I've been having race-start glitches on B - P8 and back getting stuck before the last chicane, while the rest of the grid gets a 20 second head start:confused: If I'd qualified in the top half I wouldn't complain, but I was in P14  And only 4 laps??!!

I'll probably stick with C this week and have a dabble in Race A occasionally

Oh that is annoying as my piloting skills are pretty rusty for the GR2 stuff so I've just been focusing on QT for B with the aim of grinding out a few results to get back in to A again. Doh!

May have to switch tact and focus on C!

Managed two wins so far on the Nurb, my first two on this track as well, the Mazda isn't a bad wagon. Thought I was a bit harsh with the Lexus at the end but the replay made it look fairly clean, what'd you reckon?

Amazing ending! Wow that was close, you held. Good line and fair play to him for not diving in somewhere 😀

I was so far off I didn't even bother, lol. No matter what I did I was just in the freakin' way.🤣

Tried running more laps and baked-in some tips and guidance from here but made zero progress. Actually, zero would've been preferred. Once the frustration set-in the laps were just getting longer and longer. Called it and didn't look back.👍

Hoping this is a better week...
Well, I have to say, the search for pace was not straight-forward. I found that the input my PS5 was using was not as free of delay as I had first believed, and everything was less optimized compared to my PS4. I turned off all the TV effects (all image improvement features) that could cause a delay between the PS5 output and what I was seeing on screen. I went so far as to turn off the HDR (more so because I didn't like the image quality, which I found to be too dark).

Once everything was optimized for frame rate, as I have it with my PS4, I managed to get my times down. Still, there is some differences in the physics. it might not make a big difference over a lap, it does over the course of a race. I can feel it when I play.

Hopefully the next update makes the two versions more equal.

Love it...clean race with a great ending, will watch again! Nice drivin'.👍

The Mazda is a lot of fun to drive. I think we had the tuned road cars at RA (could be wrong) and that thing dominated there. Haven't tried it at the Nurburgring yet, might have to fix that.

EDIT
@Voodoovaj had no idea there was such a disparity between the two platforms. Keeping in line with my own age, my PlayStation is an antique. Hoping to move to a PS5 Pro in the new year so thanks for sharing...well, as long as I don't get Jelly of the Month'd this year.😁

First race of the day, and I'll be honest here my QT put me on pole and P2 had a QT time 1.2s slower than mine.

Your QT would have you top half of the grid on B I'm sure 👍 I'm not great around Trial Mountain so never do well there - I like the track, but never gain any ground in races.

Edit!! @newmedia_dev I knew you'd be top half of the grid! :)

Edit 2!!
I did a couple more C races and while they weren't bad (2nd and 3rd) I was a long way off the leaders. I then noticed during the next race I wasn't quite getting 100% throttle - had to push hard on the pedal to get it. Went to look at the calibration, and sure enough I was only getting 98% throttle at normal pressure - weird!
Re-calibrated and won the next race (thanks to the leader crashing though) but I was now entering 130R at 164mph, where it had been 160mph previously.

There is a yin and a yang to all this though....

I'm in heavily mixed lobbies now with aliens and try hards....

In 2 days time this while all stabilise but there is a reason god damn it Glen that you don't race on Mondays, just QT!

Race B is one of those weird ones, where the people who line up in front of me are often not very good at racing me.
Q time heroes, who have lousy decision making when another car fills up their rear-view mirror.
Absolutely, and on the flip side I qualify a lot better than a lot of people and have a full S rating and get pummelled in to a wall by 2 slow QT guys with B SR

It's Monday though and TM brings out the sweaty ones early

Not sure if I'll participate in this week's dailies beyond putting down some QTs.

Race A: NSX Type R - 7:28.193 Two massive accidents worth at least 20 seconds.

Race B: NSX Gr.3 - 1:53.655 First half is giving me fits

Race C: NSX Concept-GT - 1:51.910 Somehow more grip than I expect and less grip than I need 😅

My win i posted earlier was same with the QT that put me on pole and then I just ran away....still somewhat surprised that I got a clean race! I have a habit of sliding off a bit that would invalidate the CRB...

1.50.6 in the 911 on the Mountain. Again the BB dance has started, -5 to begin with, now at 0, but trying to get +2 to work. +5 is instant death. Will see if I can get to +3 before the week is over. I have an optimum at 50.3, but if I can get the +5 to work, 49.x should not be impossible.

Edit - on the alt account

My SR took an absolute pounding at the SSRX GTWS race on the weekend because apparently bump drafting isn't a thing. I dropped from full S to low A in just one race!

Soo off to daily race A and a couple of recovery races at Fuji to find myself even further down to mid B-SR. Yikes!

Now we have my beloved Nurburgring in daily A, no DR at stake. Hope this week goes well.

I did 2 races with no qualy around 5 am this morning going with a Q11 to P5 and a Q8 to P2. So far so good and my SR is back to low A, still work to do.

I just laid down a qualy time of 7:03:2xx in the LFA and we'll see what Monday evening prime time brings.

Edit - 5:40 pm race, pole by 6 seconds over 7 qualifiers. Won by 4 seconds. SR-mid A.

Edit 2 - 6 pm race Q2 to P1 because the guy ahead served a half second penalty. I'll take it. SR is now almost full A.

I only have a grand total of 200 sport mode races, but this week is the first time I experience this 'meh' feeling often expressed in this thread about track and car combo's that keep coming back. Generally I like the thrill of DR being at stake so I skip race A mostly. The other two races we have seen before. Maybe if my QT is quite okay I will give race B a go. Else I will wait what next week's got in store.

Maybe it’s just what the course was for last week’s Race B, but I think I’ll just stick to improving my DR through various championship rounds instead of daily races. Even if I was able to get into DR A, I really prefer the wider availability of entry times for the championship rounds as well.

On that note, I’m very much looking forward to trying Race A this week!

Oh man, I feel bad for those stuck with the PS5 version. Especially this week with the Nurb Race A. ON PS5, you can't even breath on the curbing or the car ends up bounding like and east LA Impala

That's weird. I pound those curbs like it's my job and it feels no different than it has in years at this track.

When you get hit off track early on by the first place car and then after a failed block by said car on the straight you then punt them off in a fit of red mist only to watch the replay and find the first hit might have been an accident 😕

I've found it depends on the car/kerb. On the PS4 it seems kerbs are WAY more active than they used to be. It was noticeable when they changed the physics a couple releases ago but it wasn't invasive. Not the case now.

IMHO, it's evolved into a combo of improved/updated kerb physics slamming into whatever weird bouncy-bug they got going on with the suspension settings. Tolerable in road cars but gets progressively worse as you go up the car classes, with Gr.1 and 2 being the pinnacle of 'wtf'-y behavior. Not sure where the SF's fall in this (don't drive those much) so could be wrong on the 'pinnacle' bit.😁

That's just what I've noticed/experienced of late.👍
