Hi guys. My back is still killing me. Couldn't race for the third consecutive week since I'm at 98% DR B. It's like seeing the "end of the tunnel" in a nightmare where you run toward it without being able to reach it. It's sooo frustrating. It's like: "Don't worry, next week you'll get there... Maybe". I'm still below the mark of 380 races in my four months journey in Daylies, but my impatience is now starting to haunt me.

Yeah, I've not been able to get close to the front in B or C - I enjoy driving both of them but just can't the qualifying time right, In race pace I'm fairly close, but on B with 4 laps there's not much chance to make up places.

edit/
I can't see me having much success next week either - all three are a bit 'byock'.

This technique doesn't help with improving my Sector 1 split

I did that in the Genesis and set my fastest QT as a result!

Ah so it's pick 'an mix from the pre published events

A: SSRX - tuned cars
B: Laguna Seca - Gr3 RM
C: Catalunya - Gr4 RM - should have guessed this with it being a TT course at the moment.

In VR and Gr3 I'm not sure how Laguna is gonna work for me, it's tricky to hit the brake markers and exit markers in my first few lap. Also the track feels super narrow in VR

its early so my QT is ...😋 need to get bit higher but not sure if iam going to race it 😝

Just had a fantastic race at race C.

Started pole, avoided some clown on the first corner. Quickly ended up 2nd and had a pretty much entire race battle with the guy in 3rd.

He nudged me a bit wide, so he let me go at the corner exit.

I nudged him slightly at the last corner, getting him a penalty, so I stayed behind him until his penalty was served.

We must have swapped positions 6 or 7 times cleanly, and eventually my tyres gave up and he pulled away. I got overtaken on the line so ended up 4th.

Really loved it though. Again, race pace doesn't stand up to my Qualy pace but it's all good, it's Christmas week so lots of time to work on it 🤗

I do want to try changing tyres, as I really lost a lot of time in the last few laps trying to hang on at T3, 4 and the final corner (hence being overtaken on the line), and receiving a 0.5s penalty as well for track limits at the last corner. I reckon a tyre change would have negated all of that and then some. Front left was basically dead, the other 3 were more than fine. I like it when it throws up a bit of strategic balance

My consistency in failing at Dragon trail last week means my DR went down half a bar, and my SR 1.5 bar (to mid A). In the beginning of the week I had a rather okay-ish QT for a DR B driver. Just couldn't manage to go quicker during the week. On top of that I crashed at least once every race at the CoD. Sometimes twice. Maybe it's good that there's a new week now ;)

Never really took the trouble to learn the Barcelona track. Maybe this week is the time to do it, as I like the close racing of gr. 4.

Happy it’s Laguna gr3 this week as I’ll happily miss that one whilst I am away this week.

Managed to finally get back to BS with all the racing last week, thoroughly enjoyed DT

Merry Christmas all, have a great and relaxing time with your family & friends and let’s do it all again next year 😁

Point to me where it says there’s a mandatory tyre change.
Where it says minimum number of pit stops 👍

Edit

(I guess that doesn’t mean mandatory tyre change 🤣 )

Had a great week at DTS (been one of my fave tracks since GTS days, despite the death chicane).

Got a QT 2 seconds off the fastest time, which is really quick for me. This put me at the sharp end of the B/S grids so got a few wins and lots of good finishes. Almost got to A DR!

More importantly, the racing was really clean for the most part.

Hope everyone has a great holiday with some good racing!

Wow was Dragon a love/hate thing last week. Simply cannot, for the life of me, hit the C.o.D. successfully four times in a row. Can't. Not in my talent sphere. Though I must add that, if chicanes are generally installed to slow people down, this one is clearly broken.🤣

Not excited about this week but, when the best I have to show for last week is a P7, MAYBE it will get better??

I don't understand how I am so slow at SSRX... the track is not exactly difficult and yet after 4 laps of QT I find myself 1.3 seconds slower than the top time 😕 where are they getting these times from!!!

You are doing at least 2 laps consecutively or turning round for a few miles to get a run up speed?

You have to be at the limiter crossing the line, where you start in QT won't let you get to max speed and those few MPH make the difference, and keeping as smooth as possible and on the tightest line.

For some reason I thought it was Deep Forest and Tokyo on B and C this week..

I'm very pleased it isn't!

Love a bit of Gr3 on mediums round Laguna - and the no-stoopid-chicane version of Catalunya is bearable, even if it's just a Huracan race (please PD, tinkle with Gr4's BoP a bit!!)

That was the order they have been posted in or harvested in, but I think it's more laid out in a different way as to which races were which week. Hence no one getting it right fully 🤣

4 laps consecutively, my margin was +/- 0.200 I just cannot figure out how they find so much time

Because they are super super smooth, 1mph difference magnifies hugely as does line. Genuinely you aren't looking and the detail on these laps....it's bloody boring but it's a race (ignoring the finish) is all about optimising the least friction.

That all said it's also also a race where QT doesn't matter in the slightest and being at the back is the best place to be.

I won my GTWS race going from the back in this race 1 and done on that one.
