Dropped my NSX Gr.B's Race A QT pad lap down to a 1:18.203.

Improved my NSX Gr.3's Race C QT slightly, with a 3:41.419, and hopped into some races with a full S/SR bar to see what could possibly go wrong.

Race 1: Started P7. Fell back to P15 on Lap 1, after I tagged someone who braked super early for Indianapolis. When I had a bump buddy, the NSX Gr.3 was decent pushing the draft, but not leading it. Was able to make up some ground on people collecting penalties. Finished P9. Gained DR, SR stayed... maxed?

Race 2: Started P5. Was doing OK, until the final lap, when I was pushed into a spin at the Dunlop Chicane. Limped home to a P13. DR and SR took a bit of a hit.

Race 3: Started P4. Fell back a bit after slide-spinning into Mulsanne Corner on Lap 2, but was in the hunt for a podium on the final lap, when most of the cars directly in front of me fell victim to penalties and accidents. I had to kinda, um... improvise* after I mucked up the final chicane. Finished P4. DR went up a touch, SR went down a chunk.

*When life hands you lemons, chuck the lemons in reverse and floor it:

Race 4: Started P5. Got pushed into a spin at the Dunlop Chicane on Lap 1, falling down to P16 (last). Found myself solo for long stretches. Not sure how I recovered to finish P9. DR went down, SR went... up?

Race 5: Started P5. On Lap 2, I fell prey to an idiot that ruined the races of everyone around them. Managed to finish P9. DR took a hit. SR got massacred to a low S.

Screw it... one more! 😅

Race 6: Started P6. Collected a 2.0 second penalty at Arnage bonking the car in front of me. Finished P8. DR took another slight hit. SR dropped down to a... B. From a low S. To a B. What the hell. No A?!

Five out of six races in the Top 10 is almost enough to call today a win, but that massive SR hit, mixed in with all the stupid is just dumb. 😤

In to the 55.7's now (by .001). Still another couple of tenths to improve by though - frustratingly close on several occasions but just need to make one tiny error before the tunnel and I watch the time slip away.

I'm still using Tidgney's settings but gone to 535 on the front aero.

I've actually had some really good races, changing positions several times due all touching barriers at some point. I do think this combo would have been more popular as an A race slot.

Third day at HSR B, I may have found my "consistency's settings". It's basically Tidgney's set up, but with minimum extension instead. With his actual one my wheel (g923) was simply trying to kill me. My QT stands at a 56.475 (ideal 56.2), so I now can concentrate on trying to shave some 1/2 sec. more from that. Did one race today starting 3rd, passing the second before first braking, the polman and I both had a "moment" approaching the banking. I unfortunately clipped his side, being on the inside, enough to make him touch the barrier a lil losing momentum. Meanwhile the 3rd was coming back at us, giving me the push to regain that sufficient speed to get to the esses 1st. Behind me, a very optimistic driver did an attempt round the inside that made a mess. From that moment on, I owned the lead, cruising to the finish line 0.9 sec per lap faster than my followers. The 1st win on the R92 was anyway sweet. It's a mesmerising car, especially round last corner.

I am finally starting to figure-out that last turn...and it is kinda mesmerizing in the R92. Almost like you have tunnel vision until you make it out the other side, and still in one piece.

Down to a 57.2xx for now with lots-o-room to grow. What finally clicked for me was centering the kerb on entry to the final turn. Pretty sure that's where the magic happens. It lightens it up just enough, and just long enough, to rotate the car and drop you into the compression zone around the turn...pretty sure your eyes would shoot out your nostrils IRL.🤣

Race C I have no idea where my pace is. I tried the Ford...then I parked the Ford. Can't beat what I can do in the 911 so I'm obviously doing it wrong. At a 1:42.xxx and might be able to hit high 40's, just not trying to Sunday drive it at the back, lol.

Have fun out there!

I think they've got the SR +/- parameters too tight for race C. Also keep in mind, if you're the highest LEVEL player in the lobby, you have the most to lose. QT does nothing to impact that. I have won races and lost DR, watched it happen to others as well. While rare, it CAN happen. Frustrating as hell, too.

Also, as @Gurzu mentioned, if you drop two SR levels, your DR gets reset a level down. In GTSport, I once lost over 11,000 DR points in two races. It was Monza. I was not E.

Race B was bound to be a bloodbath regardless of who's in the room. Too much speed differential from one car/set-up to the other. It's almost like a mixed class race with Gr.1 and Gr.4 sharing the track. Very, VERY easy to get it wrong out there.

