyone: If I'm wrong on any of this, feel free to chime in.

I did try it again last night starting from the back and yeah... You're going a lot faster into turn 1 from there, one 360° spin becomes a 900° pointing the wrong way one pretty quick 😬

Did two races (Laguna Seca) this morning and last one was nuts!

Race 1 - I started in P6 and finished in P5, nothing too exciting but racing was close and fun.

Race 2 - Oh boy! I start in P3 and after leader goes wide towards the end of lap 1, I am side-by-side for the lead as lap 2 starts. The dude (in my opinion) leaves the door open on the inside and turns into me like I am not there. I manage to squeeze through and he is close behind me in P2.

As we head into the upfield left-hander before the corkscrew, he intentionally flies into me and send the both of us into the dirt. He manages to come out in P5 (soon to be P3 by barging off 2 drivers) whilst I am lingering in P7 with dirty tires.... By the beginning of lap 4, I am back up in P5 and catch up to him as he is serving a penalty. Of course, rather than move to the side, he tries to block me but I was faster and exited T1 ahead of him.

Naturally, this wasn't to his liking so as I try to turn into T4, he side-swipes me and overtakes me. However, donkey also tries to ram-off the next car and even though he managed to do so, he followed him into the gravel and I was finally rid of the dirty POS and back in P3. As the final lap started, I overtook P2 who was serving a penalty and managed to finish in that position after such a horrible race!

Obviously had to let him know he is a donkey 🤣

I've had plenty of clean race bonuses in races where I got a track limit penalty.
I think that maybe if you serve the slow down penalty during the race, you're all good.
But, if you get a penalty on the last lap, and can't serve it before the finish, that may cost you some SR points..... maybe

Got a few more races in tonight. From a sloppy Q lap to a race with some contact, i don't think it was intentional, and my mistakes in the race made this a interesting one.

After a few weeks of not racing, due not liking the combinations, it's been a good week at Laguna in the 650 (still about 4/10ths off @AdxRE 's qualy time) sometimes against 15 G70s. Also seen A+ chaps take wins in the Supra and GT-R and 155 too though. I scraped one win in the US and one UK one - mostly due others' mistakes but I'm happy to take them!

After a few bad runs I dropped to DR B, but that had me on pole a few times so got back to A - where I now start around 12th (which is an awkward place to start at Laguna!)

Also nice to see @TechnoIsLove for the first time (I think?) you finished 3rd but I screwed up and ended 15th.

I assume you were kidding, but even if you weren't, it's good to be reminded that everyone has their struggles and successes, no matter what level we're at. And by the way, the apartment feels like it's 30 stories high.

I ran wide going up the hill and couldn't really catch up again - wish they'd given us an extra couple of laps (I wish this every week on B 😂)

The next couple of races were good - a 5th and a 6th. I might have to give the G70 a go before the races change over..
