I still do not understand those 18 minute qualifying sessions for the Manu cup. I used it as an extended practice session so not all bad I guess. Still stupid.

It’s horrific to be honest.

You end up at ALL levels of lobbies doing this weird thing, where I want to do my hot lap after the out lap for example, guy behind is like cool let’s queue up a bit and take 3/4 stabs at this if we need to.

Some one comes out of the pits and just “ya know merges, because it’s their race too..”

Ok, reset, pull over and try to find a gap, you find a gap and in a qt session there are yellow flags “ok this is like real life” and all you want to do is just put a single lap in, just a banker nothing special.

There is no problem, it’s just the format causes problems and honestly is an absolute piss take of a persons time when the race can almost be shorter than the time. The time was picked to fill the slot not for our enjoyment. It really really annoys me.

Edit:

You know what, I’m really really really tired of putting time in to know the track hit top x times and people have no brakes or honestly ability.

It’s really putting me off the game that I’m QT 1.5 seconds faster that p2 or 3 and I’m the one that is braking to early…there is something in the water loads of videos of bad driving etc not my thing.

I’m just gonna QT I do not need to rear ended on my 6000th online race from pole by somebody that QTs 2.5s slower.

The reason they are slower is they are an absolute idiot. I can’t race these people.

Have fun everyone but im
Out for a while

Beautiful car to look at, lovely to drive (VR) the wall riding thing has put me off it. Shame.
The wallriding, or more precisely: the wallbumping, is significant. It gave me 4 tenths of improvement on my lap time. Shouldn't have finished the lap, but I got too focused on having a good run while chasing a ghost that I had loaded (which I rarely do, I normally only use my own ghost). Definitely I won't do races on my main account with that "fake" QT.

It’s not like they aren’t the same thing…
Maybe not exactly the same in my understanding. I just bumped into the wall once, which threw me back onto the track with some decent speed. My idea of wall"riding" is what sometimes can be done at the Tokyo tracks or High Speed Ring for example, where (at least in offline races) you can follow the outside radius (without braking) and let the guardrails do some of the steering for you.

I’ll go get a video in VR but it’s definitely hitting the wall, in a slow car to go faster.

“What is sportsmanship”

I just find if odd and sad for unranked races but people do people I guess.

I've had fun this week!

The Peugeot is the dominant car since PD broke the BoP but with the strong slipstream and tyre wear you can have some fun going against it. Some races have had as many as 15 RCZ's on the grid but I've also seen good players in the Huracan and AMG being able to hold their own too.

And whoever designed that final hairpin should be fired, the amount of carnage that has caused every race is ridiculous.

"In the 80s/90s in the Netherlands, there were competitions for reverse driving in Daf cars. I think you would have been an A+ at that!"

I've no idea why PD doesn't do it like: hit the wall -> your car gets slowed down significantly. Would that be so difficult to implement?

Which is of course sacrilegious.
Well, as an Italian I of course loved its inclusion, but, according to Wiki, 14240 of that particular model were produced, which makes it make sense to go in UCD (then again, over 1.6 million DS were produced according to wiki. Of course this encompasses the first and second series, with the one in game being from the third series iirc, but its inclusion in LCD is definitely not due to volumes)

On the other hand, why was the Stratos included in UCD is a total mystery

Race C should be pretty clean this week, did one race and it seemed very sensible. Good to see the British Bombers up there, I miss using those cars and they sound great and also two cars I have considered buying. I cannot choose between them tbh, ran 29 flat in both with room to improve.

In the race it is pretty clear I am losing time in the long left handers, not carrying enough speed through the middle of the corner.

Back to earth with a bump, will be hard going this week.

Race A, wall riding not much fun once you tried it also burns the hell out of the wheel with all the turning!

Race B, this is where I’ll be but mid pack all week I would guess, can’t get on with the 458 even though my fastest time came with it, I’ll stick with the Porsche

Race C, great circuit but 8 laps of that is a little too long for me

Even though I’m not racing much at the moment, daily race A has solved a mystery for me, that I’ve had for some time now.

I’m missing five cars in my car collection to complete them all. Three are awaiting a Ferrari invite, one is awaiting a Citröen invite and the other one is from the legends car dealership. I haven’t been able to deduce what car from the legends I was missing.

Edit
Just an observation, the Giulia has never been available in Legend dealership, as it is a UCD car
I stand corrected. No wonder I hadn’t found it yet as I thought I had everything from UCD…
End edit.

Enter daily race, a. I go to select my car from the garage and get greeted with this.

So thanks, Daily Race A, now I know which car to be looking out for.

