No, he didn't. I called him "dirty scum" after waiting a few seconds for an apology which never came then he left šŸ¤£ But at least karma got him on the 2nd race.

I do practice many defending lines, even against my own ghost to see how I could defend or attack someone taking the ones I had previously set myself. Actually does help also keep your mind cool when under pressure :)
I need to catch up with you guys, but I don't have any motivation. Are you all using the controller or something else? I don't think I'd be too good with the wheel or the motion sensor thing as it would be more advanced stuff for me to learn and get a handle on.

I know Glen uses a wheel with an equipment setup like Mistah_MCA has, but idk about the rest of you. If I get brave in the future I may try the wheel or D-pad, but we'll see...

The input method is not the issue. This isn't to say that you can't have it easier on wheel or pad, but it takes practice regardless of what you use.

I was an A driver with a pad and I'm a B driver now with a wheel. I've used a game pad for more than 3/4 of my life. I'm not getting time on a wheel that would even become comparable.

Just don't use the pad face buttons for throttle and break, or the d-pad for steering. Keep practicing. šŸ’Ŗ

Monza Daily C in VR. Love it!! I think VR is such a cool system, but Iā€™ve never really warmed to it, and never raced properly with it. This week though VR has made the racing really exciting for me. With only 3 real big braking zone is definitely an easy track for me learn spatial awareness to other cars, and also how to quickly use the mirrors.

Done a couple of races today and had 2 very good races. Both have been clean races and also into T1 I've managed to avoid chaos in both races. Started mid pack and finished mid pack. Didnt lose a starting position so thatā€™s good. Very enjoyable this Monza.
One thing I have noticed is the Supra! Itā€™s starting to become popular in the races and seems to be the go to car now for a few.

This is my 2nd race. Nothing much happens, but just a cool VR experience for anyone interested

I have the DD Pro with 15nm booster pack, sitting on a NLR F-GT cockpit. Need to get the load cell for the brakes and then I am happy with my setup.

So seeing Laguna Seca on the board for B this week wasn't a happy moment for me considering the trials I've had there in the past. That track just seems like there's ice in a few of the corners for me as it's so easy to just slide right off on my own, never mind some rubber head helping me out by dive bombing my inside. But never the less I decided to give it a go since I had done better then I'd expected at Trial Mountain last week after discovering the Audi R8 Evo was better for me than the 911. I even managed to win once on Saturday morning with it, thus motivating me to retire for the week on that high note. I'm a low B DR and I had barely managed to hang on to it by just a sliver before that last win.
But a funny thing has happened so far this week, I've ran 7 races at LS and somehow, someway, i've managed to gain DR on every race. Even that last one that had more A drivers than B drivers in the lobby. Started 11th and finished 7th. So now i'm a bit gunshy debating if I should just retire for the week now. As I'm up around 30% of B. lol.
I did get lucky a few times, I've finally been rewarded for patience on the first lap this week, by letting the uber aggressive drivers take themselves out instead of mixing it up with them. I also saw something I don't recall ever seeing, 4 cars slide off the track together. Happened on the big sweeping left hander right after the corkscrew, I went from 9th to 4th in one turn as those 4 went off, and as the first one to come back on took out the guy in front of me, who was carrying a 2 second penalty already for taking out 2 guys in front of him on the previous 3 corners. Was a guy I let by because he happened to be from a certain South American country I won't name, but in my experience 80% of those guys are uber aggressive and I could see it coming. So zoomed to 4th and the guy in second was carrying a 4 second penalty for, I'm guessing causing the 4 car electric slide to begin with, anyways I managed to bring it home 5 that race after starting 13th. Wishing I would have saved the replay tbh.

Today I had some nice clean races and three very dirty ones. But finally I was able to realize my first victory in a daily race.

