My wife is out of town so I had a 710 mile race day today, all at Le Mans. Needless to say, I saw some strange things.

Between lap 2 & 3, three of the top 4 race leaders pitted… there is no required pit in race C 🤷🏼

I had a guy bump drafting me the entire way down the Mulsanne Straight and then continue 2 more times on the way up to Indianapolis. Every time he bumped me, I moved ahead and he moved back.
The only real problem I had was that I was expecting him to punt me at Indianapolis but he never did 🤷🏼

It looks like you can blow through both chicanes without a penalty which, apparently, people were already aware of 🤷🏻‍♂️

I’m amazed at the vast quantity of drivers that think they can maintain qualifying speed through turn 1, lap 1 of virtually every race 🤷🏼

The funny one has been the gravel at the Mulsanne curve after the very long straight, I’ve seen some drivers try and take that corner at 200 mph 😵‍💫

All in a days work I guess.

Disappointing night if I'm honest.

A p2, p8 and pit finish and a quit.

The p2 and p8 all fine I pushed too hard and lost it in the second one that is racing.

But and I'll be honest I hate the trolls (pink car dude wears his heart in his sleeve and is fast so you can race him, he usually wins but that's ok)

It's the person in 9th that some how wanted to pummel me in to submission.

I get a bit of contact, I get (don't agree with) a bit more contact passing someone running wide who doesn't like it. I get it.

What I have zero time for is being constantly trying to pitt me down the straight and when that doesn't work just rear ebd me off. I'll sit in the pits rather than race that crap.

I want to ask you guys, have I offended anyone or done something wrong? I'd like to think I've heard my head high, been accountable when needed and am just a nice racer who's working on my craft.

I feel utterly deflated as I've never had that sort of behaviour in any of my accounts the odd feisty one or KV but he's mellowed for now with me.

Maybe I'm just not the racer I want to/think I am :(

Might step away from gaming for a while.

Edit: VR makes this all a bit more personal
I don't think I've raced you yet, but your posts ( even though I don't agree with some) are well written and to the point. Ive not seen many posts on GT planet that are offensive to somebody. As for racing, my experience is probably 50/50 in good and bad races. You just have to think to yourself " Why does this game matter so much to them?" Then have a chuckle and enjoy life.

I had a bad run here, worst than my first ever qualifying lap. You'll see my gearing was off quite a bit in some areas of the track. The blind corner always throws me off in a bad position to where I'll lose time. I do not like the esses at T2-T5, I always get nervous and lose my rhythm on the track and go into the grass or I cut the curb and get a penalty. The Roadster is fun, enjoyable and neat to drive around though so I can't complain about that.

The part near the infield bridge where the Firefox Factory logo is can be a pain too, the chicane there, most of you probably know what I'm talking about, similar to the first Monza chicane.

I've just come off the back of a fantastic race at RA, starting in 3rd behind two drivers with quali times I can only dream of.

We managed to drop 4th quite quickly, and due to some considerate and quick driving, we were popping along nose-to-tail (as is customary), with 2nd place Croatian bouncing between the two of us in the Miata sandwich. Come lap number 2, and my decision to bump draft the guy along the back straight turned out to be a genius play.

Lap 3, and an irresistible opportunity comes up when I get a better exit out of Turn 5 (? - that key left hander after the esses, anyway). We are three wide coming into Turn 6 and I have the inside. Glancing behind I see the Greek pole sitter has copped himself a 1 sec penalty, so it's now two horse race! I managed to keep the lead, with the chasing Croat not able to consistently hit his marks, and getting himself a penalty in the process.

An absolute vindication of waiting for the race to come to you, and focusing on consistency rather than beating the guy in front. That makes it 4 wins out of 5 here since I decided to set a quali lap (my SR is fixed now :) )

Is the tires cold in the start of the A race on Road Atlanta? Feels like it ;)

Cold tyres and fuel load, along with the unfamiliarity of starting closer to the first corner has caught me out a few times!

Tale of 2 different nights. Instead of carnage there was a pack mishap in the first lap and then one of the other drivers involved paired up with me and we bump drafted our way back to the top 5. Funny thing was we kept making mistakes that would cause the other car to hit us but not cause penalties or wrecks. But we were both so keen on helping the other it bevame a joke at the corvette curves on the final lap as we both tried to lift to let the other one take the spot at the same time so ended up hurting us both and slowing us down.

