Hero to zero...
Well this was annoying - I was quite pleased to finish 7th, but a 3rd may have been possible.

And that's the sort of driving that P****s me off in online racing! There was absolutely no need for that rear quarter tap, and it looked very deliberate. 😡
Great moves round the outside though! 👍

I didn't say anything in the chat, as I wasn't sure what happened, but after I saw the replay I was pretty annoyed. Later during the race he was calling others dirty. A+ guy too.

what a great suspension setup for the GR Supra @ Monza for race B
I'm not running the Supra but Praiano has some good baselines that you can tweak to taste: Praianos Tunes

I started with their base for the 911 and started modifying to better suit my driving style. 👍

Speaking of tunes, caved and started messin' with the suspension settings a bit. Got the car more stable shootin' out of the chicanes and was able to clean-up some of my racing. Was struggling with the car being skittish/nervous and picking up penalties in the second chicane and through Ascari. Not faster, just smoother.

Payed dividends, too. Ran two races last night and started P3, finished P2 in the first one. The second one was an amazing race between P1/2/3 up to the last lap...then I spun leaving T2. Started P2, ended P5. Went through T1/2 side-by-side with another (clean) driver and picked up the inside sausage at the same time I was smashing the throttle on exit. It was still a Great. Freakin'. Race.

Monza in my Nismo: Tested out a few suspension settings, but didn't really find a good balance. Settled at a pretty low value, and a low spring rate as well. Differential settings were more impactful - increased acceleration locking a bit, at 25 now, and that made big difference. A bit more difficult to handle, but it got me down to 1:48.8xx, 4 tenths improvement.

Been afraid to do that...been having a time trying to keep the back of the car slower than the front already. Might give it a whirl, though. The other thing I was worried about was losing steering at full throttle (push) but four-tenths is difficult bait to ignore. 😁

Congrats on the lap!! Hoping to hit 48's this week but we'll see.

I'm not sure how to find what I need there. If I wanted his tune for the 911 for this week's Daily Race B, how would I find it? Thanks.
SUPER easy to read, no???🤣

It looks like they are grouped by PP and then Gr.1/2/3/4 and then are also alphabetized within their individual categories. Here's the link for the Porsche: 911 RSR

The tune was WAY too aggressive for me but it was a starting point (front and rear bars are at 9...way to edgy for me). But, any/all tunes are driver/style dependent as to their efficacy so, YMMV.😁

Thanks, yes, it's really sensitive now but the traction out of Lesmo 1 and 2 makes a huge difference, this is where I made up the most. I run the springs at 2.50, all the way to the bottom and dampers are also very low, it seems to make it easier to be aggressive over the curbs and still have traction.

Actually not very snappy for some reason. This setting however is not working very well in races since braking performance is crap, probably because it bottoms out. I got passed fair and square from 7 position all the way down to 15. No crashes or anything, people just outbraked me.

I'm curious as to why you were having issues out of the lesmos?

They are coasting corners with just balancing the throttle. As long as you don't run ride the power shouldn't be in that scary torque curve

Not sure really, I couldn't maintain very high speed in those corners before, the car wouldn't turn very much unless I applied brake - now I can (just as you say) lift of (sharply), and the car is almost steering itself, an I can get back on the throttle faster.

Never touched the settings before, so trying to figure out what does what.

Edit
Thank you so much for sharing the setting - I will try them and see how they work for me!

I'm running the front a bit softer, too, but not all the way down. Comp/Rebound is currently set at 25/35.

I'm pretty sure my problem at Lesmos is how I'm attacking them (which is probably all wrong to begin with). When I hit it right in 'my' version I'm WOT at the apex with a no steer/all throttle exit. Basically finishing the turn using the back tires instead of the front. This coasting stuff @newmedia_dev mentioned sounds neat though. I'm anxious to find another .250 to break into the 48's. If it takes less throttle, so be it.😁

Pretty confident I'm doing it wrong. It feels so right when it all comes together and that's never a good sign. The best stuff is NEVER good for you.🤣

You have to be patient, lift and brake earlier but not as hard.

Coast the apex and then just put the power on.

If you are having power over steer issues don't run as wide (just be patient) and try to be easier on the throttle, just smoother applying it.

You can ignore the suspension stuff with settings but defiantly adjust the diff ones.

You can power earlier with them meaning more exit drive and less drama.

The settings come from Digit so not claiming that :)

Aside from the fact I don't give a sole criterion - as you'll note from the post you quoted @Talon16 quoting, what do you believe is missing?

You lose DR to everyone who beats you. You gain it from everyone you beat. How much you gain/lose depends on the difference in starting DR between you. That's it.
👍

I've been away from GT7 for a few weeks as I've been consumed in a work project that took every waking hour. I'm exhausted....

What did I miss?

I think my driving is going to suck for a bit so I may just tank my A rating back to B so I can do okay in a race again.

SOS (same old ....) Race A if fun this week, it's where I'm hanging out.

Monza, Monza, Monza, Oh why do I always allow you to seduce me with your storied history and your beautiful racing lines? Just to leave me a broke and bitter racer?

Well once again I've let Monza destroy my DR and SR. lol. But I will say this, If anyone thinks the racing is bad in the S lobbies, wait til you hit the all B lobbies. Good Grief.

Also, how does anyone reasonably expect me to give them room, when they are passing me in the chicanes or the Ascari curve, when I'm already going thru them with my hair on fire and stretching my talent to the max as it is? Dude if you think I can give you room through here, when it's all I can do to get through them using all the track, you're betting your race on the wrong guy.

My third race with vr, my first proper where I have put some qualifying/ familiarisation laps in, before entering matchmaking.
Starting P6 already put me under pressure to perform well and not to mess up anyone's race. DR B race, mostly clean. Intense five laps around monza with some position switches in P5-P2 that left me shaking from emotions after crossing finish line :). Finished 3s behind supra. Had to save and watch the replay afterwards to make sure I haven't done anything wrong to anyone.

Welcome back, so what was your project? You can PM me if that would make you feel more comfortable, we don't need to get offtopic here.

I did some more races at Monza last night. There has been a bug for the BMB races, I did three of them and everytime I get to Lap 4 the connection cuts off so my race is terminated. Weird stuff going on.

Why did PD add those 5 second penalties to BMB? The past three races that I've done there, on Lap 4 my internet connection cuts off. I guess that is a sign that I should not do the A races this week, and I'm not. All I'm focusing on this week is the B races, at Monza. I don't think I'm gonna mess with Autopolis either, 9 laps is lengthy. I'm not digging this week's races TBH, except Monza. At least the wall-collision penalties are off there. TM was way worse with that penalty system.

@sturk0167 thank you for pointing that out to me, I'm not on rock bottom, yay!!

Again thank you for posting the settings, the car feels so much better now and I managed only after 3 QT laps to get myself up to position 517 on the board, almost a tenth better than before. On those three laps I got an optimum which is 1:48.6. That however would require me to keep one full lap together, and that will for sure never happen.

The car behaves a lot better in Ascari, but I still need to figure out Lesmo, specifically 2 - I loose a lot of time there. Now I start to think it is the line that is off, not how the car is setup. Ah well, one day perhaps.

Anyone else having trouble entering lobbies this morning?

Trying to race at Monza but keep getting an error code - PE-2337F03.

Nothing wrong with my connection. And I can time trial at Monza.

Well my races in BMB won't connect right, I did 6 yesterday and everytime I got to Lap 4-5, I got the error message. I don't know what's going on, maybe that was a sign that I should not enter them as the wall penalties are very strict this week!

I wish I had an extra ethernet cable to hook in the ps4. We have a phone jack in the wall.
