Have you watched the ghost laps? They gain an extra MPH just on the turning. It's mental
Yes, it does help to be super smooth in the turns, but that's not the whole story.
Twice, I've ended the week at SSRX being the #1 qualifier in the world.
This morning, I got to #1 again, but it didn't last too long.
I'm only saying that to add a bit of credibility to my advice.

There are times when you're given a car that just has more power. I think temperature has a little bit to do with it.
It's not all about the temp, but it does seem to make some difference. I can confidently say that if the gauge on your dashboard says 17C, you're wasting your time. You have no chance. Generally 15C, or less, is what you'll see from the top qualifiers.

When I got to the #1 spot, this morning, it was 6 or 7 laps into the run. I believe the temp was about 14C.
Sometimes, as was the case for me, the car will just speed up for no good reason. I was at 413 kph entering the tunnel, while in the earlier laps, I could only get to 411 kph.

In summary, you need to have the good fortune of being granted a bit of extra power, while being in the right temp range, and holding a very steady line as high as possible in the turns.

Debated not setting a QT for Race A. Decided to do it anyway. Accidentally queued up a race. 😤

Race A: NSX Type R '02 - 4:28.165

Race 1: Started P2. Got shoved into the wall in the middle of the first corners, because of course I did. Managed to make up some ground on the back straight and get back into the thick of it. Had full nitrous and prepared to make a dash to the finish line. Got spun out in the middle of the final corners, because of course I did. Finished P9 (last after DNFs).

Race B: NSX Gr.3 - 1:23.837 What's apexes, precious? What's apexes? 😑

Race C: NSX Gr.4 - 1:49.649 Doesn't matter the car or configuration or amount of laps... something about me and this track just don't gel.

Very true, there was a TM event 1 year ago that to set a competitive time meant waiting for it to become night. Was about a 20 min wait.

The conditions should "should" be equal in QT now for all races but they use custom parameters which are locked.

I'll goo bore out a couple of laps in a min and see if I feel what you feel with it.

As Tazzy said 1+ seconds shouldn't be a thing here 1/100s1/1000s should

Agree, I am being super smooth with my inputs, I just don't get how I can be so far off

For the past two weeks I've concentrated on Race A, some really good races at Watkins Glen then Tsukuba. Really good fun.

The meme race isn't my thing so got out of my comfort zone and tried Laguna Seca this evening.

Historically I struggle round here in Gr3 or Gr4, I enjoyed it when it was road cars that time though.

My initial QT puts me in P.11 before the last turn. The rest of the race is redundant after that shocking placement. Went back and improved so started in the top ten. Making places by people's lunacy is a false sense of achievement but round here its a given. People's race awareness is bizarre in high B DR lobbies and the domino effect is funny until your in the middle of it.

I can see it getting really messy as the week goes on.

Merry Xmas to everyone and dont race with holiday indegistion...

Call me crazy, but when 99 of the top 100 cars in the Gr.4 race are the same model, they might have screwed up the BoP.
I'm not in favor of nerfing the Huracan, but rather, adding some power to the rear-wheel drive cars.
Otherwise, the product is just boring. :indiff:
