At the time I quit, there were 11 players.

I had 2504 top 5 finishes, exit to the main menu and when I return to the dailies menu my top 5 is 2505.
The few times this happened (only a couple, because I don't quit races unless for a phone call or some disco PS issue),
I always had one more top 5 added.

And as far as I remember, this happened at any daily, not only in a specific one.
Quitting in any sport mode race is bad, because it automatically puts you in last place. Then your DR tanks and you have to start over from scratch by building your DR/SR back up. I never enter a race if I think I'm going to quit in the middle of it. Don't give up hope though. Always have faith if you are struggling in a race with higher-level drivers. Good luck to you!

Always good to save a replay when you manage to get in to a race with a load to A+ people, I normally save the replay then watch a few to see where im going wrong.

Then you would have finished 11th. You always finish last of the current race order by the number of people remaining when you quit.

Quitting races causes Sport Mode data update lag: nothing is updated - including DR - until after the race you quit has finished. There's a rather obvious reason for this.

You should contact the people who were remaining in the race and ask them to send a screenshot of the finishing order. I bet you weren't classified fifth.

Well, I'm not lying.
And all the times I had to quit, there were always more than 10 players.

What would be the point for me to ask PD to change this odd event, since the first time I spoke about it?
Why should I speak about something that never happened?

Don't know if it is important or not, but for this happen, I have to exit the daily's menu, go to the main menu and go back to the daily's. Only when I make these steps, the top five number increase.
Now, if it is a flaw of the game I don't know, and I will not bother anyone anymore with this oddly event.

But that is not the point....

I never quit even if I'm last, I always play GT for fun.
A proof of this is that I never drive the fastest car on the world's top 10 list (unlike 90% of the players).
I always drive my cars in a loop way, which means I drive them all, even the slowers.

But thank you for your replies.

Cheers

Great to see you again - a bit daunting when we appeared with you on pole, and me P2 though!

Did you notice how I managed to hold them all off so you could scamper away to the win? 😆

I got pushed into the wall on the last lap by the Brit who started behind me, so he and the very fast German guy got past me! I couldn't work out how that German guy was so fast - he started P4, was in P3 before turn 1, and then passed me before turn 3....

He then put it into the wall though, but still managed to get back into contention for the podium.
And you almost had me off the line, it’s abit of a lottery whether you start in first or second gear and made such a difference. 😁

Hopefully another decent combo comes this week - have a good one

Whenever I'm in the lead I get so nervous my legs are shaking.

That's honestly why I almost never drive online.

Just lost a race in the very last corner in Spa because I got punted, but also because I couldn't break properly.
You are probably not nervous but very 'excited'. The body responds to nerves and excitement the same way.

When I am in the lead I try to pretend that I am driving a time trial because all that matters at that point is to get to the finish line as fast as possible. Don't look back, don't look at the gap, it doesn't matter what other people are doing. If someone is still close in the final lap you can think about driving defensive lines in certain corners to prevent dive bombs.

Did the Spa Race probably 20 times this weekend.

Won 0, but got second 4 times and had 9 top 5 finishes. I'm happy with that.

Few bad penalty calls aside it was a pretty great time. Turns out 3 laps is kinda fun - especially on medium tires.

Fun week at Spa, lookin' forward to this week's adventures. It was the teeth clenching, hands shaking fever fest I expected it to be, but I love the track too damn much to NOT run when offered.😁

Best I was able to do was a P2 and a truckload of top 5's. The P2 was pretty much gifted, too. Was pretty stuck to P4 (started P5) through L2. They picked up a penalty and then P1 and 2 got into it. Once the dust settled and the penalties kicked-in, P2 it was:

This was when I knew it was time to take a break...bad moves and worse manners:

All-in-all, loved (almost) every minute of it!

EDIT
These are 'music replays.' I dig some of the camera angles...gotta work on the music choices tho, lol.

Last race of the week on Tokyo, I did say I wasn’t a A+ driver, had it handed to me by Adnan, was still a close race.

I’m gonna miss Tokyo this week :guilty: just did 3 laps in the Cossie and im two seconds off the leaders, much work to do :D sorry for the brief pause in the replay.

Couldn't really enjoy last week. Way off the pace at Spa and not interested in Fuji at all. This week DF/Gr.3 will be my "playroom" of choice. Looking forward to beat some Supra and Lambo with the mighty 911. RB will be the same Mitsu fest that we saw in December. I'll take btw the chance to race the "Cossie" in Sardegna, without QT or expectations, just for fun.
Enjoy your racing week, guys.

I didnt have any replays with people leaving the race im afraid, in general though any race i did there was one or two other A rank racers, then a couple of B ranked racer behind us and the rest of the field was C and D ranked racers.

I’m guessing the ones who were C and D ranked didnt really care about losing any DR or SR points

I got two minutes penalty following the rules on race C. Something has changed. There was no mandatory tyre compund information warning in the pits when I changed tyres. The rule set page does not state type required. Rule is mandatory stop 1. Why would they do this?
I used to understand it when it said tyres required and then the coloured text for the tyre compound types (both in rule page and in pitlane).
Also what was the two minutes for? I know one minute penalty if not pitting, but I did pit, so I'm not sure where the two minutes comes from.

This is why it's important to read the GTPlanet article...

That leaves us with Race C which has a bit of strategy in the mix this week, in a 14-lap race for Gr.3 cars around Deep Forest Raceway, as well as a very easy-to-miss rule.

The race lists both Racing Hard and Racing Medium tires as available but, curiously, doesn’t mark either as mandatory. Don’t be lulled into thinking you can just use the Mediums throughout though, as there is a “Required Tire Type Change” rule turned on and buried in the Race Details page.

You’ll need to use a full set of both grades at some point during the race then, and swap at some point in the 14 laps during your pit stop — which is listed as mandatory, even though that’s explicitly required by the tire type change rule — or you’ll end up with a two-minute penalty at the end of the race.

It’s nice to get back to a 5 lap race B, I’ve had some good races today and my 1.36.6xx is putting top 5 and I think there’s a few tenths still to get, have the week off so there’ll be opportunity to evolve as the week goes. @newmedia_dev that’s some time mate 😳

😁

I look forward to race A this week too, @Tidgney guide will of course help as usual 😉 I bet there’s some decent racing there too, definitely happy with this weeks offerings!

Have fun all. 👍

I thought the article said one minute penalty. Oh well, I did my first race before going on GTplanet then thought it was a strange setup to report right away.
It is a change of rule type isnt it? No explanation for why they have dropped the yellow warning text in the pitlane?

The penalty is usually a minute for not adhering to mandatory pit/required tyres in Daily Races, but we've seen it as two minutes in GTWS events before. I'm not sure we've seen it in Daily Races until now though.

Normally it'd be marked as mandatory tyre types, but on this occasion it isn't. It's irksome as it's not anywhere near as clearly flagged: when it's mandatory tyres, the information is placed in the middle of the screen in a blue box in the lobby and as "Required Tyre" on the grade(s) you haven't yet used when you pit.
