GT7 & PSVR2

I think, if I have the money, I would never purchase a real Ferrari F40. I upgraded one of my two F40s in the game to the maximum to grind at Le Mans. The car itself drives very well after little adjustings in the settings and the engine has a really cool screaming sound, but if you look with your PSVR2 down to the driver's feet, you see you are sitting very weird in this car. Your pedals are placed very far to the middle of the car, because the wheelhousing goes extremely into the cabin, so you are sitting heavily twisted in your seat.
Seems like PSVR saved you a bundle. Great investment.

Almost all of the older Italian super cars are this way. Just watch any of the Doug Demuro reviews and he mentions it every time.

Some cars that I used to drive often because they were "cool, with character" annoy me in VR. For example, the Viper Gr. 3, because the cockpit is so cramped and the driver holds the steering wheel close to his face.
On the other hand, other cars that I wouldn't even look at before bring a lot of joy and make me want to come back to them. For example, the VW Beetle Gr. 3.

Anyone else tried the radical time trial and tricking the VR view to be really high up so you get very good view of the road and no glass to distract you.

Someone said, that you can adjust your PSVR2 by sitting in a lower position by laying more horizontal in your seat. Then when you drive, you sit upright in your chair. This may help for a higher sight. I haven't tried it out.

This is what I do, I position myself slightly lower and slightly further back at the start of the race then hit the passthrough button on the PSVR2 twice real quick. then I sit back in my normal position.

How is the game to know I'm not 6'9 with scoliosis?

I do the same but mostly go further forward first then calibrate. Forwards and down for the radical and the vw gr3 vgt i tried recently too with a similar half front glass.

As above, I tend to lean forward and slightly down (I'm 6ft / 182cm) to get the wheel more where I have it in an actual car, although it's not needed with every vehicle. It's a bit of a stupid requirement, but it is what it is :)

Also, the offset pedals seating position is very common with older Italian cars, and quite a few European cars (French / Italian) often have a 'long arms, short legs' position, like it's designed for an ape!

Another famed for having to drive it looking over your shoulder is the Lancia Stratos, I haven't tried it in VR yet but assume that's also pretty offset? Agreed though that the F40 was very noticeable with the little stick legs off to one side!

For anyone based in the UK who wears glasses and is considering getting some prescription lens covers for their PSVR2, I can recommend the VR ProOptics from Adlens.

I ordered from them on March 18th and my lens covers arrived today. Very easy to install and after a quick go using them, I could quickly tell that the image is clearer for me now compared to using my glasses.

Also nice to finally be able to pull the mask in as close as it will go without having to worry about scratching anything anymore!
Im still waiting for my VR lenses from Reloptix here in the US. I pre-ordered them since late February and still haven't gotten them. Starting to get impatient. I already had my PSVR2 replaced due to scratches from my eyeglasses. Im scared to use it now without lenses...hope they ship soon.

Been playing a fair bit of Race B at Suzuka. I love the dynamic weather in VR. Although it doesn't rain in Race B, I love how the track gets darker at different times and different places depending on the cloud cover. When the sun comes back through again, your mind is tricked into thinking you're getting warmer as you see the light on you and your car. It's an unbelievable experience and can sink hours at a time without any issues. That, plus a decent competitive and close race, and you can't help by saying "just one more go".

I have to do the repositioning trick quite often because on some cars the shift lights get hidden behind the steering wheel.

Examples are the GT3 and GT4 Ferraris and the BMW M6 GT3.
Kind of stressful on each start of the race to remember not only to keep looking straight forward but also crouch in your seat or make a goose-neck.

At least you do not really loose time if you do the Pause-Continue-trick to recenter you view on the sprint to the first corner.

I feel like I have to do it in every car. I´m generally sitting too low and way too far forward.
It might be because PD are using an average sized Japanese male as reference and I´m quite a bit taller IRL. My VR legs also look like children's legs. Skinny and tiny.
The overall scale feels right though.
I really wish we could just set a default position for every car ourselves.

Please don’t take this the wrong way, but aren’t DOF motion setups considerably more than A$800?

Have you tried VR before? (Perhaps you already have a PC setup with VR?).

I was just a bit surprised to read
an enthusiastic post about DOF just minutes after reading that $800 was too much to spend on a VR headset just for one game.

(FWIW I bought the PVSR2 just for GT7 and I don’t regret it for a minute.)
No not at all. I can understand that it would have come across a little weird.

Yeah the DoF setups are about $5,000 when its all said and done unfortunately.

I do have a PC that I have VR on which I love, right back from the days of the DK1 rift and all its screen doory goodness! As it turns out, my wallet did get $900 lighter on the weekend after reading all the posts about GT7 in VR. I just had to try it out.

Damn. Damn. Damn. DAMN! I think I have driven about 2,000km in the last 4 days. Doing that 3 lap race on the Nurburgring endurance/sprint track with all of my GR.3 cars is amazing.

After at least 10 sessions I have now come to the point of making multiple races each session for 2 -3 hours (with some breaks in between). But I have to admit I am still not comfortable and I might be the slowest ever in getting my VR legs...

When I try new tracks with weird elevations I still getting that funny feeling of dropping. In the end of a session I have that small dizziness for half an hour or so. I guess that this will go away eventually but I didn't expect I would be that slow, my kids adopted instantly and they are now making fun of their old man xD

I have noticed when I adjust the headset that there is a very very tight spot where everything is super clear and there is no chromatic abberation, but it is so small that I never manage to stay with it as it's only a glimpse and than you lose it no matter how close you try to replicate the position you found it. I still manage to keep it clear but not without color aberration seen on the letters. Does anyone else have this issue or found a way to overcome this?

The sweetspot is pretty tiny and it seems to be even smaller when you wear glasses. I have an easier time staying in the sweetspot with contacts or my VR-Optician prescription lenses.

Generally I´d say the headset is supposed to sit higher on your forehead than you´d think and the strap is supposed to be lower on the back of your head than you´d think.

The Sony Pulse 3D headphones help keep the goggles in place. The rear strap of the goggles rests on the headphone cups. Additionally, I don't have to press the goggles onto my head as tightly. ;)

For improvement in keeping sweetspot comfort kit from studioform helps

Hey guys how is your track time
Psvr2 vs tv?
I play gt7 with psvr2 every day at least for an hour since release and im way slower than my tv time..
Sorry for my bad English. 😢

I can safely say that this PSVR2 Headstrap works wonders regarding comfort. Not just for my nose but my whole head. It took like 3 weeks to get here from China, but its well worth it 👍

I got an IR light to aid tracking but unfortunately it didn't make any improvements. After losing tracking 3 times in Daily Race B yesterday and going from 2nd to last because I spun when it resumed on 130r, I'm sending this one back for a repair which they said should be a straight replacement.

Hopefully my 3rd headset works better.

Are you sure its the headsets?
If you using the same place to play and your having the same problems..., did you consider to change the place/lights and so on instead of replacing the headset...
Mine only lost track once and was cause my wife turned the light off at night.

Dont use lights/leds in front of the headset or very reflective areas/windows in front of the headset.
Try to play in a small area like a corner of the room and with neutral wall colour, normal lights behind you and see how it goes.

I've tried everything, moving around, changing lighting, having the TV on with the tracking enhancing. There's already plenty around for the headset to track and it picks it up fine when doing the calibration.
The first one I had didn't do this once so pretty sure it's the headset.