The Guilia. 👍

For now, I guess it’s the rental… rentals are faster anyway :D

I did a few QT laps following no ghost, and I thought my time was reasonable. Then I switched the fastest ghost on and saw what he did at the bottom of the hill. I won’t say I approve of the behavior, but it sure is quick if you follow it.

Edit. Did one race. Started pole, finished 2nd. Turns out the wall ride does not work in the race. Are least in my race it was faster to not wall ride, which is why 2nd finished 1st and I finished 2nd. You hit the wall too hard and you incur more damage than in QT which slows you down.

Awesome effort on the car collecting, I am just about to start on the same route, seeing as the cash is stacking up and I’ve nothing to do with it.

I think I managed a 1.24.4xx wall riding but the lobbies were pilling into each other on each hairpin so there is no way to enjoy those races I found 😁

A weird one for me. I actually set a decent qualifying time (for my level) for race C but going backward in the race. 2 seconds off the pace of the leaders. The racing is still fun in the midpack so I'll stick at it. Had a good race last night, the last 5 laps was a battle of 5 Vantages and a lone Viper for the last spot on the podium. Clean respectful driving all round. Maybe it's just the AWDs that bring out the bad habits.

Race C is very physical, and 8 laps is very tiring (especially for an oldie like me!).

Tried Race A, but it's a bit pointless if you don't use the cheat at the bottom of the hill - I can pull away from cars around most of the track, and they just come sailing past much faster up the hill!

If it weren't for the sad start and the wall riders then Daily a would be great. Filthy wall riders. First race the front 2 ran away wall riding while I had to come through a couple of people driving clean as my qualifying hadn't registered. Second race it was close for about 3 laps as I kept over shooting the first hairpins letting the guy behind catch up, but then got it sorted, he got a penalty and managed a win. Those are sort of all good.

Race 3 I've got a wall rider behind me. Lap 1 there's some minor taps, but just close racing. I out drag him up the hill despite the wall riding and it's game on. Another couple of close laps only now they're getting to my rear wheels before I pull in front and they keep nudging me to the wall. Then they launch it up my rear at the final corner lap 4 to shove me way deep. I get a run coming back down and get alongside at the first hairpin and return a bump and block pass to get ahead in the runs down to the bottom turn. They get right behind me and go for a wall ride so once I start hearing their grinding I open the steering a few degrees to ensure they get all the extra wall grind they could want. Their car loses a load of speed and I cruise on. Dirty? Probably, but so was their wall riding and the attempt to bump pass. Feel annoyed that I did that, but also annoyed that their idea of fun was full on wall riding and just hitting me out of the way when they couldn't find a gap cleanly.

Now to see what else looks worth a run.

I had three races A today. Interestingly, they were all good.

Started on a pratice account (low DR B) from the back, and had a clean race with real overtakes to finish P7. Nobody blocked or dove in an unfair way. Not a single case of "you passed me, now I'll punt you". Saw one instance of wallriding up ahead, but it might have been accidental.

I then used the time until the next race to get a QT (without wallriding 😊), got relegated to a lobby with mostly DR C drivers and, oopsie, started on pole. Got through the hairpins without being touched, nobody did anything stupid, and I never looked back.

Third race, in a higher lobby again, I started P2 behind an A+ driver. Once again, nobody did anything dumb in T1, and from then on it was just me chasing P1. I ended up in P2 right in his exhaust (could almost smell him sweating😅), and he thanked me for the good race in the chat afterwards.

So, not too bad. Have I been just lucky to get into three very clean and fair races?

Only freed up enough time to lay down a QT for one daily.

Race C: Silvia spec-R Aero (S15) - 2:28.863

Fun car and track combination. There are a couple more tenths for me to gain, most notably in the tighter hairpins. Good luck out there!

I also have a 2:28:8 on the board now for race C. Very nice that PD chose this! I'm known with the Yamagiwa part of the track, but the rest is new to me. Cool track with a lot of opportunities to waste your quick lap he he. I'll be trying some races there tomorrow and/or Thursday.

Mate, if the clock is white when you cross the line then it's legal no matter how you did it. I have a personal issue with people bouncing off the rev limiter while braking and rapid downshifts and upshifts while cornering. This sort of thing should destabilise the car but it's allowed so you just have to get on with it.

Yesterday things were pretty fine but today I’ve seen multiple people wallriding in all four races I’ve done so far. So many people without a spine. Pathetic, lol.
I met you in a race about an hour ago where things didn't go too nicely, to say the least. I was able to get through the wildest stuff and finish P4, but you got a bit agitated, and rightfully so (I watched the replay).

So far the only race A this week where I had to watch people go nuts.

Edit. A correction: The wallriders have taken over now. And, even worse: I saw a driver who had mounted a rear wing to his Giulia. A REAR WING!!! 🫣

I'm out.
