Got my race A time down to basically a 2:20 flat and that has me in the top 500 and starting on pole but I still can't string a race together 🙈 I am taking a break from this game, I am just getting frustrated with it now. Had a shocking QT for monza and just didn't feel like trying any more. Tried 1 race C from the back to recup some DR but even that went tit's up due to others. Have tanked SR in barely 4 races so I am giving it a rest for a while until I am in a better mood for it.
Rediscovered my fondness for ETS 2 so I will take it a bit slower for a while 🤣🤣🤣

I think it always does good to skip a few days' racing - I avoided B most of last week, then ended up with mainly good racing on Saturday and Sunday. I'll usually make liveries if all 3 races don't appeal to me

=======
I got a decent qualifying time (for me at Monza anyway) and it's got me starting 13th/14th, so at least I don't need to worry about getting taken out in the first chicane 🤣

The speed of this lot 😮

Probably the best lap I've done at Monza (I tried the Supra but I don't like it, and I'm slower)

@Barney Da Dog think a lot of my problem is that i am currently working nights and find it very hard to sleep during the day. That and a 7 month old teething son, being almost 45 and starting to feel it too is not helping either 🤣🤣🤣 I am just tired playing, I am fine usually for QT laps on my own but I am getting stressed out racing and doing silly things. Have an interview in the morning for a normal Mon-Fri day job and I am pretty much guaranteed to get it (helps knowing the right people) so hopefully I will be back to normal in a couple of weeks 👍

Great night at Monza, 2 wins and 3 top 5 from 6 races and most guys were really clean other than the usual suspects. The secret was trying the Genesis. I find the rear end a bit nervous but I've learned to work with it, with TC2 it allows juuuuuust enough slip for me to race with it. With the Supra I qualify tc1, race tc2 but the tc burns me a bit too much, in the Genesis it only hurts me exiting the last chicane, if I take rumble kerb on the exit left the tc cuts in and burns me but otherwise it's good. Anyways got my QT down to a 47.9 with this car and that got me two poles in high B rooms, for two wins. Mixed A and B rooms I am top 5. That's under 2pc from the fastest time in the world, which is fast for me and something I rarely did with a pad.

I am absolutely murdering people exiting the parabolica, I brake quite late and hard, pitch the car in, she bites and I can get on the throttle really early if I am careful. Dead set leaving high B rated drivers for dust through that corner.

So a question, lap 1, turn 1, I was P3 and right up p2s rear end but decided to hold station. I braked a touch early but was then ghosted. I never touched the man in front, was I ghosted because the game thought I was gonna hit p2 or because the clowns behind me were going to bowl me over? I lost three positions as the ghosting spooked me and everyone just drive through me.

Anyway, a fun night.

Hey you want fast go over to the time trial thread those peeps are fast fast! But also really chill and supportive so have a look at that thread. I bet within 3 weeks you’ll want to be included on the leaderboard!

As for this thread we are a mix, some are QT fast and don’t race, others full on racers and just do them. There is no judgement other than saying stupid things (I do that) so just race and post your times and experience and observations.

We span all the DR and SR ranges here, so it’s all cool. We all help each other apart from @TechnoIsLove we don’t help him, some say he moved to Malta to dodge taxes, I think he just went for the weather.
You mention the weather, gale force winds, Saharan dust and heavy rain today...... Also like the stig reference 😂

Well, I was going to start my grind for DR A+ with this weeks races, but most of the shared experiences so far makes me want to delay my start after all. 😄

I gave the Abarth A112 in Race A a try last night. I thought, "Oh, cool, race tires on a small car should mean corner speed on rails," but NOPE. Last week's Lancer had more grip on Comfort Softs than this portable tub. 😆

Got to set a decent qualifying lap though to start at the front/pole. Been able to finish in the Top 5 to pad my stats for the handful of races I've done so far, including a win. I haven't decided if I'm gonna frequent Race A this week like I did the previous week; still kind of thinking I want to finally give the long-format Race C a try. 🤔

There was also this, which was shaping up to be a good battle until...racing incident?

