I entered a qualifying session and tried 8 laps in each of my worn NSX - oil 'bad', engine and chassis 'normal'

First run was pretty slow, but had been using the Huracan a lot, so decided on a 2nd run later after getting back in to the NSX.

I tried to change gear at the same RPM point each time, and never used 6th gear anywhere.

My 2nd, in a freshly refurbished NSX. Obviously room for improvement here, with a poor 2nd sector split.

Although the times are pretty similar, i was able to do more laps at close to the best times in the hired NSX, whereas the worn car was less consistent. But! That could just be me improving and hooking better laps, as I'd done close on 40 laps in total by the time I'd used the hire car.
I have to say, I’ve never had a ‘normal’ anywhere else but on the oil, let alone bad 🤣

You guys are serious car killers 😁
 
Just going down the back straight at Atlanta and my car struggled to rev the last few bars.

Went and checked engine oil had worn to normal.

It got to max speed for that section but maybe it really is just some people are more sensitive to it, it may not matter much in the grand scheme of things but I could definitely notice a change in the reving characteristics.

But it is very front of mind at the moment as well.

Best thing to do is just to record a comparison, really. Then you can compare it side by side.

I will.

But ultimately it's not a massive issue, consistency is probably the biggest factor.

I will say that worn oil does have some affect but the reality looks like it's negligible to but all of the most hardcore/exceptional guys and even then they use the fresh cars.

It's just something I can feel/am sensitive to I think because I pay so much attention to the mechanics of extracting my lap times.

First race I just kept it on track for a 6th place finish.
Second race I got pushed off, had to fight from the back to finish 8th. Could be worse.
Third race I believe I was in a lobby with you @bone_tone . You started directly behind me. I was constantly collecting penalties and had to avoid several drivers that were taking each other out. Finished 4 seconds behind you in P8 I believe.
 
Daily Race C is likely my jam, so decided to focus on that.

Saw that I had saved a 1:24.790 QT lap from July 26's Daily in the NSX Gr.4, and loaded it up, but could only manage a 1:25.619. Shame there wasn't a mandatory stop to spice things up. No worries, time to debut my NSX's Singha v2.0 livery!

Race 1: Started P9. Started out well enough, immediately gained positions thanks to a Lap 1 Turn 1 torpedo, but I kept making minor mistakes that cumulated in a solo spin on Lap 12. Finished P10.



Race 2: Started P5. Capitalized on cars ahead fighting and making mistakes. Inherited P2 after a G70 understeered off Turn 1 on Lap 6. Struggled to keep up with the lead NSX. More than happy with a P2 podium.

Had to cut my race day short, but not a bad day out.

Yes, we were racing together - I recognise your PSN name!

That was one of the better races I was in - the last one I did was incredibly dirty, I got taken out so hard I finished last by a large margin.....
 
First races tonight for a while. Did one race C, I hate the pit entry at Atlanta as well but without tire wear this is one dull Race C. Will concentrate on B until i get fed up with pinball wizards.

Eiger reverse is the worst layout in the game and its the reason i stopped doing the weekly challenges. Its excruciatingly annoying. No ta.

Wonder if a lap of SSRX would work? Would have to take the same lines of course
Since the claim is that max power is unaffected, only engine response is affected, a full lap of SSRX would not be indicative. The whole lap is flat out.

The effect would be most pronounced on runs through the gears. A circuit with long straights and slow but easy corners would be the best test scenario.

I've had a "Normal" chassis condition on a credit grinding car, but only once.

In the race we shared, at least 3 people were taking it out on each other. Had to be careful. One of them also suddenly turned in to me when I attempted an overtake, but he came out worse than I did. My other 2 races were much more respectful luckily.

Yes, there was a bit of that going on. I'm not sure whether it was the race we were in, but a fellow Brit pit sideswiped me into the wall halfway down the back straight. I lost two places as a result, but he must have come out worse, as he was then three places behind me!
 
Little by little, I'm getting there. Today I'll may be in the mix with some of you guys, hopefully. Yesterday was an 1:26.385 that keeps me between 1st and 4th at the start. Surprisingly I found only one real A-hole (CIT). I mean, in all nyt, I was kicked out just few times, only one intentionally. Out of my (still many) mistakes, I've got few podiums, one of wich chasing a guy 1/2 sec faster (QT). It was like 3 laps puttung pressure, calmly waiting to push on 4th lap and try a move on 5th, wich I couldn't eventually make without ruining both our races. So I stepped back and brought home the race.
I shared that replay, cause the fairness at 1st lap (and in general) makes it look so much like an actual race. The "cameras position's choise" is really spot on at Deep Forest imho.