I've always hated the Corkscrew at Laguna, because all my life since my gt3 era I always went too fast and braked late which caused me to have an accident in the sand going downhill. Does anyone else feel my pain here?
Watch some replays. The key is to come into the first turn slower than you think. Once you start going down the hill, or even at the apex of that first turn, switch to a higher gear. I usually come up to the turn in 2nd, then switch to 3rd when going down the hill and turning right. (depending on the car of course)
So seeing Laguna Seca on the board
Nice to have you here! I'd like to suggest that you break apart your comments into separate, much shorter paragraphs. It's hard for some people (meaning me) to read a large chunk of text like that. Much easier in bite-size portions. :)

EDIT: I've had 7 races at Laguna this week. I've DNFed 3 of them. So this is a pleasant surprise:

@Famine - I have a question about double-posting, which I know has been asked many times before, but I'm still not sure how to apply the rule sometimes.

Case in point, now. It's been around 100 minutes (give or take) since I posted this original post, assuming my time math is correct, which is not a given. Since I wasn't sure, I added the above as an "EDIT" instead of a separate post. Could I have added it as a second post? In other words:
  1. Did this qualify as a "reasonable amount of time" since my last post, so I could have posted it separately?
  2. Did my edit qualify as "significant information to add to the topic, [to] present it in a new post so that others, including thread subscribers, are made aware of the update"?
I'm not trying to be a trouble-maker here - I'm a programmer and I like to know how to make decisions. "If a then b". I'm just not sure how to determine "a". Thanks.

Disagree. It is challenging but also, like all difficult things, satisfying to get right.

And itā€™s even more fun irl. Itā€™s a thrill to drop several stories to a blind apex, then get on the gas before taking Rainey as flat as possible!

The answer is easy.

If it's a separate topic, and or conversation then it's ok. It is discretionary for the mods though. It's not time related more content/substance related.

Addendums need to be added to your post, new commentary is as I understand is fine.

There is leeway as long as we generally keep the thread clean, informative or conversational with in bounds. That's how I have read previous guidance and the AUP.

There are some grey areas with people (me using a mobile) and some of the functionality isn't awesome.

Just stay on topic, don't be afraid to post but if it can be added to your previous post with some tagging do that mate.

Thanks for the tips on the Corkscrew guys, now I can visualize a driving line that can get me the highest amount of speed. I'll never give up. The Genesis G70 is an awesome car, it is a good combo for Laguna. I seem to coast through most of the turns and corners fairly well.

How do I use multiquote, I'm trying to get used to the features here. It's hard not to make mistakes when being on topic.

Your pointers how to take corner entries and exits is SPOT ON mate! My achilles heels seem to be the 2 more-straightforward corners in the whole track lol. Turns 4 and 11 - without exaggerating, I have been over half a second faster than my current 1:28:0 COUNTLESS times - making up time immediately in turns 2 and 3 then start slowly losing time existing 4, gaining another 0.3s throughout the lap then screw it all up by losing so much time on the last corner....

It infuriates me lol, mostly turn 11. I exit on average at 45 mph but I am so inconsistent in the distance it takes me to slow down to that speed... I either brake way too early and turn at 36mph or else too fast and need to wait and correct car to not go wide, also losing time and speed :/

Turns 4 and 11
Both those corners are extremely hard to get right for me too.

I think the goal for T4 is something like this:

1710455816198.png

1710455829049.png

1710455843376.png

11 is hard to get right, also. You want to go from all the way right, obviously, and as soon as you hit the apex (or a little after), in the G70, have it in 2nd gear and stomp on it.

I went a little wide on this one because I was a little to fast, but it worked:

1710456007977.png

1710456084994.png

I usually try to be about 40mph at the apex.

Disclaimer: I'm still a long way off the top of the leaderboard, so take all this with a big grain of salt.

FINALLY broke into the 1:27's šŸ„³

1710459889682.jpeg

Hopped into a race and I rarely say this BUT..... wow was I out-matched! Started in P10 and whilst P11 was only a few thousand's behind me from lap time, P9 in front was miles ahead at 1:27:6 and Pole was at 1:27:0 šŸ˜µā€šŸ’« I was the ONLY A-rated driver in the entire lobby (everyone else was A+) and I managed to keep it clean....