Next 2 races involved getting clear at the start and running some fairly clean races. One I finished p3 as just got into no man's land after a penalty and lapped it out. The other I got a penalty and dropped back after lap 2 when a very aggressive driver and a friendly fast one took off ahead. The aggressive driver made a bad mistake and wrecked and then the other guy looked like he got caighout with the same brake problem I had only his was at Mulsanne. Suddenly I have the lead on lap 5 and cruise to a very undeserved but welcome win. Good night to be on

Hallo.
I couldn't keep up, you guys wrote a lot in the last weeks and that's great. A lot of info/set ups i could use.thank you all.
Because i was days /forum pages behind with reading, i even had to erase, what i wrote about the g70 gr. 4 set up @ brands hatch, one of the top drivers posted it. The front to the max and tbe rear all to min. I remembered it vice versa and was in comparison a lot faster in my, the wrong, set up.

@Chris30 , next time suzuka, (so probably next week 🙄 i wouldn't be surprised), let's race together, as in, same room one controller. I'm the worst Suzuka and Fuji driver, but one of the best in the suzuka chicane, since my first GT. Hand me over the controller on the straight, before the full throttle left and chicane and we'll be chasing MAXPOWER and Barney_da_Dog in suzuka soon. 😉

I am so off topic, because I had an idea. I was driving quali laps at GVH (love it, because i have many places i can overtake, or give way without a risk.), i was in the Supra and the Supra gr. 4 came into my mind, with its 335kw (?) which could be enough for gr. 3. And then, i thought - A daily C race, devided by classes. All DR S/A/B drivers can choose a gr. 4 car and all C/D|E drivers a gt3 car.
- Nürburgring (23 Kilometers track) many laps
-weather conditions on
-all tyres free to choose

Maybe just a brain fart, I'm ready to get roasted 🫠

---the real driving simulator, i did some testing at GVH.
This magical Break balance control. 🤣 In gr4 I sometimes can do +5 or - 5 and have the same time. But in gr. 3. - how come, that my car can't reach the same top speed in - 5, as it does in +5. My test track was just the starting point at the quali till the breaking area uphill. I am not using any breaks there, it is harder to get a good line through the tunnel and at start/ finish i was always
2- 6km/h slower when - 5 (power to the front) was applied. (supra isn't effected, it's too fast, it depends on the the car. But still,, i feel a different way without using the breaks.)
I would be happy if proven to be a witch or just an idiot 🤪 maybe someone else can try it. It could also be, that my mind is playing tricks 🤷
I saw your friends lists some posted, mine is always full of names, so i really just checked 5 minutes ago.... I have 227 gran turismo friends! And 337 followers. I only play Gran turismo.
..... And @Barney_da_Dog , you are still always top 4 in that list🐕👍

Sorry, I just saw, i replied to Chris' post, but changed the original text, because of former stated reasons

for race C:

If you hold the wheel(fanatec) around the top, say 11 and 1, it makes the oscillation better.
Good luck to those on formula rims!
I saw some streamers really fighting their gear on Mulsanne.

On the Logitech Pro we have some weird oscillations but it seems nowhere near of what it is on the DD pro.

I dont recall the amount of months of the existence of this issue (half year?) and here we are without any news about PD adressing it

I normally run the DD Pro at 10, I’m having to run it at 2 at Le Mans and it still has a bad shimmy.

I've been having to brace my rim with my left knee while holding on for dear life down the Mulsanne straight. Even with my knee, it's a workout on my GT DD Pro 8Nm.

Spent just over two dozen laps at Road Atlanta, and managed a 1:45.489. Further attempts saw me sliding off into the grass. Might try some races tomorrow. 😐

My view of this weeks race (purely personal and other people's mileage will vary)

A: The Stanley parable is free on PSN
B: the stanley parable is no cost on PSN atm
C: critically acclaimed Stanley parable is being given away on PSN right now, it's your choice.

This is the only other game I've played since getting a fixed rig.

Stepping away from the narrator, the races this week just don't tick my fun boxes (Mazda could have been given more realistic tires) GV is not wide enough for Gr3 cars and offers very little overtaking zones that are sensible especially considering the mix of walls and sand.

And well as a DD user the horrific feedback that is applied in Gr1 is a draining experience quite frankly and not pleasant. I don't get the thrill of driving 200mph I get the feeling my wheel base will sheer its M6 bolts, or my elbows and wrists will end up with RSI....

* if you've played the Stanley parable you might like my nod to it in this post ;)
