Apparently race B is my jive or something. Picked up another win. Normally I find even Gr 3 cars almost too speedy. But the HSR, as the name suggests, is very suitable for these speeds.

I got a 2 seconds (!!) penalty for bumpdrafting someone in race B btw. I was faster on the exit of turn 2 but got nowhere to go, so decided to bump. Bad idea apparently. This threw away at least a P2 and maybe even another win. Still finished 3rd, a podium is nice enough.
Probably hit them hard enough to cause damage, which sucks when it's your only option...well, I suppose you could lift off the throttle and all, but that realization always seems to hit me AFTER the 'action window' has closed.🤣

So is the GTE-spec Ford GT still the go-to for Race C? I haven't had a chance to try qualifying nor example the leaderboards yet, so I'm wondering if there are any other Gr.3 machines that would be especially splendid for this layout.
There are certainly more Ford GTs than anything else, but other cars do seem to be viable - I finished 4th in my first race today, in the Genesis. Of the top three finishers, only P2 was the Ford (sorry, can't remember what the others were!).

I then went on to finish 3rd, and finally 2nd - again in the Genesis, and without bump drafting!

The Genesis can't keep up with the Ford down the Mulsanne Straight, but seems to be faster around the rest of the track. Breaking the tow before the Mulsanne Straight is the key to staying in front of the massed Fords!

My 56.071 qualifying lap for Race B. Probably as good as I'll get it without skipping races to tryhard some more.

To all those struggling with the final turn: Shifting up at the entry of the final turn is the key to taking it flat out. No need for manual micro lift then.

Great lap! I envy your T2 and middle sector. Smooth as butter.

I'm at a very high 56 atm. Don't think I can shave many tenths off it but maybe your T2 can be an inspiration.

Thanks! I also have to add a bit of front downforce and max out the diff accel settings to be able to take the final turn flat. I was still lifting even after the upshift before I made those changes.

Mostly Ford but you can see Vipers, M6, Genesis and Peugeot VGT. Even some Porsche, if they can get slipstream, they will follow and put lots of pressure on the other part of the track.

I tried the Viper, better than Ford out of corner and just a bit slower on top end with and without slipstream.

So DR reset still is a thing. Race C is a disaster for SR. Even though I barely never get penalty for bumbing other cars, the bumb drafting and too many .5 track limit penalties took my SR from A or S (i dont recall) to mid C. This looks to have reset my secondery account DR from A to low B as soon as I reached the halfway of SR C. These kind of races in slot C are idiotic if they want clean racing. I did do a test if i could gain sr in race c. Completely clean race without any bumbs or penalties other than being bumb drafted one lap on Mulsanne, and I got neutral SR. That one straight being bumb drafted voided the other 4.5 laps of clean racing. That is NUTS.

Also Im a bit surpriced of how dirty mess many of DR A lobbies are at the beginning of race C. Given the nature of the race it seems a bit dumb people are fighting for positions and crashing each other out of the race before Mulsanne, where everyone would anyways come together due to drafting. Also its baffling how many of players seem to be unable to co-operate in any way and instead are stuck at #10-15 as a result. Pride is a funny thing..

I had a bizarre race C this evening and I'll try and explain what happened. I was P3 on the grid on the lobby screen. I was in P4 when the race started and had the Blue Flag warning on screen. On top of that, when the countdown ended, P1 started the race between turn 1 and 2. P2 started where the pit exit stripe ends on track, and I was at the end of the seating on pit lane. So there was a 5 second or so gap between each car. And then the same gap for the rest of the field.

Checking the replay, the P10 driver was shown in P1, then fell to P10 where they belonged. I have never seen that before to my knowledge. Like I said, a bizarre start. The top 3 ran the race by ourselves and had basically no interaction with each other until the final lap. P1 spun, and I was able to do some bump drawing down the Mulsanne Straight. I can't make a pass and just settle for P3 and decide not to go again.

I'm pretty happy with Race C! Finally got C/S, now I get to see how long it lasts!

Daily Race B on HSR

Nissan R92CP
i have a 56:489 already but i'll try to find the vain to follow the top times ghost.
For the moment here is my setup

5 Not sure about this one, need to test more.

650 1000
BB -5
You need to soften your natural frequency to the minimum at both ends. The softer suspension will allow the downforce to push the car closer to the ground and reduce drag. It's worth a lot of speed. Also, how are you running that much front downforce without the car trying to kill you at the first and final turns???

I love race C, I love racing it in the Porsche 🥰

It's a little down on straightline speed compared to the Ford's but give it a sniff of slipstream and it can hang in there just long enough to do the business!

Kinda surprised you're driving the Porsche............... said NO ONE ON GTP EVER!

PS - In your video, the bottom half of the video... how did you get that angle? Doesn't look like a normal replay angle. I'm assuming the music replay option?

Your video are always a delight!

Also interested to know how you got this helicopter cam for so long. I took many photos around the track yesterday and this cam never showed up.

I think that bump draft affects SR only if you do it at full throttle.
Yesterday I did 4 races starting always in the middle of the pack (between P6 and P10) and I tried something.

If you barely lift the throttle before each bump (just a little, lets say 10%) I reckon you dont get punished with SR drops.
In the 4 races that I did last night, I was bump drafting with the pack the whole races and just in one of them I had negative SR and it was just a tiny thing.

I saw that some drivers who were in the same pack as me with the bump drafting train had some significant loss of SR while I had nothing, so I think I can confirm that theory.

I love race C, I love racing it in the Porsche 🥰
This race is amazing as long as you dont get killed on the first lap and get lonely at the back without slip.
In those cases, the race turns into a boring ride through the countryside

Edit: grammar

I went off the Porsche when they changed the setup in the July update but it feels lovely again now.

@Mc_Yavel It is a music replay, there is a trick to them where if you turn off songs it will lock to the same angle so you can get these long continuous shots, this is the guide I used (@Spider-Racer sent me the link a long time ago).

That straight gets lonely fast when you're tackling it alone, I watched the gap grow by 4 seconds in one race 😭

Well, I am out for the week.

Three races at LeMans. 1 finish. 3 first lap incidents. One bump and spin at Indianapolis caused me to take out a handful of cars. The bump drafting pushed me into the rear of others.

Three races to go from A+ S to A B. I have a lot of work ahead of me IF we ever get away from these arcade races 😔
Well, I hate being a quitter and I am a firm believer in the "get good" mantra, so rather than give up, I put my head down, worked on my lap time, and went at it again. It will be a chore, but I will be better off for it (at least in terms of GT )

This is a full Race C and I think it's worth watching. @Mc_Yavel was in there as well. Spoiler: I did not win, but damn, that was one of those races that give us the motivation to keep playing!!