Was even in P8 at one point but P7 in front lost a bit of control and I wanted to keep it clean, meaning I lost a lot of speed and was overtaken by 2 from behind. Started in P10 and ended in P10 but having held my own, finished with a clean bonus and didn't finish ahead of my starting position for sportsmanship reasons, I am actually THRILLED šŸ˜€

Also, kudos to P11 and P12 behind me because they too also could have moved past me but they opted to do the same thing which cost me positions i.e. sacrifice moving up in favour of keeping it clean! Whoever you both are, you have my deepest respect and praise!!

Not my experience. Iā€™ve posted on an unrelated topic say 15 minutes after another post and had them merged.

Ugh, I got a three second penalty on Lap 1 in Race 4, the rest of the race went smooth, I finished 8th. I laughed at Lap 2, because three drivers lost control at the turn after the Corkscrew, which gave me an advantage to overtake. On Lap 5, two cars collided at the U-turn and I slowly passed them without any trouble. So, all went well there. At least the sun isn't out this time to block our view. It sometimes causes a glare which I can't see where I'm going.

@TechnoIsLove impressive time, you've learned very well!! So those two drivers didn't even bother to pass so you could win at 10th place. Wow, that was nice of them to do that!

I found a little trick at Monza turn 1 to avoid being hit from behind, it can be a bit finicky to get right but if you force your car to be a ghost in the braking zone you have 100% guaranteed safety šŸ‘

I might get that right one go in every ten! Like the way you took advantage of the nudge at the second chicane too - I know from experience I stand more chance of getting that right.

The shortcut is safer if you've already been hit on the entry, just can't take the piss with it and pass half the grid šŸ˜…

I seriously don't understand how you control that car like you do. This is far from the first example posted! If I try that, literally 10/10 times I am in the wall, facing backwards, in the middle of the run off, then reset with 43.7 seconds worth of pens.

Hat's off to ya', that's crazy!

Hasn't been a great week for me despite a somewhat decent QT at Laguna. Finally got the time to do more Race B last night and had 3 absolutely awful races to begin with. Basically got bullied off track by all the G70s (A bit like the Road Atlanta Daily we had a few weeks ago) as they are just so much quicker on corner exits and striaght, where I struggled to take the perfect line in corners for the McLaren to realise its full speed.

Fortunately the following 2 races were better, this one in particular.

Not a win but 2nd is probably the best I am gonna achieve all week. May actually give the G70 a try and see how good it actually is.

That is astonishing and I feel that is an understatement! Great car control and you are just soo good in that Porsche.

If you crash as often as I do you eventually pick up some tricks on how to crash better, it's a good car, it does what you want it too šŸ˜‰

Next week. Cool to see Blue Moon Infield on the roster but the fact it's a Daily A is disappointing. Speaking of disappointing, Monza two weeks in a row? Especially when you consider this week it's C with Gr3, and typically Gr3 & Gr4 swap B & C week to week... so Gr3 at Monza two weeks in a row?

I'd guess monza gr4 to test bop and auto gr2.

Yea, maybe. They do like to put Gr2 or SF cars on Autopolis. We just had Monza in Gr4 a couple weeks ago anyway.
Super Formula schedule:

Round 1: Suzuka Circuit (8-10 March)
Round 2: Autopolis International Racing Course (17-19 May)
Round 3: Sportsland SUGO (21-23 June)
Round 4: Fuji Speedway (19-21 July)
Round 5: Mobility Resort Motegi (23-25 August)
Round 6/7: Fuji Speedway (11-13 October)
Round 8/9: Suzuka Circuit (8-10 November)

Could it be?

Sugo confirmed for next update šŸ˜†

I managed to improve my Daily Race C qualifying time to a sub 1:48 which puts me in a comfortable position to start higher in the next Daily Race C sessions.

Did one race and it was just your usual racing as I did an undercut when the Japanese AMG GT3 '20 driver wasn't boxing yet to do his mandatory pit stop and I was able to catch up and he did a mistake on the Ascari chicane exit which allowed me to get a win from there.