My best time for Race A is 2:21.969 - just within the top 3k! Definitely gonna have to try this one.

EDIT: Q1/P3, but it was close! I was only off by P1 by a little over 1.5s!

Racing Hards on the Abarth has shown me what people meant when they said "road cars can behave strangely with default suspension and racing tyres".
Remember guys, the Abarth has a wheelbase shorter than the one of a bicycle.

Had some fun at Monza last night. Was feelin' saucy after running some QT laps so tested the waters. Whittled QT down to a 47.7 which landed me P2 on the grid. Into T1/L1 someone from about a month back showed-up and torpedoed P1. I survived and never looked back. Kept watchin' the mirror so kept making little mistakes here and there but was able to keep it together for the win and a .4 sec gap:

Next race was a completely different story...brain shutdown and lost comms with the hands and could NOT be restored. Drifting into walls, forgetting to brake and just went totally dumb on the controls in general. Dragged the twisted pile of car across the line in P10. Seemed a good indicator that it was past bedtime.🤣

The Lancer evo gt3 is faster /better than the 911rsr gt3, everywhere, but the Porka is looking better than the shoebox, that's why we all pretend the 911 is better.. I just realized it for me... runs and hides from flying stones

I’m currently doing laps in the DB9 as it’s the sleeper against the Genesis and Supra, rocket ship in a straight line.

I’m definitely with you on what you are saying ;)

Not such fun here, sticking with the Porsche isn’t doing me any favours, I need to put some serious time into Monza but unfortunately I don’t have it

My early race this morning was a tale of three consecutive 1 sec chicane pens, and just couldn’t keep up with anything on the straights

My lunch race or rage should I call it had found well racing some supras until one chap divebombed me off and I had to put him into the sand in return, I felt bad and waited at the finish line for him,

☹️

It’s not you, just the nature of the racing. Quite honestly the just QT sessions feel about the same.

Mostly it’s all well intentioned but clumsy and more “race” than “think” mindset.

As I said on another thread this is one of the go to SR rebalancing races, because no body wants GTWS drivers missing the first turn or collecting bodies on the way.

Yeah just one of those weeks I guess,

👍

I’ve decided I’m out on this week, not one person will care and that’s fine. I feel better saying it!

Here is the picture of a moron my age thinking BMX is a sensible idea

Why not bro, I often wonder what we’d buy at a young age if we had the money we had now,

I’m collecting panini cards for my boys and have probably spent 600£ in the last two seasons 🤣

See you on the other side 👊

Probably preaching to the choir here, or sharing something y'all already know. But since coming back to doing the Dailies recently, I've had to remind myself that most of the other players are probably more gamers than racers, so the general etiquette is video-gaming-esque rather than racing-esque.

I'm not trying to knock the former, cause it is just a video game after all. But it's just something I remind myself when I'm racing another driver (or two), and they don't reciprocate the same racing etiquette I extend to them.

That stuff is so addictive and way more rewarding than Pokémon!! (I mean it’s the original Pokémon/baseball cards)

Just stay young for as long as you can or your body will let you. Life is to short not to have fun. Also being older means I have no shame or embarrassment. Really comfortable in my own skin doing me.

Will leave this here though, if you get the context it’s extremely brutal and funny

Not preaching to the choir but we all sort of get it.

The thing in the lobbies your are going through at the moment then it is just a game/ridge racer.

There are a lot of quick guys on this thread who span all the DRs

From my personal perspective and rating, I just expect better car control, while it’s a game I’d expect A and A+ drivers to play it the same as I do which is pretend it’s a racing game.

Small update, I got the new job today 👍👍. Am going to take the week off now to get the body clock back to normal and just generally chill out a bit.
I did log into my US account earlier and tried a few races at Monza. It was interesting anyway 🤣🤣🤣 I did 4 races and got 3 2nd places and a DNF. I was leading 1 by 7 seconds but binned it on the exit of the final chicane 🙈🙈 I recovered well to finish only 0.2 seconds behind P1 after driving like a lunatic on the last 2 laps

The 911 certainly is not that fast but I found it very stable compared to the Supra so stuck with that 👌