Has anyone noticed that the lag glitch is back in the dailies? I was in race C earlier and as I was running down Mulsanne, I was dropped two positions in a shower of sparks and immediately appearing cars!

I've had a few annoying disconnects.. this one particularly, while chasing 3rd last week. Wonder if it affects DR and SR?

But also had game freezes in the menus occasionally, which have needed a restart to fix

Yes, Happy Thanksgiving to everyone that posts on this thread and to the whole GTplanet community. Enjoy your day and racing with fellow drivers and scoring wins, while also eating turkey and lots of other foods with your families. This is always a special day, for racing and eating together. I am going to order my ps4 over the weekend, I got the extra funds from our in-home assistance from Social Services. So hopefully it will be delivered to my home next Tuesday or Wednesday. Take care folks.

Best Buy still sells them on their website. A black TB one for $299.99 and that's not including the warranty and tax. So we're looking at $400-$450 total and also the gt7 game. It's gotta be done though because I've been bored the past month. If they don't have any new ones I'll have to buy a cheap ps5.

Oh wow, have to look into getting one as a spare...

Seen the odd car glitching, but I think that was down to their poor internet connection, but I did have two Race Cs today where cars got stuck on the grid, leaving the rest of us stuck behind them!

I've been running Race C every day - not had the SR drop problem like others, probably because I've avoided bump drafting, stayed at S all week. I do have a problem with my DR - I was bottom end of B, about to drop into C, at the beginning of the week, now hovering just below A 😯. I haven't been anywhere near A in GT7 so far.....

Let me guess... Just right after you've passed the first chicane?

what an odd week, it's like they deliberately want to lower player numbers and player ranking.

B is a nightmare for DR and SR
C is a nightmare for SR
A is literally a random contact race but SR is affected

You have to feel this was on the surface random but dig deeper and it has a clear purpose. Drag the stats pool down a bit.

Race C is fine for SR as long as you avoid bump drafting (which everybody seems to have learnt as the week goes on - some still haven't twigged there's a compulsory pitstop though 😂).

I've seen some awful stuff going on in Race A, but have yet to see anybody get an SR down - I don't know what you have to do to get one. In fact, every Race A I've done has given me a clean race bonus.

I posted this earlier in that contact speed is the factor for SR mostly in C

B is a twitch fest and it's a difficult race pace vs lines vs tuning differentials

A is definitely a contact fest when everyone is the same pace.

So while our individual experiences have varied they theme of the races is very much clear to my mind at least.

Anecdotally I've seen some different things to you and in addition to that this thread is fairly light on posts this week, which tells me the most about this week in that people just aren't drawn to them for various reasons, I'd imagine that it's because C can be a lonely place especially without bump drafting at the back (SR friendly or not) and B can be a frustrating oscillation fest for wheel users and a penalty fest.

I don't do rally personally so can't comment on the race but in TT and offline they can be tricky with hard AI and impossible to go fast side by side

I lost SR in one race C but I think that was due to accidentally bumping a car at the entrance to Indianapolis on one lap (for which I got a penalty) and then spinning out and hitting the wall exiting Arnage on a later lap. I finished P2 due to P1 not pitting, which moved me up from P3. I gained DR but lost a lot of SR. Happily I got it all back in the next race with a P1 finish where I started pole and continually grew the gap between me and P2 until I finished ahead by 14 seconds and never came near another car after Tertre Rouge. Very boring to watch the replay but tense and exciting actually driving it!

Today I tried my best to recover SR (B at the moment) and I really think it's not only the bumpdrafting causing SR loss. I think PD tweak the SR algorithm.

First race, I stayed away of bumpdraft, touch one car in lap 1 T2 and also got 0.5 track limit pen. I got a red SR but hardly noticeable on the graph.

Of the 3 races I did without bumpdrafting, I got 2 Clean Race blue SR and it was also not noticeable on the graph. In GTS (not sure about GT7), one Race C can get you halfway trough a SR ranking.

Now, did PD do this only for this race C to push people into racing more like real world standard or is it a new revemp SR calculation?

The amount of races i skip these days because of pd ffb issues is silly.

That the oscillation began, and then they started running gr1/2 regularly, makes it feel as if I’m being trolled.

Its worth wondering if ian bell’s game, or ac evo, will have to arrive before being able to appreciate the abilities of the dd+.
